I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My aunt moved to Sunflower Springs at Homosassa and it was great. The staff was great, they did a wonderful job with her, and they helped us almost babysit her until we got everything ready. They were just wonderful. She has her own room with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and like a little sunroom where she can go out of the room. They also had a happy hour at 3:00, which helped a lot. It was painted yellow so it was really bright, and all the staff was so cheerful and the place smelled good. The rooms were nice, they had a big courtyard, and all the residents seemed to really enjoy it. They were really helpful to us, they went right out and talked to our aunt. We visited several places, but we were just more in tune with this one than with any of the other ones. She has just one big room. They also had a one-bedroom but we didn't choose that. Her room has her bed, dresser, a small seat, recliner, big TV, and a shelf with her pictures and things on it. It has a refrigerator and big storage in the pantry, a microwave, cabinets, and a sink, and there's a walk-in closet. It is wonderful, its got a good-sized bathroom, and it has everything that we were looking for. The staff members were just so great, they've been really taking really good care of her. Ashley and Carly, they are the executives, and they were also really great and helped a lot. I haven't eaten there but they were having a celebration that day we toured, and they gave my aunt a crab cake, which looked great, and she said it was really good. They have bingo, movie nights, they have exercise classes, a big library, music, and ice cream socials. It was just a full day if they want to partake in it.

We decided on Sunflower Springs after visiting others in Area. The staff was great. Our aunt was apprehensive about leaving her home. She loves it. Has people to talk too. Staff are great with her.

I toured Sunflower Springs at Homosassa, which is all assisted living. They had doctors and nurses on call 24/7. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful. She answered my questions and answers my phone calls. They had a backyard and front porches with chairs, they've got a courtyard, a gym, they've got a salon, movie rooms, and an exercise room. But the exercise room doesn't have the equipment, there weren't treadmills or anything.

Sunflower Springs at Homosassa was very nice, but it was just a little big. Their dining area was lovely and nice, and the staff that I met were all very nice. I just felt it was not something I wanted, the facilities were great but I was looking for something a little smaller.

The people at Sunflower Springs at Homosassa were lovely, and the place was very clean and very nice, but the living areas I saw were very small. They were more like studios. They had a lovely courtyard and a library.

We looked at Sunflower Springs at Homosassa assisted living. The only drawback of the room we saw was the sink in the kitchenette area because it was way too small. It was just a bar sink. We went through the amenities very briefly and didn't get that far into it. It was pretty much just a walkthrough. Carla was excellent, she provided lots of information.

Sunflower Springs at Homosassa was an awesome place if you're looking for assisted living. It's gorgeous and I mean, it would be my choice just instantly, but they cannot take care of her, because it was strictly assisted living. It was beautiful, and the staff was just great. They were all really busy. I loved it, but they cannot accommodate my mother. The rooms were very light, beautiful, fresh-looking, they had like they had an icebox, they had a little table and chair so that if you wanted to go have lunch with your loved one, you could. The bedroom was separate from the little sitting-room, off by itself. The bathrooms were very nice and large and very accommodating for a wheelchair or walker or anything like that. I was very impressed.

We went to visit Sunflower Springs. The rooms are nice and spacious. Everything was perfect until we found out that it wasn't Medicaid approved. That was the only drawback. I would have definitely gone and had my cousin there immediately actually, but it's not Medicaid approved. They are in the works of doing that, but it won't be probably for a year or two. Other than that, they were very hospitable. The nurse was terrific. She showed us around. The dining area is very spacious. The hallways are very big, and you don't have to worry about tripping over people. There's a beautiful patio. You're allowed pets. It was perfect. They have a lot of different things. In fact, I have their menu and it is terrific. Their menu is healthy choices all the way through. They have a really healthy food selection. They've got bingo, chair exercises, cornhole, crafts, choir practice, wine tastings, sit and stretch, movies, cards and games, and social hours with bring-your-own booze.

Sunflower Springs was very nice. It's an older place, but it's kept very nice. They have a little grocery store inside. You can have a shared room or a single room. They have a beautiful courtyard and a lot of activities every day. They have a beauty salon. The staff was very nice. We ate there and the food was good. They have an ice cream parlor. They have it set up like it's a little town on the inside. It's really cute. It's an older building, but it's very well kept.

