My mother-in-law moved in.She's in memory care. It was the cleanest, the newest, and it didn't look like a nursing home when you walked in. This is her third day and they've been wonderful. They've got a chef, they've got a salad bar, and the food is very nice. They have cornholes and all kinds of stuff.

We went to The Fountains in Cartersville. I love the Fountains. The staff there was excellent. The sales representative was awesome. She tried her very best to accommodate us in every way possible. Very friendly. I love the fact that their staff looked like they were more hands-on with the patients like it was more one-to-one. And very, very great place, very organized, and a lot of activities. We had an option to have a studio or shared room at The Fountains. Initially, for the cost, we were considering a shared room, but then we thought we would like to have our own privacy when we visit. So that was another reason why we didn't go with the shared room, but they offered a shared room as well as studios.

There was nothing I didn't like about The Fountains in Cartersville. First of all, the place and the views were gorgeous, because it was out in the middle of all this beautiful land and it's just beautiful from any direction that you're in the building. I liked the big covered porches. Everybody I met was super, super nice and helpful. I even got to see a room that they had decorated just for show and I just loved that little room. They have a lot of activities. They had a theater and a library, and I liked all that. I didn't have a meal there, although they invited me back to do so. I couldn't find anything to complain about and I'm a very thorough person.

The facility is beautiful and clean. Sadly, the staff are not professional or caring. My mother-in-law was routinely left alone after meals with no one to take her back to her room. She would call for assistance and wait up to an hour for an aide to arrive. Instead of helping her with her shower, one aide told her to pick up the soap she dropped as she was busy on her phone. She paid for additional help and this wasn't what she received. We attempted to address these issues time and again with management. There never was a resolution to any of the issues she experienced. Most recently, we were lied to about the circumstances of my mother-in-law's fall resulting in a broken hip. During the entire time she was away from the facility in the hospital and rehab, no one from the Fountains staff ever contacted us to check on her and her progress. We trust these people with our loved ones and expect them to be cared for and cared about. This is not the case at the Fountains. She has moved out of the Fountains, the inconsistent care caused too much anxiety.

My sister will be moving into The Fountains in Cartersville within the month. There were walking trails all around it, a swimming pool, and a nice big covered porch in the back with a big backyard in a fenced-in area. The food looked delicious. There was a hairdresser on site, as well as daily activities. They went on weekly activities on a bus. Rather than seeing people shut in their rooms, you see people out and about. Everything in that place was beautiful.

My mother is moving in. It's close to home. I've been up there three to four times talking to the people. Everybody seems real nice. They know what to do and the residents seemed happy. The menus looked good, but I haven't tasted the food. It's an assisted living with a memory care unit. She's moving to memory care. I saw the staff taking the residents to physical therapy and today when I was up there, the residents were helping the staff set the tables for dinner. They've got a fenced-in area for the memory care patients and I drove around the whole building before I went in and it's fenced in the back. It's secure. They had locked memory care, but you can walk in through the assisted living section. The doors were unlocked during the day. The rooms were nice and large enough for a bed, a recliner, a TV, a dresser, and a nightstand. They're large and they looked good. They showed me a community area with a TV, dining tables, a library, a little country store, a music room, and a physical therapy room.
