My dad moved to Wyndham Lakes. They include a table and a mini refrigerator. They served three meals a day. They do laundry. They administer his medications. They help him with showers. They seem to be pretty active and have lots of activities going on. The food looks pretty good. They have bingo card storytelling. They had performers. They have TVs everywhere with sofas, so everybody can sit around and watch TV together.

My brother is happy with Wyndham Lakes. He's on the ground floor apartment that is close to the front door, and the doors are all automatic open. He uses a walker, but he doesn't have far to go to get to the dining room and everything else that they have available. They have a salon, a library, and a movie theater. They have sitting areas where you can play games and cards. They have events every once in a while. They have an entertainer and church services there on Sunday and possibly other days. You can go take their transportation services supplied at Wyndham Lakes. They have various outings, too, whether it's a restaurant or some kind of shopping for people who could do that. It's nice. My brother has a screened-in porch. There is an area where he has access to a washing machine and a dryer right down the hall from him. My brother's apartment is comfortable, so he is settling in okay. They have common areas. They have different types of entertainment scheduled. Besides a huge dining room that's well-staffed, they have other rooms adjacent that are big gathering areas to do whatever. They have various hobby groups that gather in those areas. They have a common room right by the front door of each of these building units. Right at the front end, before you walk out of the building, from all these different apartments, there is a nice sitting area with a nice big round table and some sofas. There are areas throughout the establishment where you could sort of spend some time. And the nurse's station is close to where people require 24/7 care. The building is not brand new but it's well-maintained. It has access to nature. When you walk out of your building, everything is covered. The walkways have a roof all along them, so you're protected from the elements, but you are out in nature more that way. When you ask the staff questions, they will direct you to get the correct answers. They also remind you and check with you. When I was there, I was eating with my brother for about two weeks and we both liked what we were having. They have some pretty good recipes there.

Wyndham Lakes was nice and clean, and the rooms and everything we saw were in good repair. The residents seemed to be nice, clean, and happy. The staff was very nice. We had no complaints. I like the room situation they have. They have one roommate in a room. They don't have a whole bunch of people sleeping in a room because I don't think my dad would be very comfortable sleeping in a room with a whole bunch of different people. In each room, they have a bathroom, their own sink, and everything.

I was seeking a new assisted living facility for my brother. He eventually decided to rent an apartment rather than go into a facility. Even so the staff at Wyndham was very helpful and rescheduled our visit more than once.

I went to Wyndham Lakes. I only met the site director; she was excellent. There was a sense of community there. The room that I looked at was small, it was fine, it was a small room sort of layout. There really wasn't much of a layout. It was just an open room.

My mother-in-law is not at Wyndham Lakes yet, but that's the place we chose with the person that I was consulting with. This person was very caring. She helped me understand my mother-in-law's needs. She evaluated and understood what was in my mother-in-law's best interest to help the family understand that this is what's good for her in alleviating the stress from the family. My mother-in-law is a level one for memory care. So, she'll be in assisted living, but they'll give her level-one care. She will have her roommate, which we're all okay with. To me, the facility was phenomenal. It was nice. It wasn't smelly. Even the people that we interacted with and the residents were very nice and forthcoming. So, I think it was just the comfort that she needed.

My tour at Wyndham Lakes was great. Everything was set up for us. They showed us all of the amenities. We got to see the dining areas. Everything was clean. I was particularly impressed that there was no smell, and that there was no one like in pajamas. People were dressed, and people were up and moving around. The staff who gave me the tour was great. She was very friendly. She was prepared for our visit. She had our pamphlets and everything ready. She was knowledgeable. Some of the directors came out and met us as well, which was good. They gave us financial information and resource information, which was also very helpful.

Wyndham Lakes was very clean. We liked it. My friend liked the way it was set up. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They gave us some baked cookies and they were really good. It was very nice. Instead of the place looking like an assisted living program or old folks' home, it didn't look like that. It looked like individual apartments. It felt homey. It felt like a place that you wouldn't mind living in. It was well-kept. Everything was nice. Everything was really neat and clean. The place even smelled nice.

