I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend is in Prestige Manor assisted living in Belleview. It's not a good place. A lot of times, they don't have food to feed the residents, and they don't get their baths or care for 2 or 3 weeks. I go over there twice a week to visit. Some of the nurses are okay and the other ones don't want to do their job. They're lazy, they don't want to work. There are some good ones and some bad ones. Some of them stay on the phone and don't want to help the patients. Their bathrooms stay nasty and dirty too. So far, my friend is okay right now. I check on her all the time to make sure she is okay. If she needs something, she calls me. I wanted to move her but she didn't want to move because she didn't want to be that far away from me. The facility needs a lot of work done. They don't have activities, they don't do anything with the residents. They just let them sit there and watch TV. They used to take them out on the porch but they don't even do that anymore. They want more money but they don't do anything for them. We have to supply all of my friend's bath soaps, shampoos, diapers, and pads. I have to go out and get everything she needs. Sometimes I even have to give her food. Her bed collapsed and fell so they let her sleep in a bed with springs sticking through, which they put together with bungee cords. We had to go get her a bed. That's how they do it, and they don't replace or fix anything in that place.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I like that I have a lot of privacy here at Prestige Manor. For the most part, the staff has been accommodating. The food is marginal. My room is accommodating. There just aren't too many amenities, and I don't fit the profile that's here. They could also have more activities. Maybe go to the movies occasionally and get out or go to a local concert in the park.

I visited this facility

I toured Prestige Manor. It seemed to be a very inclusive place, so a wide variety of people were there. It seemed like a very caring facility. The staff was very engaged. They had a lot of great information, asked a lot of good questions, and answered the questions I had.

I visited this facility

I toured Prestige Manor. Aaron was very helpful and very sympathetic to what I was going through and how I was feeling. He was very understanding and that made me comfortable. They showed me a shared room which wasn't going to work for my mom, but it was clean and I didn't see anything wrong with it. It probably would have worked for some people. The biggest thing was when I walked into the facility, there was a gentleman who was smoking at the entranceway. He was sitting out there and Aaron said that it normally wouldn't happen, but I can't take that kind of chance. So, that turned me off there. It was an older facility, but other than those things, it was very nice and the security in the memory care area was good.

I visited this facility

Prestige Manor was rundown and old. It was not even a consideration. The rooms were small, and they had to share a bathroom and that's not acceptable, having to share a bathroom with someone else. The person who accommodated me was very nice. He walked me through everything and showed me everything. He did a good job of at least giving me a tour of the place. The dining area was not large enough. It was full of residents. It was like a dining and living room and they got a TV. It was just too small. I did not like it. I think the facility is too old. It needs to be remodeled. It looks more like a full nursing home than it does an assisted living or memory care.
