Staff had arguments with each other in hallways Random patients wander into your room though you don’t know them Nasty nursing assistants Incompetent staff Dirty rooms When you click the call button it could take an hour plus before you receive a response.

I'm at Serenity Rehabilitation and Health Center for rehab. Some of the nurses are very nice and responsive for the most part. Management is a whole different story, and the food is not the best. Management is seemingly adversarial. They make promises and deliver nothing. I have to track them down. I was supposed to be getting my medical information to my primary doctor outside of the facility, and it has yet to happen. A social worker had me sign something. Against my better judgment I signed based on the fact that she was going to bring a copy right back. I saw her almost a month later, and that was only after I had gotten some action that was heading toward legal action. That was the only thing that prompted her, and of course everybody was very defensive. The rooms are fine. The layout is fine. They tend to be understaffed, and I don't know what they do with their money. They have two elevators, only one works, and that's the smaller one, so it becomes rather challenging. If one goes to any of the activities on the ground floor, it might take you 20 to 25 minutes. The nurses are very friendly and very playful, but proficient. All in all, I'm OK. The food has gotten better and it's brought up, so there's really no dining area. They need to have transparency and integrity, and this is with the management (not the staff). For instance, I have not yet seen the doctor, even though I get bills for doctors. The only people I really see are the nurses.

My aunt is in Carolyn Boone Lewis Heath Care Center for a couple of months now for her therapy and I am very pleased with the facility. It is clean. My aunt likes the food and she eats all of it. The nurses and the staff are very informative. If you ask them question, they will give you answers. Their administration there is really good too.

Located right beside a medical center, this is a small facility offering skilled nursing care and rehabilitation. The parking situation for visitors is awful; there are limited number of spaces"”and few spots in the streets nearby. Most of the residents are seniors, and the building feels secure and safe. There is a day room off the lobby area and a smoking area for residents to sit and congregate. Other than that, there are few activities scheduled for residents to enjoy, although they say they appreciate the snack cart that goes around periodically. The rooms are a moderate size"”with nothing fancy to them, but they are kept very clean. Most have two residents to a room. Because it is a smaller place, there is more of an intimate feel, less like a hospital than many other nursing homes. The staff is responsive to residents and outside caregivers"”and good at following up. They are attentive to the residents and seem to make an effort to get to know family members and other visitors. And the administration is on top of everything here"”knowledgeable about the residents' needs and what is happening on the staff. They are also well organized, with little feel of calm instead of chaos.