I went to Wyndham Lakes. It was great. I got all the information I needed. I was able to tour a typical room, which I appreciated. The staff was good. The person who gave the tour was very informative and personable. The rooms were very nice. I love the rooms with the screened-in porch, and the grounds were nice. The building itself looked a little tired and very old. The decor was a little depressing. The coat of white paint needed some updating.

The salespeople at Wyndham Lakes seemed very friendly, and the staff seemed attentive. The rooms looked rather nice. I toured a 1-bedroom, and it seemed OK. They had a salon and other activities. There were nurses and staff all around, but I didn't talk to anyone personally. The place seemed OK, but it was a little old. It seemed like a nice place.

At Wyndham Lakes, I did like that everything was located on one floor, there was no upstairs. I liked that some of the rooms had a screened porch. Its appearance was OK, but to me, it seemed dark in the interior. Two of the common rooms were just dark, dark wood. I guess maybe that was on purpose. The lighting was dark. They had a media room, which was lovely. Maybe they were boxing up Christmas stuff, but it seemed like I walked past storage stuff that could have been placed somewhere else on the way to the media room. They do have in-house pet birds, which I thought was cute, but maybe they could have been located somewhere else. I saw nobody paying them any mind. I liked that they had their patients wear an alert kind of thing around their neck, in case they were to fall. The individual I spoke with was a corporate person from further down south who had come up to assist. The reason being that it was very busy. I couldn't help but think that they were busy because they had personnel issues. The facility was clean, but it was not appealing to me.

I toured Wyndham Lakes. The people were great. I talked to some of the residents there, and they all seemed very happy with the place. The studios were a little smaller than I thought they might be. But overall, it seemed very clean, and the people were very nice. The staff interacted with the people that walked by constantly. Some had pets, and that was nice. They went from home to that, and were able to transition with their pets, too. I thought that was nice. They had a gym, a library, and all that stuff.

Wyndham Lakes was very clean, and the grounds were beautiful. I liked the fact that they have enclosed outdoor areas where the residents can still look at nature. There were several little ponds and lakes in the place and geese were running all over the place. I loved that they would take pets. We saw people walking their dogs in the green space. The facility sat in a nice wooded area and it's just a beautiful place. It was probably only an hour after the last person would have been in the dining room eating, and the place was already immaculately cleaned up. They had a couple of samples of what they'd served at lunch out, and it looked good. The person who took us around was very knowledgeable and was good to talk to. The apartment that I saw had a little kitchenette and room for a couch and a television, and there was still plenty of room to move around. The bedroom was beautiful and the bathroom had bars.

I liked that Wyndham Lakes wasn't so concentrated, it was pretty spread out. It was a large campus with covered walks. Everything was on the first floor. They had multiple lunch rooms. I liked that they had Brooks Rehabilitation on-site. The rooms were large, but they didn't have the safety pull in the bedroom. They just had one in the bathroom. The rooms seemed like they didn't have locks on the doors, which would not work for my mother. They had a lot of variety as far as the food menus were concerned. They had a Catholic mass there, which was good.

I toured the Wyndham Lakes. They showed me a 1-bedroom on the lake. You have to bring your own microwave and a refrigerator. There's just a little refrigerator there and their kitchen area is not as nice as mine here where I currently live. They have chairs and tables with umbrellas everywhere. The staff was very knowledgeable and personable. I like him. They provide three meals a day. You go in the front door and that's all air-conditioned. But at the end of the hall, when you go out of your hall, it's all open. It was hot when I was there. That's the biggest downfall of that place. Prices are much lower in Wyndham than where I live now, though.

When I visited Wyndham Lakes, I liked the sales director that gave me the tour. She was just phenomenal. She was very knowledgeable and very empathetic. I had nothing negative to say about the place. We looked at both private and shared memory care rooms. There's no furniture or anything like that. You bring your own. The place was pretty good.

