As a result of a serious blood infection that had heart implications and was connected to other intractable health conditions, I was transferred , after a hospital stay, to the Village Crest Rehabilitation Center in New Milford, Connecticut where I received excellent care for a month. Particularly notable is the nature of the staff there. Everyone I came in contact with was professional, caring, and good humored. No one ever seemed to have a bad day. This was especially remarkable because of the number of people with whom I came in contact over the period of one month. Moreover, a couple of the nursing staff went far beyond what one would expect to improve my condition and help me be more comfortable. The physical and occupational therapy staff was very knowledgeable and definitely given to problem solving. The facility is immaculately clean.

I would give this facility 0 stars if I could. Whatever you do, don’t let your loved one go to Village Crest. My mother went for some PT and before her stay there was living independently. She came out unable to walk and completely dependent. Our lives have been completely turned around as I now have to be the caregiver to my mother after the damage that Village Crest has caused to her. They are understaffed, incompetent and the absolute worst. They have ruined my mother’s life. Don’t let your loved one suffer like my mother has after going to Village Crest.

Mom and I are so relieved to know that Dad is in the hands of such competent and compassionate health care professionals. Dad is treated with the utmost respect and sensitivity. Finding the right schedule for therapy and meds to get him on his feet again has taken some diligence but this is not a group to give up easily. I am the only daughter and I am visiting from FL and it is extremely important to me that he be in the condition that would reduce the potential for further injury as my mom is burdened with health issues of her own. I am beyond confident that the healthcare team working with him here will provide him with just the support he needs to gain back his strength and return home. It truly is difficult to be so far from a suffering loved one but it will be much easier to leave knowing that he is in the hands of such a special group. My mom and I can not express our gratitude enough!

My Grandma and Grandpa both lived in this facility. The staff and nurses became family. We saw them on a weekly basis. They were always polite, kind and caring. They loved my family as if they were their own. They took care of my grandparents as if they were the most important people in the world. I never heard a nurse speak badly to a patient. Requests were taken care of quickly and efficiently. Patients were always clean, it had a hospital smell but that's something you can not change. It's how a nursing home smells. When my grandpa and grandma passed away the nurses attended the funerals, as I said they had become family. These were an amazing group of people that really cared about their patients and the patients family. My grandma had, had a stroke and could not move around much, they got her out when they could and moved her around as much as they could. They would have someone come in and do activities, wether it was a beauty parlor day or bowling. If I had to live in a nursing home I would choose this facility it may not be the fanciest but it is the most caring staff you will ever meet.
