My sister moved into American House Coconut Point. It was the closest. It's about 4 minutes away from me. I can go visit her every day. The staff members are very nice. Everybody has been very helpful, polite, and accommodating. There didn't seem to be a huge selection of food, but everything looked good. It took a really long time to be served, and that was the worst thing about it. The cost is expensive.

American House Coconut Point was more cosmopolitan with like an apartment building. They had all services, independent, assisted living, and memory care, all in one building and I think that was a big asset. They had a movie theater, an exercise place, and swimming pools. It had a lot of amenities. We only met the woman, Nancy, who showed us around the facilities and explained all of the differences and she was good. They had a pool table, a library, and a spa.

We toured American House Coconut Point yesterday. It's very homey looking, very aptly named for an American home. Nice wide corridors. My husband is in a wheelchair, and you didn't feel like you were cramped in. It had a beautiful atrium in the center. It was built in a circle, and it had a beautiful pool with a long walk-in gradual, probably 20-foot-long ramp. And it had beautiful furniture and beautiful carpeting. The one-bedroom apartment that we looked at was beautifully finished and completely redone. Apparently, they do that after everyone leaves. You have to pay $3500 for capital investment, and they use that every single time to put the room back in its original condition. The person who was taking us on the tour was very professional and took time with us and showed us everything. And that was very competent. The welcoming staff was very nice. We talked to a few residents and asked them how they liked it and they seemed to indicate that they liked it. It has a 200-person capacity and supposedly there's only one one-bedroom available. I saw the dining area and the menu, it's very nice. Apparently it changes every day. Supposedly they have a five-star chef, but they said they don't need to have people try the food. They have more than enough people that live there that are happy. And if they weren't happy with everything, they would leave. You don't have to sign a contract. You can leave at any time. It's a month-to-month situation, which also makes me a little nervous, which means that if they don't have a nursing facility, they basically can kick you out if you get beyond their capability. You have to be evaluated to determine the level of care. There are four levels.

American House Coconut Point was very nice. What stood out to us was the fact that you didn't have to tell them what time you wanted to eat dinner. The living atmosphere was very nice. They had activities, but we didn't stay long enough to see them. We saw the pool and the gym because we're interested in those. It was very clean, too.

My father is a resident of American House Coconut Point. The food seems to be very good. As for activities, I usually go on weekends, so there's not much happening. However, the staff is pretty good. Most of them are very attentive. They also have a big outdoor courtyard, which is nice.

My parents have moved to American House Coconut Point. The bad news is, the overnight staffing is severely short. They're mostly temporary people who don't know the routine, who don't know the residents, and who don't know the facility. So the response time is way too slow. For my family, that's critical. The call system is inadequate. For example, my parents rang the bell for some help, which they did during the middle of the night, and we were told that all the staff had pagers, but the nighttime staff did not have any pagers. They've had to check an iPad to see if they've been called, they didn't even know that my parents had called for help. So the nighttime was a mess, very poor, and we're addressing that with management. They said that they're working on it, but when we moved my parents in yesterday, they gave us a wonderful orientation, said that everybody had a pager and they'd know immediately if my parents needed assistance or had questions. And then today, after an abysmal night, they said that that "That system isn't up and running yet, and we're still working on the technology, and a lot of the staff at night on your parents' floor is temporary help so we haven't gone over it with them. That's not acceptable. When you're accepting fragile people, people who need help, people who are paying thousands and thousands of dollars, it's not safe and not acceptable. The positive point is, the food is delicious. The chef is excellent, very accommodating, and takes care of my parents' dietary restrictions. The facility itself is beautiful and the neighbors there are very, very nice. There was a cockroach that ran right across the bedroom floor when they moved in yesterday, which was a terrible way to be welcomed. In Florida there are bugs around, however, that unit has just been freshly painted, carpeted and deep cleaned, and that should have been addressed. We are staying very, very close. Last night, when my mother hits the call bell, she then called her grandson. He got dressed, drove eight miles, got in through security, rang the bell, and was up to the room, but no one had responded yet. It shouldn't take more time for the staff to respond in-house, than it does for my son to get there from being in another location. But aside from the nighttime coverage, my parents are happy to be in a well-lit, well-appointed, beautiful place. They enjoy the neighbors, they're happy socializing, they're happy with the meals, and with the laundry facilities. Staffing is an issue with many places, but they were not upfront with us about that last night. It's different during the day and night.

