My aunt moved to Superior Residences of Niceville. It's clean. They do a good enough job with that, and I feel that she is safe. It's a newer facility. They come and check on her every so often and they're quick. One day she fell on the floor three different times, and the last was the fourth time. One time I refused to let them take her to the hospital because the EMT said she's fine, but so they're quick to send them to the E.R., which I guess is a good thing, but three times in one day is ridiculous. If you fell two times, then somebody needs to put their eyes on her. I haven't personally tried their food, but I have sat in there with her many times. The food was new, personal, but I can't really say it was very appetizing looking, but of course, you're dealing with elderly people and it's going to be bland, but it doesn't need to be totally bland. The amount of liquids they give her at dinnertime would be equivalent to orange juice, like a small glass of orange juice that you might drink in the morning, like probably six ounces, and that's simply not enough. The activities are not enough. What I think, they're really not very good. They do things like tossing a balloon up in the air and people batting it. I look at it, and it would be hard to improve that.

We got my dad moved into Superior Residences of Niceville. We had a chance to visit with Lisa, who gave us the tour. She helped us with all the paperwork and everything. It was just a very pleasant experience. They are very down to earth and honest people. It felt like a good fit for my dad, and we're praying that it works. He has dementia, so that is tough. They have more staff than where he was before, so I think that will help. They have a movie night, and they have church service every Sunday. They have things I think he would enjoy doing very much and things that would be beneficial to help him with his day-to-day life. I feel good about their services. When you walk in, it's bright, cheerful, and very welcoming. When we got there with my dad, they had a red carpet laid out with a little sign saying, 'Welcome.' When you go into either side of assisted living or the memory care, there are wide open places to walk that are bright and cheerful, too.
