My mother is in Cameron Hall of Canton. It's gone under some major transformations. A year before my mother moved in, Five Star took it over. She's been there three-and-a-half years now. They have just gone in with a brand new medical staff and home health transitional care. So far, I'm very impressed with them. As far as I know, Cameron Hall only has about 37 residents now, and it can probably occupy over 70. There's plenty of room. They've totally renovated with new air-conditioning, new roof, and painting. Every time a resident passes or moves on, they totally do flooring and paint. They are very, very meticulous about making sure that it's clean. For a while there, it was tough because like most places they had very little people to do things. When you have the maintenance man cooking in the kitchen, you know you have problems. My mother and I hung in there and I'm glad we did because it seems like there's a silver lining now. It's much better. The food is better. I wish there was music. They need to hear the old time stuff that they grew up with. They have an activities director now, and they finally are back on board with the calendar. I'm glad to see that they are getting activities back, like bingo, chair exercises, and watching movies. They have entertainment come into the facility and they're trying to get my mother to go out and do it. She's under physical therapy now. I think we're in a good place. The price is reasonable, more so than most places. At this point, we're doing good. Cameron Hall's got a lot of possibilities to be back where they were when my mother first joined in. Like so many of the places when COVID broke out, a lot of people moved their loved ones out. Nobody died from COVID there; very few contracted it. If the staff had it, they had to shut it down. It was getting pretty crazy there for a time, getting laundry done and housekeeping. All the administrative staff that was out front had to go and do all these things because they had nobody that would work, but now they have it. I'm really glad because headquarters came in from up north and had them in there. They propped them up to get them back on track again. We've gotten everything straightened out. All you got to do is communicate with the people. You can go to corporate, but I haven't had to do that. They pretty much tend to my mother's needs.

It has taken me months to be able to sit and write this review as I am dreading reliving the horrors I experienced after moving my grandmother into Cameron Hall of Canton. I apologize if it could have helped someone sooner. After losing her only 2 sons, and caregivers, within a year I had to move my sweet 92 yo grandmother into an assisted living. I spent a lot of time researching homes in the area as I wanted her close by. Cameron Hall seemed like a great place and very close to me. She moved in the beginning of February, mobile and in pretty good spirits. Our biggest issue was getting her to eat sufficiently. The first 3 weeks seemed to go OK. There were issues with her getting her meds on time and such but nothing serious and nothing I couldn’t handle by just running up there. Towards the end of February, she hurt her back trying to help a wheelchair bound woman get her wheelchair unstuck. Everything went downhill quickly from here. Now she bed ridden and in constant pain. At this point I had never received a call from Cameron Hall telling me that she hurt her back. My grandmother and the members of her hospice were the only one contacting me to let me know what was going on. Even though Cameron Hall is being PAID for this service. She was eating much less than before and I counted on the staff to try to entice her to eat. At the very minimum to let me know that she wasn’t. But I still had never heard from Cameron Hall. Come March, corona-virus has set in and the facility is locking down. On March 9 she called to tell me that she had horrible back pain and wasn’t getting any relief. The med staff told me that they couldn’t give her her morphine due to policies but, due to Covid, I wasn’t supposed to go in the building. After raising cane, they let me get in to give her her morphine. I blew her a kiss and told her how much I loved her. I couldn’t hug or kiss her and this would be the last time I saw her alive. I contacted the Manager of Resident care and expressed my concerns. At first I was given all sorts of excuses and eventually was told they COULD in fact give her the morphine and I was promised that she would be taken care of and that this would not happen again. On March 14th she called at 11:30am to tell me that she hadn’t gotten ANY of her morning meds, much less pain meds. 11:30!!!!!!! This should have happened around 8am. She was in tears and obviously bad pain. I spoke with a med tech who told me that she was the only med-tech on staff at the time and she was trying to take care of other residents who had fallen and had to go to the hospital. Yes, I am serious… she said that. After this I was ready to bring her to my house or move her but due to Covid, my options were not many. I contacted the Resident Care Manager again. She apologized and told me that the med-tech shouldn’t have told me that and she would get this resolved. I didn’t have any faith at this point and was counting on her hospice, who I was NOT paying thousands a month to help me ensure she was taken care of. There were a handful of other incidents over the next 10 days. Keep in mind I still have NEVER received a call from Cameron Hall to tell me anything. On March 24th she called me about 11am, still bed ridden with severe back pain and now sick to her stomach. She said she couldn’t stop throwing up. Imagine the pain for a 90lb 92 yo woman with back pain… She said the nurse had told her over an hour ago that she would be back with meds but never came back. She was crying and sounded so very weak. (This is so hard to write) I called and asked AGAIN why and was told they were going to investigate and get her taken care of. I tried calling my grandmother back many times between that call and 5pm. I also thought I would hear from Cameron Hall to let me know what was going on. I tried calling them back but couldn’t get anyone to answer there either. At 5pm, her hospice team, NOT Cameron Hall called to tell me that she had passed. I NEVER received a call from Cameron Hall about her care

Cameron Hall Canton was nice and I liked it. There were actually some men there as well as women. The facilities were very nice and the rooms were fairly spacious. The community leader was very knowledgeable and nice. The staff was very nice. I didn't see anything I didnt like. It was an older facility, so it wasn't as super clean as a brand-new facility.

