About The Gardens of Social Circle in Social Circle, Georgia
Social Circle is the epitome of a quaint, small town just 45 miles east of Atlanta, four miles due north of Interstate 20. Known to most as “Georgia’s Greatest Little Town”, Social Circle is easily accessible to those near the metro-Atlanta area, but just far enough out of the area to still have that perfect rural-Georgia-feeling that urges nostalgia in all. This small town boasts great local businesses to support and wonderful community programs including line dancing lessons, the Social Circle Theater, a local golf course, and festivals and holiday fun all year round. In the Historic Heartland of the state, Oxton Village makes its home, and so can you.

I did a tour of The Gardens of Social Circle. I did not like a single thing about it. I didn't like the way we were met at the door, and I didn't like the young lady who took us on the tour. I didn't like the tour, the facility, and the room. The one room she showed us was empty. I guess that was used to store extra furniture and stuff like that. She said they had to paint to get it ready. I didn't like the tile floor in the main area. It's dingy looking, I just didn't like that. I didn't get a lot of information about the overall place at all. She just showed us some rooms, and the dining room in the main gathering area where they watch TV sometimes. I just was not impressed at all with that one. The only thing I can remember her talking about was the activities. They could go outside, and they would have somebody with them the whole time. I just saw the patio outside in the backyard since then. It needed to be cleaner, cheerful, and cheery. It was kind of drab. By the time I left, I was glad to be away.

My husband went with me to Oxton Village. It looked to be fine, but they were repainting all of it at the time. Part of it was already done, but the part for dementia and Alzheimer’s was not finished yet. The facility was very nice; however, I didn’t see the people doing anything. It was kind of a naptime when I was over there. The lady who runs it was very nice. I also met the staff member who does the activities, and she was very nice, too. They were very caring.

Currently living here and I do see problems, hopefully they will work this out, this place needs a lot of work. Like- the meals no flavor, cold, not enough for some, some not cooked still raw, or cooked to death.--leaks in ceilings, floors not cleaned, smell of urine, lots of painting needed, doors not closing, people disgruntle some do not want to be there or work, either one.
