Serenades at The Villages is a memory care facility only and had the services I was primarily interested in. I was impressed with the competent staff. I just felt confident that my wife will be safe and well-cared for. They have music, craft, and exercise programs.

They only do memory care at Serenades at The Villages, which set them apart from the other facilities. They do so much with their residents, and it's all geared towards memory care. It's great because it will be more focused on what my father needs. If anything was to happen to my stepmother and I had to put her into some type of assisted living or independent living, she wouldn't be able to be anywhere near him. I can't come down to take her to visit him or vice versa, so that was a red flag for me. They don't take Medicaid either. Other than that, the facility was beautiful. The rooms were very nice. Everything was great there. We got there a little later in the day, so we didn't get to see as much interaction. When we got there, there was a couple who were sitting together watching television. There was a staff member who was sitting with them, and there was another resident there as well. The sales director took us on the tour, and he was fabulous. He made us feel very welcome. He understood what we are going through, what we have to do, and how hard it is. He was really good. He had a lot of stories. He was a problem solver. There was a woman who was freaking out about not having cash on her, but you can order fake money. They have things like that to make the residents feel comfortable. They have ways to interact with them, so you get the response that you're looking for. All the menus and activities looked good. Everything was great. Their facility was fabulous. They even have something to help with sundowning. They have some light things put into the ceiling. That was the only facility that we saw that. Their outdoor courtyard was really, really nice. It's in the middle of the buildings. The buildings are making a square around the courtyard. They could go outside, and you don't have to worry about them running off or escaping. For every door, they need a key. Nobody could walk in and out. You have to have either a key fob or a code or something, so that was really nice, just to have that sense of security that he would not be able to get up and just walk out.

My mother-in-law will be in here. It's excellent, they're well-trained, and have enough staff. The place is extremely clean with enough amenities and outside transportation. Their dining area is very bright, clean, easy to access, and the whole facility is one level. In terms of the rooms, there are three different types, but the room she got was private, and that was large. There's more than enough room and good closet space. It's clean and extremely well-maintained. People go through a training system every 90 days, it's kind of like refresher training for them. They've got card rooms, outside terraces, they've got places for if you want to plant stuff, a little putting green, and they've got a thing for little shows. The staff is very accommodating.

Serenades at the Villages was beautiful. The facilities were very nice, neat, and clean. The staff was very friendly and the person who toured me was very helpful. He offered to find me, someone, to contact to look for other places. They showed me a calendar of activities and there was music and arts. Also before COVID, they had people coming in to do different presentations for them. They had private rooms and they had a shower that was wheelchair accessible. They had a nice courtyard with flowers that the residents could go out and sit in, too. It's just that my dad needs more care than they could give.

Serenades at The Villages was awesome. They're highly qualified and trained. The property is extraordinarily beautiful, very aesthetically relaxing, and beautiful, and it is obviously well thought out. The entire home has been meticulously designed for people with Alzheimer's. They're very, very well trained and very competent, and they have some absolutely wonderful entertainment going on that many of the residents attended. There was a lady singing karaoke, they had about six of the residents dancing, and these are all just Alzheimer's patients -- there's nothing but memory care. Just to see them stimulated and have that kind of interaction, it's really, really beautiful. I like it a lot, and it's a fairly competitive price. They gave me menus and things, and I saw the dining area.

I've toured Serenades at The Villages. It's very nice, but very expensive though. It's a very nice place. It's very good. The staff I've interacted with (and there hasn't been that much) seemed very, very nice. They have private rooms, which is just a room with a little seating area and a bath. Then they have a room for two people, and they're kind of divided by a wall. They are a little bit cheaper, but not by much. Everything looked nice, and the place smelled nice. They have a nice courtyard. They have it all done by neighborhoods. They would have like seven or eight people in one neighborhood, and they have a name for it. They have a place for them to eat there. It is done really nice, actually. I like the way they have everything done.

Serenades at The Villages was very nice. Just from what they told me, they have people who would take care of people with memory problems and they do the whole thing. You can get physical therapy if you need it. The rooms are situated so that if a person needs help, they can press a buzzer and help would come. They were placed so that people with dementia would have a nice courtyard. The rooms were very nice. It was all made up for people strictly with dementia. I went there twice. I was really happy the first time, I was happy the second time but not as much so.

My husband was a resident here for 9 months. He was admitted when Caroline was the director. All went great until she left, and the care deteriorated quickly. There was a frequent staff turnover, and pretty soon I did not know anyone's name. For the last month that my husband was there I never visited him when he was clean and dry. On 2 occasions he was sitting in feces and stated that he could not get anyone to help him. I wrote multiple times to the director without any improvement in his care. I moved him to another facility and have been much happier. Stay away from this facility. There are too many other options in his area. You do not have to place your loved one in a subpar facility.

My father-in-law was in Serenades for a few weeks before he passed away. The Serenades was wonderful and had nice things for him to do. The environment was very good. It was very clean and organized. They had outside people come in to do programs with them. In each wing, they had their own separate dining area with meals served family-style. They also had food choices from a menu, which was very nice.

We loved Serenades because they have an outsourcing activities program that was very impressive and the facility was new, very clean, very nice, lovely, and beautiful. They have people who come in from the outside instead of the staff to work on puzzles, drawing, and painting to keep the residents busy.

Mom is in Serenades by Sonata in The Villages. The room is very nice. She doesn’t have a separate bedroom as she had before, but the size of the room is fairly close to what she had at the other facility. One of the things we really like about this community is that the building itself is built like a donut around an outside beautiful garden. Mom can go out to the garden whenever she wants. They watch it with cameras rather than having somebody sit with you. The staff has been very nice. They have been very helpful. Many of the staff have worked for other places. I have had three staff members say that they think that Serenades is the nicest place they’ve ever worked at, and that they’re very responsive to the residents; so that’s good to know. They have activities, and some of them are for memory. The residents have their own living room, and their own dining room. They are eating with a smaller group of people that serve family-style. Mom seems to be OK with the food.

This community is far superior than any other community in The Villages area for providing assisted living memory care. Their staff is highly trained to provide assistance with specialized memory care needs. They have awesome food and the rooms are extremely nice.

There were quite a few people at Serenades, and I like their philosophy of how they deal with mental care folks. My father-in-law loves the food. He likes the quietness. He likes the facility. It was a very large room, and we were able to get his bed plus a couple of chairs like a sitting area with his TV in it so it was a really great setup for him. The staff was very good and knowledgeable. They work with him very well. We love them.

Serenades is fairly new; however, we just can't afford it. It was a nice place. It was great. The rooms were set up nicely there. The room was not large, but it was spacious enough. There was a couch in the middle of the room, furnishings, and a television. Serenades had a nice dining room. Activities seemed to be good. They had a ratio of 3 to 4 staff to 15 residents. They were doing movies, and they had people coming and playing music and stuff like that.