I toured Sunflower Springs, I like it and it was very, very nice. It's a bit on the pricey side, but they were very accommodating. The place was immaculately clean, and it smelled beautiful. The staff was very friendly and very helpful to the residents. All were smiling and they looked happy no matter where they were; waiting to go into lunch, outside on the back of the courtyard, or inside waiting for somebody to come. They all looked like they were very happy to be there. Some were sitting down on the porch smiling and talking with each other. I was impressed because apparently, they have a very caring staff there; the residents I talked to were all seem to be very pleased to be there. They liked where they were. The rooms were beautiful. The two I saw had carpet, and everything was immaculate. There was no dirt anywhere. They had two empty rooms that had just been cleaned, and they showed me one for my mother-in-law. One was a studio apartment, and the other was a 1-bedroom. They were both very clean, and well-appointed. It had a microwave and a refrigerator in the studio. I told someone this morning that if I had to be someplace, I would live there myself. The menu looks delicious, and they have their own choices. It's not like they have to eat what's put in front of them. They can have whatever they want for breakfast, and they have two or three choices for lunch, and several choices for supper. They have an ice cream parlor that they can go in and get a snack during the day. They have a happy hour; it's quite a nice place. They were waiting to get in the lunchroom, so I would imagine the food wasn't too bad. Four or five people were waiting to get in there. The staff was informative, and they were great. Just from what I saw on the menu and the smells that were in the dining room when we walked in there to look at it and judging by the people that were there, it looked like the food must have been pretty good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad has moved into Sunflower Springs. I would describe it as active and supportive. In the week he has been there, he has only said positive things about it. He loves the food. There's a lot of variety and options, so he likes that. His room is very spacious. It is beautifully upkept. It's a beautiful building. The staff has been very supportive and responsive to our concerns. They have front and back patios, gardens, and a courtyard. Mostly I like that my dad likes it, and he feels positive about being there in his space and how independent he can be.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband is at Sunflower Springs Homosassa, and I really liked that place. I visit him pretty much almost every day. It's like a tropical vacation place. It is just very cheery and very bright. They have an indoor garden where people can go out and sit. I think the food's good. All the people I've met there are very good and are very nice to the residents. I'm just really, really pleased that I was able to get them in there. A nonresident can't go in the residential dining room, but they have a special dining room that they call the family den, where you can eat with your family member. I think they charge like ten dollars for a meal. I've enjoyed the food every time I've eaten it. The place is always very clean and with comfortable places to sit. It's very, very homey, and it is just very comfortable being there. I don't think my husband has partaken in any of the activity, but they do have activities. They have bingo and that cornhole thing. They also actually have a happy hour at three o'clock. There's quite a bit for the residents to do. I am surprised with how cheap it is because I was expecting much more. They're doing physical therapy there with him. They're trying to get him to get up and get out and socialize, but he just wants to stay in his room right now.

Sunflower Springs looked nice to me. It was the first one we visited. I like it. The rooms were fine. The staff was a nice person. The director was very informative. The dining area looked like a dining room. The common area looked good. We talked to a few residents, and they like it there. The outdoor spaces were nice. They have nice garden, nice gazebo, and shuffleboard court. They have a cage where they're raising some live chickens and eggs. It's right by my house, so I like the fact that it's close.

I absolutely loved Sunflower Springs. I had a really good feeling about that place. They just didn't have memory care, but the people that live there were happy and the staff called them by their names. They had a library, an ice cream parlor, a place to get their hair done, and a little pub (where the ladies could go get ice cream and where men could go and have a talk if they wanted to). The rooms weren't huge, but they were set up nicely. I think they had a courtyard in the back too. There's not a lot of room in the front, it was just a parking lot; it was very nice out back. The person who gave us the tour was wonderful. I think he's not working there anymore. He actually took time off to go and stay with his dad, but everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. They also had a little hair salon and a movie room.

We choose Sunflower Springs for the price, the food, and the cleanliness. The couple of people I talked to were helpful, friendly, and informative. The food was good; my friend enjoyed it. The facility was really nice. It was clean, nicely decorated, and open. We were happy with what they had to offer.

My father is in Sunflower Springs. The staff has been phenomenal about working with all of the obstacles that are in place. I'm in Ohio, and my dad is in Florida. Trying to get him and his wife in the same place was a major challenge, and they went over and above to make it happen. They did everything that they could to accommodate the needs of the two of them and have the two of them stay together. My communication has been through the phone, but I made two trips to the facility. It seemed very clean, and the people were very nice. We can't interact with any of the residents due to COVID, but the interactions that I've had with the staff have been really good. I've never been inside of it, but the outside grass was kept up really nicely.

Sunflower Springs is a brand-new facility that's probably only five years old. It's beautiful, it's two stories, a large facility, and it's very expensive. When you walk in they have live birds in cages to make the people feel very welcome. It's very elegant, it has a huge sitting room in the front, they have crafts going on all the time, exercises, they have puzzles for people to do, and they have a lot of volunteer people who come in. They have a post office and a dollar store. You bring your own furniture, and you can have a small pet there. They have a beautiful courtyard, the people were very nice, the staff was excellent, the food was excellent, and the dining room was elegant.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm living at Sunflower Springs and like it here. I think the areas are very good and very friendly. The food is awful, but other than that, there are plenty of activities. They have a gazebo out in the back, bingo, and Wii bowling. The staff members are very friendly and help out a lot. I have a big one-bedroom with a small living room. The place is being repainted right now. I would give the administration a rating of 1 because they're not very cooperative, but I would give the staff members a 4.

Sunflower Springs is wonderful. The staff is great. It couldn't be any better. I play cards three times a week. I'm not too active, but they have a lot of different things here. We have cornhole and bowling on the computer. They have a very good library and a hair salon. I have a beautiful apartment.

My mother lives here. Basically, everything is fine. They've got good help, and they train their people well. They take care of her very well, so I don't have to worry about it. They have a movie tour, movie weekend; they take them to the grocery store once a week, take them to dinner and to other places. So they keep them busy. Everything is very clean; that I am pleased with.

I've found an assisted living for my mom in the town of Homosassa, and it's called Sunflower. The place was fairly new, probably two years old, and in immaculate condition. They had an amazing menu and the food was very tasty. They did have a nurse service that helps with the dispensing of medicines, if necessary, for an additional fee and they have a quite expensive move-in thing, but other than that, the place was incomparable, price wise, than every other place I've looked into.
