My father moved to Magnolia Place recently from another facility in Roswell. He loves it here. It is nice and clean. The staff is friendly. The care level dramatically better than the other facility, and the cost is quite a bit lower. Shayla at Magnolia has been a great help for my dad and for my family in this move. My dad was very hesitant about moving. Shayla arranged for the facility van to pick up my father and spend the afternoon at the facility, touring and meeting the staff and residents. When my dad returned to his apartment he called and wanted to move right away. Shayla helped us find a senior mover on short notice. She visited my dad in the hospital after he was injured at the other facility. She helped with unpacking. Today I saw a picture of my dad on the Facebook page for Magnolia Place - he was smiling for the first time that I have seen in 2022.

I visited this community and was NOT impressed. Staff seems ok at best. There were no residents around. Building appears older, and dark, very depressing. This one is a definite NO for us.

Magnolia Place has been a great place for my relative to be living in. The staff is friendly and always available to help or answer questions. I have been told the food is good and they have a nice dining area. Location is great and minutes away from shopping/grocery stores. Everything has been updated and the room size is perfect for what they need. As for activities they have many different things going on every month that you can attend. Taking advantage of these always helps meeting other residents in the building. Magnolia Place has been a great place for my relative and they are comfortable and happy to be living here.

My father is at Brookdale Big Creek Roswell right now for respite, and he is going to decide within the next week or so if he wants to stay longer. They are really nice for the value. The amenities are nice and up-to-date, clean, and current. The chef and the activities director are really friendly, and they have lots of activities. My dad is really pleased with the room size for the price, and he loves the restaurant dining where he can pop in anytime, not on a set schedule. Whenever he feels like eating, he can pop in and order. He said the food is really good too, so he’s been really impressed with the food. He’s had a couple complaints with the staff, but management has been quick to address them.

We were so disappointed in Brookdale Big Creek - the employees just do not care - our mother had ants all over her bathroom and kitchen and I would not have believed it if I hadn't witnessed it and even took pictures but not one employee did a thing and because it was Friday, she was suppose to live with the ants until Monday when the maintenance man returned. Another time her tv went out and she asked and asked and nobody helped her. The director doesn't care and another time there was a urine saturated couch in the common area that was not even removed until the next day. Our mom lost 15 pounds in less than a year of residing in Brookdale Big Creek - the staff might bring breakfast to her room after she fell and didn't have the common decency to leave it close enough for my mom to reach it or even take off the wrapping. There is zero security as the front desk employee is either away from her desk or engrossed in texting. Activities were finally added but be careful and stick around to see if they actually go on. We had hoped to not move my mom but she had to be admitted to the hospital for dehydration and significant loss of weight as well as broken ribs. We can't make these employees care or have compassion or empathy but that starts from the top. You will be better off going elsewhere and not having to constantly be there asking why there is still no soap in the soap dispensers or why employees from different areas all say they are understaffed. The activity director is great as are some very caring nurses but overall, there is zero energy and the employees all look miserable and do not mingle with the residents. She is now at a rehab where the energy is contagious and we are so thankful and wished we moved her earlier.

Brookdale had small rooms, like studios, that were clean and well-kept, with well-set-up bathrooms. The hallways were nice, clean, and pretty well lit. There was entertainment going on, and the entertainer seemed nice. The sales person was very nice and thorough. They need to brighten up the common areas.

Brookdale Big Creek Roswell was very good, the staff was excellent, and the people seemed happy and in good shape. It was a very nice place, and everybody was very helpful. For me, personally, if the cost had been a little lower, that’s where my mother would have gone.

We moved my mother to the memory unit at Brookdale Big Creek Roswell (formerly Emeritus at Big Creek). Since they've become Brookdale, we've been fairly happy with them, which is why we stuck with them. They still have the same staff; it hasn't changed much. It's a residential community that has a 16-person memory unit wing. Most of the staff are very qualified and very patient, but they're a little bit understaffed. The food was fine, and they give them too much, so I get that too. I chose them because of the answers I got about care and because of the convenience, which is close to my house. They do a pretty good job. However, there's almost no socialization. Most of the residents are pretty noncommunicative. They've got a big-screen TV, and they do trivia stuff on it. There's not much in the way of programs for them.

We like Brookdale Big Creek because of location, which is the most important factor, and it's a facility with good care and good price. It is excellent. They made a special accommodation for my parents, so that was good.

My favorite was Brookdale. I liked the activities director a lot. He was a very upbeat person. The rooms were a nice size and homey. The residents looked very happy, and they said they were happy. The dining area was satisfactory.

I went to Brookdale Big Creek Roswell, and I loved it. I also volunteer there at Christmas time and spend a couple of hours there. From what I have seen, it is beautifully run. But from the point of view of the residents, people either participate in stuff or don't. I think the place is great. I have only seen a couple of rooms, and again, it is very pleasant. They are kind of standard but nice, and the bathrooms are clean. People bring in their own furniture, so some of the rooms are exquisite. The dining area is terrific, and it is the second best food I came across in any facility. It is kind of formal for me. The activities are terrific. I just couldn't afford it.

I thought Emeritus was very beautiful inside. They had very nice décor. The apartments were a good size. They did answer my questions. I did discuss or inquire about how they could accommodate a person who was a vegetarian. The chef was able to make some calls and do some research, and got back with me and said they could even use meat substitutes. I thought they went out of their way to answer the questions. I thought Emeritus was nice. The staff was fine; however, I didn't feel that they had enough activities. They go to the store, shopping every day, or at least three days a week. I would prefer more activities in the center, and if they are going out, take them some place other than to the Dollar Store. I would think that they might need a store run once a week, but I don't think they need it every two or three days. One of the residents who lived there said she liked it there, but she said there's not a lot to do. Before she moved in, they made it sound like there were a whole lot of activities for them. Now that they're here, there really isn't much to do. I love their layout and their décor, but I just felt that they needed more stimulating activities for the seniors. I did eat at Emeritus. The food was good there.
