We saw the dining room at the Spring House at Cartersville. The rooms are still being renovated, and because of the renovations it wasn't safe to go view the rooms. But they had pictures of the rooms, and the pictures looked very nice. We got to see the place where they would be doing crafts, projects, and all kinds of entertainment for the residents. It was all very nice. I think it was a hotel that was renovated for assisted living. They sat down and talked with us, they showed us the pictures, and we got pamphlets. We got all kinds of verbal information and written information that we could take home with us. The staff we met were very intelligent. They were telling us all kinds of information, showing us the projects that they had been working on, and showing us the crafts that they have for the residents, some of the plans they have for the future, and things for them to do. What we saw was great. They also have patios, and they have a pool that's being reconstructed so that it can be used for water aerobics.

The outside of The Spring House at Cartersville needed some help as far as maintenance and landscaping and all that. The inside of the facility was clean and I don't even think they've opened up to new residents. Holly, the staff I met during the tour was awesome. She's been calling in and checking in. I think it's very important that facilities like this have that contact person and I think Holly is good with it, she needs a raise. I'd give the highest rating for their customer service.

I know that The Spring House at Cartersville was a renovated motel, so that was all I could see when I went there. If I didn't know that, it might have been different. Also, they were not at full capacity yet when I was there, so it's hard to see what could be going on when we choose to stay there. The staff was very nice and very friendly, and one was with us the whole time during the tour. She was very bubbly, and she explained to us what we would be involved in if we went there. She was very good. It was not totally up and running; therefore, it seemed more like a motel. It's not comfortable and doesn't have living rooms. With the other places that are up and running, they usually have these things to make you feel like you're at home. I didn't feel it that day at The Spring House because they weren't ready to open.

I toured The Spring House at Cartersville. It was wonderful. The lady who runs it all, Holly, has been very helpful. Whether I am able to get my dad in there financially, she helped me with the attorney, and people who to call to get his VA started, she gave me a lot of good advice, so she was very helpful. She gave me a really great tour, the facility's really nice, and she has really good ideas and plans for the place; there was a lot better sense in where my father's going to be. Everything's going to be pretty much brand new, it's wide hallways, there's a big breakfast and eating area, she has a pool, there are plenty of spaces to walk, she's gonna have people coming in, helping them learning stuff for their brain and memory, she's actually got people set up to come in and actually teach them stuff, show 'em things, so they're not just sitting around playing bingo. She's gonna have a monthly calendar event that changes monthly, which is nice. The rooms were not completed yet, I saw the model rooms, and they were probably one of the nicest I saw.