I like Wyndham Lakes, but they didn't have any amenities that would be helpful for me. The apartments were nice, but they didn't have as much storage as the other place. It was very lovely. I could see myself living there, it is just that I'm interested in all the other things at the other place. They have laundry facilities in each building, but they didn't have them in your unit. Also, they just have a kitchenette in the unit. They didn't have any kind of cooking. They had a microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink and that's it. They're at the minimum, but they serve three meals a day there. I looked at the menu, and it looked really good, and the people were really happy there. They had a library, a little lake, and a lot of seating areas outside. The walkways were covered. The price was about the same, but I can get so much more at the other place for the same price. Everybody was friendly, nice, and helpful. However, the place is older, probably 1950s or 1960s construction. Nevertheless, it was very clean and very well maintained.

Wyndham Lakes was rather old and rundown. I wasn't very impressed with it at all. I didn't notice a lot of activity or things like that. I was neither impressed nor unimpressed with the staff. The apartment was small. There was a courtyard. The lady who showed me around was nice.

Wyndham Lakes was very friendly. You could tell they had good spirits. The facility was clean and felt homey. We saw residents playing with the activities coordinator while some were doing physical therapy. There was a lot of bustling activity going on. The residents seemed comfortable, and looked like life was good for them. The rooms were orderly and would accommodate your needs. It had nice and up-to-date furnishings.

Wyndham Lakes was old and the rooms are in different buildings. There were so many of them. They showed me a room that's up close, but the numbers that I was given were much higher. It was like $2400 plus. Then if my mom gets assistance, it was up $2800. It wasn't a nice enough facility that I would put my mom in there. The rooms were also too small and it seemed like they had way too many people there for that facility. Each building probably housed about 20 or more people. The lunch area was small. The game room is tiny. It was just too crowded.

I visited Wyndham Lakes assisted living. It's a nice community for people that need that and doesn't have families. The dining area seems more like a family dining environment. Cleanliness could be improved. I saw a beauty salon. The nice part is they have a lot of areas for the residents to get out and walk and they have fountains and things like that and I thought that was nice. I have been in other assisted living facilities which were smaller and cleaner. This one seemed like it wasn't as clean and neat as it could be on the inside.

Wyndham Lakes is a bigger facility. I liked that everybody's on the first floor, which was nice. They try to accommodate who's more mobile than others. They try and provide a room closer to the activity center, if you have a little more trouble walking than others. They also have a memory care section that they were able to show me as well. I thought it was a nice, comfortable place. I got to see the room in the assisted living, but we had an interruption. We didn't get to finish the whole tour. The rooms were similar in the memory care area. There wasn't a lot more to see once we walked the memory care area. She was gonna show me another room, but I had to go. They had some ladies playing cards and some guys hanging out. They had a library. I really only met one individual. She took me on the tour, and she was very nice. She took my information and gave me the information I needed. She also took me on the tour. It's a little older facility than what I saw afterwards, but I wasn't opposed to staying at that one at all. It would've been comfortable for my mom.

I visited Wyndham Lakes. I visited the entire facility. I was looking for independent living. It was a place that I would not even consider. Everything there is painted brown, and it looked old. The rooms and their dining area were brown and old. There probably was nothing wrong with the facility, and it looked like it was clean, but it was an old clean. In the independent living rooms that I got to look at, I had seen other locations that were probably the same size, but these looked smaller, and they looked depressing. I only spoke with one staff, and she was exceptionally nice. I noticed that there were people around the facility, and it looked like they were moving around and active, but for their specific activities, I only saw their calendar, and that's all that I saw. They seemed to have amenities available, but it was so depressing, that I just couldn't pay attention to them. I liked that the independent living facilities allowed you an area outside to have a small garden, but that brownness about everything was just depressing for me.

