My mother was in the memory care unit. The staff was so compassionate and tried everything to help make her stay there comfortable. They really tried to get to know the individual and what works/does not work for them. There was constant communication between family and staff about how she was doing. I was there almost every day, at all different times, and she was always dressed and clean and well taken care of. As were the other residents.

My mother-in-law was there until tonight. She had a fall. Supervising nurse came in find out what was going on said that she did not fall and was yelling at her like A raging bull. My mother-in-law has dementia hard for her to remember things, but she did fall. We are at the hospital now getting x-rays done. The supervising nurse should not be in healthcare never have I seen somebody talk to an elderly patient in this manner. This was the worst..

Reception was friendly and thorough. The facility was clean and relatively quiet. My friend seemed comfortable and well cared for. I don’t have an opinion about the physical therapy, but I am hopeful that what is offered will eventually result in him becoming fully functional again.

Putnam Ridge was beautiful, I did not see the rooms because of COVID. The staff seemed very nice, I saw very few, it was a very, very calm and quiet place. The outdoors was gorgeous, it was very nice. There was one big major room overlooking a beautiful lawn, and it was a gorgeous room. It was 45 minutes from me so it was too far.

I was extremely impressed how my grandma was cared for throughout her stay. Because of governor Cuomos horrific policies she passed away with covid with no visits for 2 months. But even during those trying times they were so kind to us and more importantly to her. Nurses moving her bed near the window. Social work FaceTiming us from her isolation room. My family watched her die through a window but it brought us so much comfort to see a nurse sit with her 1:1 and hold her hand as she passed. Even with such an awful virus their staff NEVER feared her. They loved her. They were also incredibly kind to my grandfather who was never a resident but a daily visitor to my grandma. The loved him and grieved with my family when he became sick and passed away. Hopefully my family doesn’t need long term care again in the future but if we do we will be back.

My wife overcame the COVID-19 virus due to the superior medical and physical treatment of their entire medical staff and dedicated social workers and aides. It was through their professionalism and dedication and through the help of God that my wife survived this horrendous disease. The fact that I was able to speak to the nurses every day and seeing wife through FaceTime in the Unit during her fight against COVID was a relief to me and my family.

I believe that the facility is extremely well run. Everything was on time, the food was good, the medical attention was good, the bathing and personal care was good, they made me feel as comfortable as possible while I was there... They were constantly asking me if there was anything they could do for me or get me or me feel more comfortable. I had a very pleasant stay there. I was only there for three weeks. The physical therapy and occupational therapy was what go me back out on the street, it was very well done.

The facility has been very good for our mother's recovery and rehab. Nursing staff and physical therapy staff were top notch. A special thanks to Shawn and April and also Mary, her social worker. Kitchen staff and servers did great, and food was great.

We have both seen many rehab/nursing homes, and Putnam Ridge was a pleasure. When you need to place your loved ones in the hands of someone else Putnam Ridge provides that special attention, love and care that you can depend on. The nursing and rehab specialists all worked together with you to reach the final goal of returning home.

My 90 year old mother is just ending up her second stay at Putnam Rehab and once again they've helped her to thrive! I couldn't be happier!! Don't believe all you read! Get to know the staff and learn more about what goes on there with your loved one! You will immediately learn answers to your concerns and explanations to your queries -- no secrets! My mother is thrilled with her daily P/T, her meals, how clean her room is, and the care she is being given by all the staff. NO rehab center is a "fun" or "happy" place to be, let's be real. At least everyone who works at Putnam Ridge has a smile to share, a kind word for a client, and an obvious DRIVE to help the people spending time with them. Thumbs up!!

My mother was in the memory care unit for 5 months at Putnam Ridge. She received wonderful care and attention from the nurses, aides, activities people, and social worker. Their support was greatly appreciated and I feel like we had become family. I also want to thank the therapists. Administration and Business office were helpful in getting Mom into Putnam Ridge. Although Mom was no longer vocal and could not hear, she would smile whenever any of the staff approached her and would give them kisses. Thank you for taking such good care of Mom in her end stage of life.

