My dad's room at Harbor Chase of Mandarin was super clean, super fancy, and nice. It's right up his alley, he feels like he's at a country club so he likes it a lot. The staff is very attentive and very nice, they're very cool. They attended to our needs, answered all our questions. We had a couple of questions at first and they put us at ease, so it was really good. We had Thanksgiving dinner there or Thanksgiving lunch there. It was fantastic, they had awesome food, really good food. He's bedridden right now so he can't get out and do stuff so they have to drag him out there and put him in a wheelchair. But everybody's having a lot of fun with the activities around there, they have live music and all kinds of different things.

HarborChase of Mandarin was really nice, clean, and very big. They had a lot of amenities, but they were not useful for someone who lives in memory care. They had a movie theater, a spa, and a gym. All in all, it was a beautiful facility, but it's not the right place for my dad. The dining area was more like a restaurant. It had very nice tables and chairs, and it smelled really good. To be honest, I want to move there myself. But for memory care, it seemed too fancy and overpriced. I didn't have the feeling they would give enough care for my dad because there were so many residents there, and we didn't see that many nurses and caregivers.

HarborChase of Mandarin was clean, light, airy, and spacious. They had lots of activities and amenities. The salesperson was very patient, very understanding, and answered a lot of our questions. The apartments were clean, also airy, and had lots of natural light. The kitchens were a little large. They do Bible studies, they had a book club, a men's club, a gym and workout area, a movie theater, a lounge bar, a billiard room, outdoor activities, an outdoor kitchen, two outdoor seating areas, and gardens.

We completed a tour at HarborChase of Mandarin assisted living. The place was amazing and we liked it. The people were super nice. The staff was also very friendly and courteous. I didn't see a room because there were none available at the moment. They had karaoke and a piano bar open. The dining areas were very nice, they had more than one. They had two, or maybe three. They had a coffee bar too and a lot of really nice stuff. I've only tried their desserts and it was okay. It was sugar-free. The staff who gave us the tour was very professional. She was very nice and very helpful.

My father moved in December 2020 during the pandemic. Even though he is on the Independent side of the facility, he frequently has staff members checking up on him and his well being. The staff has been very cautious with their residents and following Covid procedures. I feel their requirements for caregivers fair and expected for the safety of their residents and their families. The facility is beautiful and resort like, not hospital like. My father raves about the meals and the overly friendly staff.

Do not consider moving a family member into this community...especially during the pandemic. I moved my Mom into the community in May and into a larger apartment in June. They allow 1 person from the family to move in during 1 day. The movers arrived in the afternoon and this left me 3 hours to unpack her belongings. Regrettably, more than half of her personal belongings were left unpacked. Despite repeated requests on coming in to unpack, 3 months later, no response. For instance, I sent a note (called...but went to VM) when my Mom woke up with symptoms that could have been attributed to Covid. I received no response from the Executive Director. I reached out to the facility NP that serves her community and she stopped by to check on my Mom. The community genuinely seems concerned about the spread of the pandemic which I appreciate. However, when I moved her out, I observed 1 staff member, 3 private duty aides/home health aides and 2 contractors without masks during a very limited time in the community. I would never recommend this community to anyone. The Executive Director fails to respond to communications. There are many more instances of individuals not responding, communicating except for when it comes to making a sale. I frequently heard about the many staffing shortages as an excuse for follow-up. BTW...there are many incredibly nice employees there who are absolutely lovely and do their best to help. Leadership at the community also fails to respond to issues and concerns in a timely manner OR at all. There are many lovely employees that work at the community.

HarborChase of Mandarin is beautiful and highly recommended to anybody. My mom moved in August and is staying in independent living. The staff and services are excellent. My mom enjoys bingo, cards, and exercise classes. It's absolutely wonderful, clean, and impressive. It's like a classy cruise ship. The food is wonderful and she doesn't like what they're having on the menu, they'll cook whatever she wants. They have a chef right on staff. The price is a little bit more but you get a lot more.