Wyndham Lakes was like an old college campus type of setup. The food was good, but it was old. They didn't seem to have enough staff, but I was there on a weekend, so I don't know if it's better during the week. When I went into the memory care, it smelled like urine. It didn't have a lot of common areas like the other facilities and not a lot of activities. They got discounted prices though, so that was a good thing if you're on a low budget.

Wyndham Lakes was a good facility, but money-wise, we can't afford it and the price is not fixed. It depends on the level. They showed that at one level, the prices could increase dramatically, so that was the biggest concern. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. He gave a great tour, showed us around and provided all the information which I have requested. I saw a few rooms. It's acceptable. It's not brand new, but it's pretty much clean and everything looked good. The dining room was good.

Wyndham Lakes is a very open campus-like facility. There's a lot of energy among the residents. My mother was instantly welcomed and invited to join in several activities. It just seemed like a friendly, comfortable community-based residence. It was an independent living plus. The staff during the tour was very friendly, would leave us to talk and kind of just have a relaxing experience. He was very good. The facility was kind of worn, but the rooms were very spacious with a detached screened patio. Out of the other facilities that I looked at, they seemed to have the most spacious, inviting room size for what we were looking for. They have gardening and small groups of people to join in and have a conversation with. People were up and about and involved in activities. They had a nice library and a nice, open dining area. They're my #1 choice.

We went to Wyndham Lakes. We liked it because it was all on one level. They had little back porches for each apartment. It's a little bit of an older place, and it was farther than we wanted to go distance-wise. I had a couple of sisters that wouldn't go that far out. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice. His name was Don and he was very nice. The rooms were fine. They were up the handicapped code, but the doors weren't as wide as they put in the newer buildings now and things like that. The dining area looked nice. Because the rooms were separated, it just seemed you were more secluded. They had crafts, puzzles, and reading. They took them to doctors and things, but not where they took them on field trips.

My mother will be moving into Wyndham Lakes. We liked it because of its reasonable cost, and they were willing to work with us on various issues and items. The place is very nice and has great location. It's not too far from clinics, and they have on-site staff for nursing and doctors that will visit. They can handle quite a bit of things locally. They have a salon, a beauty shop, a little country store, and the restaurant cafe for eating. The staff were very good, very friendly, and willing to work with us. The dining room looks really nice and is quite spacious. They had multiple ones in different places. They do an excellent job from what I have been seeing.

I moved to Wyndham Lakes several months ago. What I like the most about the place are the residents. I know 3 of them and we all play cards every afternoon. There are things like bingo, they've got a beauty parlor or salon. The dining room is large. The place is large with a lot of buildings, and most of the rooms have patios. They keep it pretty well clean and the staff is friendly. They serve us a lot of chicken but they hardly serve any legs.

We are trying to move my friend to Wyndham Lakes in Jacksonville. It was very nice, very clean, and the staff was very helpful during our tour. The studio's the only thing we looked at. It had a nice little patio, and we liked that a lot. They had a room where they could sit and watch movies. They had a game room where they could play games, and they had a nice outside area for walking around. We're trying to move him into their assisted living.

Wyndham Lakes is really good, the food too, the rooms are spacious. The lady who gave a good tour told us about all of the things there; have a lot of positive things. The staff is very attentive and everything. My brother has a 1-bedroom and it has a refrigerator, cable, they gave him 3 meals a day, physical therapy, and spiritual service. We will bring the bed and the TV but the room has everything and the bathroom is so cute. They have bingo, a movie theater, cafeteria, salon, a barbershop, they have 3 places to eat or cafeterias. It's well-equipped, safe, and secure. The staff is very patient and answered all my questions. They have a lot of food to choose from.

I have a friend staying at Wyndham Lakes currently. He just told us today it has been over 2 weeks since he has been given a bath. He cannot do it alone. Also, his room gets filthy before anyone comes to clean....weeks. He wears adult protective briefs and souls himself and no one comes in to clean him. He is wheelchair bound. I am calling Adult Protective Services Monday.

