Brightview Shelton was wonderful, but the cost was a little bit over my price range. They also offer independent living, which is kind of cool, if you don't need as much. They offered memory care as well, but I just went to see the assisted living. It's convenient because it's right off Route 8. It's beautiful. It's all up-to-date. The apartments were wonderful. The staff that I met were very nice. They offered a ridiculous amount of over-the-top activities. They had a restaurant on one floor and a restaurant on the other floor. They did offer a lot. There was the inclusion of care with assisted living, but probably not as much as in the other place. I wasn't able to try the food, but they showed some of the menus. They also serve filet mignon a lot in their dining room. It just seems like a great place to eat. I think that's one of their specialties there. Everybody seemed very nice. They told me they have a higher ratio of caretakers to patients. They hire more than usual and that's an interesting thing. They were high on my list. I just couldn't do the cost. It's not a big corporation. I think it's independently owned, which I think is a nice thing. They also have a lot of options like a studio, a one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments.