I visited Cameron Hall in Canton, and I liked it better than other places. It was all one level, the parking was better, but it was more assisted living. It was very clean, the people were very nice, upfront, and everybody seemed very friendly. They would not deliver her meals, and unless she was sick, she would have to come to the dining hall. The staff was very nice, and very pleasing to talk to. They were all very professional, and I cannot say enough nice things about them.

Cameron Hall is our number one choice. I really liked the rooms because it didn't feel like a small dorm room and felt really comfortable. The staff seemed like they were interested in the members of the community. They have all kinds of activities on- and off-campus, like bingo and cards. We were offered a very informative seminar for VA benefits. They even served us food, which was made on-site and tasted delicious.

The tour at Cameron Hall was short and fast. The staff wasn’t as friendly; that made us make the decision as our mother in law was going to be in the Alzheimer’s memory care. While we were sitting talking with the lady, there was a lady that came in. They had activities for the residents, but we were not given a calendar.

The rooms at Cameron Hall were very nice. I was interested in the memory care part, and I was very impressed with it. The personnel were very professional, seemed to know exactly what they were talking about, and care about the patients and were interacting with them. I was impressed with the activities, the facilities, the common areas, and the gardens. I really liked it. They had a beauty parlor for the ladies to go get their hair done once a week.

Cameron Hall was very beautiful, well organized, and clean. It looked like a home or a hotel instead of a facility. The director was very friendly and kind. I liked her. The rooms were large enough, very simple, and clean. The grounds were well maintained and neat. The location was hard to find but not impossible. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Cameron Hall of Canton was fine except that they could not provide the amount of care that I need for my husband. Everything I saw at this facility was good. I met a couple of people who gave me the tour. The dining area, and the rooms were fine. It was an older facility so it’s not as modern as the other facilities.

Cameron Hall of Canton has a secure memory unit. You need a code to get in and out of the residents’ place. The staff are very good, very caring, and that sort of made my mind at ease. My mom is being helped by hospice because she is in the latter stage of Alzheimer’s, so that kind of enriches the kind of care she gets. But they are very nurturing, very caring people. I think it really is a good facility. She has her own room, and it’s really nice. She has her own private bathroom. She’s got cable TV. She has a nice view of the gazebo, like a little garden outside. It’s very nice. They interview each resident or the family of the residents to find out the things that the residents used to like to do, and then they try to tailor the activities to pull them in to participate in these activities.

The room was nice, but limited in storage and space. It was big enough if you didn't have that much furniture, but it had a nice closet. You'd have to put in a few storage type things like a chest of drawers. It was very clean. The people were very friendly. The outside had large old trees that kept it shaded. Everything seemed very nice, and it was not on a busy road. They had shopping, projects, and crafts, and people come in that did different things with them. The residents seemed very happy and content. Having talked to one of them who had only been there four months, she was really loving it. The overall presentation of Cameron Hall was very high. They also kept a pet there.

Cameron Hall is one of the original Assisted Living communities in the Canton area; they have a very good reputation in the community. They are corporately owned now as of 2013, which seems not to have effected their small-town, homey feel when you visit. The staff is amazing, everyone is willing to assist and/or help. Cameron Hall is a bit older but with new ownership, decor upgrades are expected; for the age of the community, it seems to have been well taken care of. The staff and feel of the community can compete with any brand new community out there because you just get a "special" feeling when you visit Cameron Hall. You get the feeling that they really care for your loved one as they would their own.

My wife didn't like the floor plans at Cameron Hall. It wouldn't be to my wife's suiting, which means that it wouldn't be to my mother-in-law's suiting. That's not a negative thing. But the facility itself is clean and a little bit older. The staff was helpful and very attentive to the people there. There was a personal touch to it. They would stop and talk if they're going down the hallway. They seemed to know what the residents were doing, so they could engage in a short conversation. The location in Georgia was nice because the weather down there is a lot milder. It looked like a nice place to live.

Cameron is close to my church and my doctors. I have a lot of fiends there. The rooms were nice, not real big, but some bigger than others, and cheerful-looking. The pictures on the wall are really neat. The food looks very good and very interesting, and I’ve never heard anybody complaining about the food. The staff is good and made you feel comfortable. They send me a list of activities monthly. They invited me to come to the Easter egg hunt. They had exercise, Bingo, and music.

My wife is in Cameron Hall. She has only been there a couple of months, but we're happy with what they're doing. She was in another place, but they had water damage, so we needed to find another place. This one was close by and had good recommendations, so that's why we decided to go there. They provide what she needs. It has somebody cleaning everyday. We're pleased with the staff. It has 2 rooms, a bedroom and a sitting room. Most of the time, she's pleased with the food. Everything seems to be fine.

Cameron Hall's staff was excellent. They were very friendly and entertained us when we had our visit there. They spent a lot of time telling us about the people; who my dad would live when he would live there. It’s an old building, but is nice and everything is very clean. The halls are bright, but then it just had a different feel.

I find Cameron Hall pretty good, but they weren't as good at keeping the facility clean and fresh and smelling good. However, their rooms were much more spacious than others we saw. They did have excellent staff and I have no complaints about them. They have very good help there.

this is one of the smaller type of facilities the staff were great and i could tell they have somewhat personal relationships with the residents. one employee was combing one of the seniors hair and singing a nice calming song.