Don’t let that pretty picture of the grand piano and shiny floors fool you. Memory Care is one small hallway at the very back of the property. The dark hall is wide enough for one wheelchair and one person pressed against the shabby, dirty wall. A shared room is barely big enough for two twin beds and two wheelchairs. In my experience a shared room with people who are memory challenged don’t always remember what is theirs. Want your own toothbrush, better keep it on a string around your neck. Unless your loved one is doing something they shouldn’t be, they won’t get much attention. Neither will you if you call to check on your loved one. One star is too much, this place is a zero.

I'm in a regular ALF called Wyndham Lakes in Jacksonville. They give me my medicine, three meals a day, and that's about it. It's a one-bedroom apartment and it's the only thing my insurance will pay for. I've been here for a few months and I want to move out immediately. I get nothing here but hamburgers every day at lunch and dinner. I don't like cheese or fish, and that's the only other choice 90% of the time. The staff is alright, they make enough money here that they stay here, so I guess that's alright. The room is cramped, it's very small, and it's smaller than the bathroom I think. It has a kitchenette, but just a sink and maybe two to three foot area of table, or whatever you call that pan next to the sink. I'm sure they have some activities for seniors, but I don't know what because I don't talk to anyone and don't go to any meetings. I just sleep and watch TV.

We toured Wyndham Lakes. It's a very nice place, the tour was great, we saw everything, was impressed with everything, and we'll choose that when the time comes, but I have to have some cash out front which I don't have. The staff was very nice, very accommodating, it was very quiet, and it's a nice place to be. We saw a studio, I thought it was quite large, the only problem I saw was, I'd have a problem going into the bathroom, I could get in with a wheelchair, but it was very small, I would still have to maneuver out to the shower. They have various things going on each day, and each day they're different, just to get together, spend some time together, there is a movie theater, and they have a little store. It was extremely clean.

Wyndham Lakes is a lovely, well maintained community close to shopping, hospitals, entertainment etc. Fortunately it is all found on their campus also! The outdoor spaces are lovely especially needed & used in this COVID19 time. Of course the screened outdoor porches on most units are another positive. When there are maintenance problems, they are handled quickly. I have been particularly impressed with how well COVID 19 was handled, with good communication & practices enforced. My elderly friend especially enjoys the food-in spite of styrofoam deliveries- satisfaction has been maintained. Administration has been responsive to caregiver needs. My friend reports how everyone has been 'so nice'!

My parents had a studio with a screened porch. They loved the porch. Staff were great, friendly and things got done quickly and in a caring manner. As their Alzheimer’s advanced and more care needed, They were able to move into memory care with little disruption to their daily routine. Due to the Covid lockdown, they were unable to participate in activities but I gave it a great rating based on staff and things that I did see to help provide some activities during the lockdown. The facility has a great beauty salon/barbershop, on site physical therapy through Brooks rehabilitation,a beautiful pond with wildlife everywhere and all sidewalks are covered and very wide for ease of moving around throughout the facility.

Wyndham Lakes was pretty nice, and the price was a lot better than the others. They had three levels of care, independent living, intermediate, and memory care. It had a lot of open space, which wouldn't work for my mom because it would be harder for her to walk around. The apartments had little screened-in porches, which were nice. The assisted living rooms had just one big room and a bathroom, which were nice. It had a good atmosphere, and they provide a higher level of care. It needed a little bit of updating. They also had a Brooks Rehab on-site.

I will be moving to Wyndham Lakes. They take pets, they have a screened-in porch, and it was a nice regular-size apartment. The staff seemed very nice. The apartment has a bedroom, living room, a little kitchenette type thing, and a walk-in closet. The dining area seemed adequate and nice.