I recently had an uncle at Putnam Ridge for rehabilitation. The facility is gorgeous and the therapy is fantastic. We were very pleased with their care and attention. Rooms are a bit small, but there is plenty of space for families to gather and beautiful common areas all around. We would highly recommend

My Mother loved the nursing staff and therapy at Putnam Ridge and though she wasn't crazy about the food, my main concern and focus was for her to heal and participate in therapy, because that's why she went for rehabilitation in the first place. On these accounts, we could not have been happier with with Putnam Ridge for a job well done.

Transferred my mom from hospital for short rehab stay. There was no orientation or assessment on admission, no nursing intervention to advise on whether or not she could ambulate on her own, no vitals taken or meds given. The oxygen tube they provided was 4' long, not nearly enough to get to the bathroom. Luckily I had brought my own extension. The heat was on in her room (during a heat wave), causing her to have labored breathing. I was told I could take her back to the hospital if I wanted. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY.

My fatherinlaw spent a month in this REHAB. Excellent, too notch doctor in facility, diagnosed problem w temporary sundowning and mental confusion. Aides are very few, but most are caring. Expect what needs to be done and zero extra. Aides anywhere get paid very little and bare bones staff is what exists here. At night, one aide has two wings to get occupants ready for bed. My fatherinlaw needed to be in bed by eight and they came later. Everyone wheeled in community room and those that were aware, fought over TV program. No interaction with staff, just left in Community Room early in morning till lunch. Put Ridge, like every other place, has glossy brochure with all they do. Every few days they have an activity but other hours no stimulation. The rest is up to you or hire someone to watch over your loved one and keep them stimulated. Food was horrid in Put Ridge, slop. No nutrition here. All levels of care are pushed together.. Some that scream out all day and on and on.

Putnam Ridge is brand new, beautiful, and state-of-the art facility. They teach the patients how to get in and out of the cars. The therapists are very patient. A lot of the residents like my uncle don't feel good or they don't think they feel good and they just want to lay in bed. But they let us know promptly that Medicare will not pay if my uncle doesn't go to two PTs a day.

Putnam Ridge Nursing home is under the NYMED family of nursing homes. My grandmother was in that nursing home while recovering from a server hip injury. My grandmother received appropriate medical care during her stay, My only complaint regarding her care was the staff. At times the staff were rude and sometimes even disrespectful and there were several issues of a language barrier between the clients and staff. there was an awesome nutritionist that would do specialized meal planning for the clients in there care but the food sometimes was cold by the time of consumption. The kitchen was also down stairs right next to the morgue and laundry room which made me feel uncomfortable. The facility was in overall safe and clean condition with the exception of a nauseating odor of urine. one of the main problems that concern me was that there was a locked and secured unit for the altimeters and mentally unstable clients and some of the clients would learn the door code and get out. the other concern i have about the facility is that there is no security.

I am most familiar with the B(birch) section of the nursing home. Some of the aids should find other proffessions other than caring for the elderly, it is just not for them! The family is asked to leave the room while the aids are caring for the residents..this is outrageous, especially when the spouse is forced to leave the room! One worker in particular named, Andrew was heard shouting at the resident he was caring for. Another aid named Kiesha, is EXTREMELY RUDE and is always angry for no apparent reason. How is it the residents' fault that she is miserable with her life?! I think it is very degrading and depressing for the residents to have to be under the care of hostile and rude individuals, in a sense it robs them of their dignity! When a person is ill and forced to live away from their family, it's sickening for them to have to endure such treatment for the remainder of their days! I do have to say though, there are some staff members that do seem nice. Because of a few individuals that infect this place, and the apparent lack of action by authority, I would certainly not recommend this nursing home to anyone!

This facility is great if all you are going for is Rehabiliation. When it comes to the Skilled Nursing section, it is essentially a warehouse for the elderly and dying. There is no personal touch at all in the care that is provided here, it is an assembly line of skilled nursing care. Dressing, bathing and feeding etc without a bit of compassion or caring. People are always put together so that they can be observed without too much effort from the staff. My advice is to find somewhere else to house your loved one.
