I didn't care for Sugarmill Manor. It's very small. They don't have any activities. The facility is small and the rooms are as well. It's like a small bedroom. Everybody seemed to just stay in their room. No people were hanging out. The staff were fine. Everybody was pleasant. The food was so-so. The place can use a little TLC. Activities would be beneficial.

My mother was in Sugarmill Manor. It was the most disgusting place. They had mice and roaches. The staff was not kind to my mother at all. They would laugh at her. They would sit all the Spanish people on one side of the cafeteria away from everyone else. I thought it was discrimination. She wasn't even there for three weeks when I took her out. The food is horrible; I wouldn't feed that to my dog. I had some staff who were very loving and caring to my mother. I noticed the younger staff was very nice, very clean, and tried to help my mother. Then the older ladies were very mean, judgemental, and even discriminated against her. The management needs to be changed.

I found on my visit there that the staff was very friendly and caring. They also offered a lot of different activities for the patients there, some of them were bingo, cards, checkers among other things. They also had a chapel for those that wanted to attend church service. There were computers and internet access for those wishing to get online. I liked the fact that they had keyboards with large letters.