I have mixed feelings about Wyndham Lakes. They don't live up to what they presented in the sales department and the residential handbook they gave you. In the wing my father is in, he's farthest away from the nurses' station. The pendants they gave to alert if they need help are too far away, so they have no communication for an emergency if something happens. There are a lot of good things about it, so I hope that it can be fixed. The food, the friendliness of the people that live there, and the staff are better than most. I like that it's all on one level, and it's a big facility, so you have more space. They seem to watch out for the residents. I still would recommend it.

My father is at Wyndham Lakes. The staff members for the most part are wonderful, but they could improve on sticking to the schedule. If they say they'll be here at 6:00 a.m. for his shower and that they're putting him to bed at 9:00 p.m., and coming to get him for breakfast at such and such time, then they should be there and they're not always. They have bingo, physical therapy, they watch movies, there's happy hour, cards, brain teasers, and church. The hallways and the whole area is very clean.

I liked everything about Wyndham Lakes. It's an older place and I liked that the walkways in the hallways were not really brightly lit, but my partner didn't care for it. It had a wonderful entrance. The rooms were almost ideal for us. You have a screened-in porch and the whole area in front of that where you can go out and put in flowers or whatever you like. They allow pets. It's high on our list, but my partner was not overly enthused by the darkness of it. The residents were very happy. The staff member who showed us around was very professional, very helpful, and a good salesperson.

I toured the memory care level of Wyndham Lakes Jacksonville for my mom. It was a little more worn-looking. It felt a little more locked away and less open, but the activities people and the staff members who gave us the tour seemed to be engaged. I saw the rooms and they were OK, they just looked a little worn. The dining area was fine. The residents were all outside under a gazebo and they were doing an activity as a group. The staff member did fine during my visit and the facilities were average.

My mother has been an independent living resident for 5 months now. I am there at least once every 2 weeks so I have had a good look at how everything goes on there. She has been very comfortable and active in their various activities like choir, bingo and small trips such as to hear a symphony. The other residents were very welcoming. She is allowed to keep a pet, her cat, which is important for company and helping her feel at home. Each apartment has its own screened in porch which is priceless. The grounds are well maintained and pretty. The staff has been very kind and attentive. My mother sometimes complains about the food ("the chicken was dry last night!") but I often eat there with her and it is very decent and certainly much better and more nutritious than anything she would be capable of making for herself. Overall she seems healthy, comfortable and content.

My mother-in-law was at Wyndham Lakes memory care unit. We did not have a very good experience there. While she was there, they had no management. The manager that was in the memory care unit stopped coming in and they didn't have anybody to take her place. The overall executive director and the person in charge of the financial department were not there as well. They completely eliminated all of the positions, but they didn't have anybody filling them for a couple of months. Now they have a new executive director and financial manager. The place was floundering. The part for the independent care and the assisted living was pretty nice. The whole place was being remodeled. The part for the memory care wasn't as nice as the other places. They tried to keep it pretty clean, but it didn't get as much attention maintenance wise as the rest of the place did. Everything else in the facility was beautiful, except for the memory care unit, which was not as nice. Some of the staff member were really good, but some lacked leadership.

I toured this facility looking for my parents who live out of state. My budget was under $2500. I was shocked to see they could accommodate us with a beautiful screened in porch apartment and meals and an emergency pendant. I couldn’t believe they actually let residents who need nurses to do insulin for them live here but it’s true. I thought my parents would have to go to a nursing home but it looks like I can have them moved in and they can be independent but still get care. I think I’m signing them up in June. They live in Illinois but I think I can get them to move in before Labor Day. Thank you for helping me with this

This community is making changes thru out with new looks, new furniture etc. however the activities in the building are limited, the Director is not professional and not trained in dementia. Entertainment is limited, residents are sitting around looking for something to do. The area in the building which has improved is the food, the director listens to residents and provides a daily menu with choices and visits with residents, the Director actually cares about people and trained. The executive director is no where to be found most days.. Pacifica needs to hire trained professionals and visit the building and speak with residents.