American House Coconut Point was a very nice place. They're more upscale looking than the other one I visited and nicer. They had very nice people. We felt welcomed. Everything was clean and looked like it was either a brand new place or remodeled. They were super nice to us. The rooms had a full-size kitchen, and they're very nice.

I have visited the American House Coconut Point. The physical community condition was very nice, it was fine. It's a fairly new building so it was nicely appointed. I only met their salesperson. They have a lot of things and a lot of room for activities and stuff. I saw a 1-bedroom unit and obviously, it was their showcase and it was very nicely appointed. It was an adequate room. The place was very clean and very nice. Their dining room is also nice.

I got to see American House Coconut Point. I love the newness and the cleanness of it. They didn't show me any rooms. There wasn't availability to show me, but I got to see everything else. What I liked the best about it was they had a wonderful plan for their indoor swimming. They have a wonderful ramp for people that are handicapped. I'm on a cane, but I can walk around. They have this wonderful ramp instead of climbing in stairs. I liked it very much. The staff was very knowledgeable. I met several people there. They showed me the activity room and their bistro. It's not really the dining room, but you can go in anytime and get coffee or a snack. Those things were very good. I liked it very much. The place was very neat and clean.

I went to American House Coconut Point. It is a five-year-old place. It looks very good. It has got a very good ambiance and has a good outdoor look also. I like the way the building looked and inside it was also very nice and clean. I did go to see the one-bedroom apartment, and the one-bedroom apartment they have there is very good. They got a nice living room, a nice bedroom, and a nice kitchenette. This is very well done stuff. I went there because I had an appointment at three o'clock, and she didn't show up for half an hour. I had to wait for her. She's a nice-looking young lady, but I thought she looked a little difficult. The dining area was just a little inside, a little stuffy. It's a nice, clean place, but it could be a little bit brighter, and happier. It looks a little darker. I was there in the middle of the afternoon and it didn't have a brightness to it. I did go to the fitness center and the fitness center is not very good. They only have a few pieces of equipment, and I don't think that's enough. The outdoors is very good. They have a fountain and a nice area where you can go for a little walk. I liked the outside.

We toured American House Coconut Point. We toured both levels, the independent and the assisted living, and we looked at the model in the assisted living. It was a very good experience. We met with Kimberly, and she was very thorough and informative, so we had a good tour. It had fewer residents than the previous ones we looked at, so that was good. The facilities were good. Everything is very neat, clean, and very nice. Everything seemed to be within a short distance of the room, so the layout was fine. They had a swimming pool, and I think they had a little patio. It was a little dark, and they were improving some of the carpets and things, so it was just a little darker than what I liked. They needed to be a little brighter.

I visited American House in Estero, and I think that place looked absolutely amazing. I think for someone who is not at a high level of care needs at this point, that would be a great place to go, somebody who needs a little assistance and is really just looking for more of an assisted living community. My mom really needs a lot of more care than that. When I looked at it, I just thought my mom will never even begin to use a tenth of what's in the facility. Four years ago it would have been fabulous for her. So, I think it would really depend on the level of where your loved one is at. The facility has everything you could possibly want, but I didn't know if they could handle the sort of medical support or the activities of daily living support that my mom would personally need; I wasn't sure about that. I really liked the sales guy there, he was really nice, his name is Ron. He did everything he could possibly do, and he spent time with me. I think that if somebody's looking to move into assisted living, and they're at the stage where they would appreciate different activities, I think this place would be worth checking out. If somebody's at the point where they're needing a super high level of care, I would look for a different type of facility ... if that's where you're at. They have everything you could possibly want if you're at the right stage of life for it. It's like living in a country club, it's right near big shopping centers too, you could literally walk out the door and go shopping if you wanted to.

I went to American House Coconut Point, and I liked that it was clean and beautiful. It was new, it looked pretty, and it was nice. Ron was a very nice guy. He sat down with me and gave me a personal tour. They had a salon, a bakery, a library, and a pool. It just felt comfortable there, and they were accommodating.