I wasn't very impressed with Wyndham Lakes. You have to travel outdoors all the time to get from one building to another. It was very open, which didn't appeal to me -- what about when there is rainy weather. It looked rather cold. It just wasn't as friendly and warm-looking as the other place I visited. The person who assisted me during the tour didn't seem to be quite as knowledgeable and didn't seem to spend as much time going over what was really important to know. I wasn't terribly impressed.

Wyndham Lakes was not in one building. They had covered walkways, which was nice, but not for a person who can't walk a lot or doesn't choose to. You have to leave that building to go to the dining room or do other activities. They had independent, assisted, and Alzheimer's care. You can have your own apartment with a kitchen. It wasn't as nice as the others, but it's more affordable. The dining room was wonderful and open all day, so you don't have to go to dinner, lunch or breakfast at a certain time. They had a nice menu. They're doing lots of improvements, and doing the whole reception area and the dining room.

My mother-in law loved Wyndham Lakes, and we toured that place four times. That was her preference, and that's where she planned to go. She loves the people, the staff is great, very informative, and very accommodating, and the residents are great. They are currently renovating. They have a Lanai, the animals are friendly, and she can bring animals.

My mom really enjoys Wyndham Lake Jacksonville. Everyone seems so cordial and very attentive to the residents. It seems like it is very homey. There was a lady there that my mom already knew, so that makes it very convenient for her to get comfortable. My sister and my mom go there on Saturdays, and since she really likes it, my brother and I have her back there on Sundays. We talked to Julie in marketing, and she told us that there is no problem coming back as many times with any of the family members. They are very helpful with the process of paperwork.

Everybody was nice when you walk in at Wyndham Lakes Jacksonville. I looked at a room, and it was quite small. They had a nice gym. It was not a new building, and they only had one floor, which I thought was good. I thought the dining area was very open.

Wyndham Lakes was very clean, and the staff was very approachable and caring. They were very good in what they did respective to their job. Mom was at Wyndham Lakes before she died eight days ago. The experience was very good. We never had any regrets with this facility. She had a roommate, and they allowed us to furnish the room to our taste. There were 14 rooms in the memory care unit. The staff were all very friendly. We've been getting some cards and phone calls from the nurses there after Mom died, and we appreciate that. I've eaten there, and the food was healthy and fresh. We were pleased about how every table had its own waiter.

Mom had been to Wyndham Lakes. It was a one-story building, and it had like an elementary school setting, and they had different buildings. Each one might have 10 apartments in it, and they were connected by walkways. Each building had a little seating area in the front. There was a bigger area, where the dining room was, and it was like a hotel lobby. They had a pond with trees, and it was OK. When she first came there, she just came from rehab for breaking her leg. She was having trouble getting her leg up on the bed, and she asked the lady if she could help get her leg up onto the bed. She said: "If you can't lift your leg, you can't be here." She had a small one-bedroom apartment, and it had a bathroom and kitchenette with a small refrigerator and a sink. I don't think it had a microwave, but you could have one, and I thought she had her own. It was enough room for a dresser, a chair, and a twin bed. That wing smelled all the time like sewage. I would walk in and gag. The kitchen-dining room was right around the corner, and I was wondering if it was the food or the something leaking. Whatever it was, it smelled bad. When I asked them about it, they said: "Oh, it was the drain," but it was pretty consistent. However, their food was pretty good, and the people who worked in the dining room served them their food, and they were very nice, and they treated the residents very well. Then she moved over to the other building, which was more independent and had that little bedroom with the kitchenette, and they had a porch. She was OK over there, but she didn't get as much help as she felt that she needed, like bathing and dressing.

My mom is living at Windham Lakes now. She just liked that facility better than the others. The people there are very pleasant and very helpful. The rooms were older than some of the other places we've looked at, but they're clean and painted. She's got a one-bedroom and she's very happy with it. They play Bingo, they have cards, and other games. She seems like she's adjusted pretty good to the place. She said the food is good. She's meeting people, and I think it's what she likes most.