My husband is at American House Coconut Point, and it's a very attractive community. They provide good care, lots of opportunities for the residents, and the place seems to be run well. There are a lot of activities to do, like there is a really nice pool, and the PT can take you in the pool. There is also occupational and speech therapy, and a lot of downstairs group activities. There are always four or five things going on in the morning, and the same in the afternoon. People just do what they want to do. Right now, we're still on a little bit of a limited basis, but that should be opening back up again, because everybody just got their shots. It has lots of opportunities for playing, too, like they have a pool table, Wii Bowling, and different fun activities, like bridge and chess. There are a lot more men there than the other places, where there are more women. The guys over there seemed to be getting along well enough, and I think that can be somewhat of a good setup for my husband. The staff gets on things the minute you let them know your problem. I still have a couple of things I'm working out, but it's a good place. Most of their staff is efficient, caring, and they want to make sure that things go right. Ninety-eight percent of the staff is great, but there are a couple of folks I'm not sure about yet. The food is not fantastic, but it's good. We still don't have a dining room opened back up, but I'm hoping that will be open next week, so it will be a lot nicer and a lot more social. Overall, it's a wonderful facility.

If I would have to move, American House Coconut Point would be the place where I'd do it. I found the staff very welcoming, and the facility was the best that I had toured for a number of points. They do three meals a day, as opposed to two meals that most of them are giving. I just didn't feel that I was ready. The staff was eager to have me there. They had some activities, and they were very open to different things. They're very accommodating to what I was looking for. They weren't having the dining room open at the time that I was there, although I was introduced to the chef. I have special diets because of allergies and things, and he was very pleasant and said that they could be accommodated.

We found American House for my father. We're very happy with them. It's the best out of all the choices we had. My mother is very happy with them. They actually gave us what was meant for two residents using the same bathroom kind of a thing. They let him have both of those rooms for himself. One of the bedrooms is set up for his bed and dresser, and the other is set up like a small bedroom/living room thing. He got a TV set up and couch there. It's really nice. The staff is very caring. They have quite an establishment there for caregiving. We're very pleased. It is quite an undertaking for any kind of facility to take care of all their needs, but they're very good with my father. He has been there now for a little while and he is settling in. I know it takes time, but it is working out, and it is becoming more of a home for him. It's just tough to watch him because he is losing his memory. It's a good, caring place for him. Right now, there was somebody that actually got COVID on the second floor, so the place was kinda in a lockdown, which is understandable. We can make an appointment to see my father. We have been doing that. He has been OK. Even prior to that, because the virus is still around and the numbers are high, they don't have a lot of activities. Normally they would have people come in and they would have a little band and activities. They're being very protective for their residents, so there's not a lot of going on right now. American House is a very large building. They've got a couple of courtyard, a pool table, and a puzzle room, and a library. They got the residents scheduled for physical therapy. It's really nice. We're happy. I'm very pleased with them. Most of the staff are very good. Every once in a while you get somebody that doesn't seem like they're all into what they're doing, but for the most part I'm very pleased with their staff. It's a lot of money no matter where you go, but they're right in there where everyone else is. I don't like how much it is, but for what they're getting, it's a good price.

I went to American House Coconut Point. It's a very nice place. It's a brand-new place. They showed me a room; they showed me everything. They got an exercise room. They have three or four places if you want coffee or something to drink. They have a big screen TV and reading room. The staff members were very accommodating and very nice.

American House Coconut Point Memory Care is very nice and new; it's ony four to five years old. Among all the places we visited, we like this the best because it's new and the manager and management are very nice. The interviewing nurse is also very nice. It's just a nice and caring community. Fortunately, this particular senior community is safe and doesn't have any infections or anything. My mom seems very happy there. She's in the memory care. In terms of the food, my mom seems happy. We interviewed the chef and it all seems pretty good. They have music, exercise, and a lot of other activities. Her room is good, she has a studio, and I think for a single person her age it's pretty comfortable. The cleanliness of the place is very good. It's expensive, but no more than the other places we've interviewed.

We like everything about American House Coconut Point except they had limited amounts of activities. They said they're only 3 years old and that they were developing those activities. We like the place. We may go back there because we were very impressed by it. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. She was one of the reasons that we would go back. Everything that we would need that we could really be happy with was there. My wife and I have no handicap and we like to stay active, but American House just didn't seem to have the activities in place yet.
