Literally the best landscaping you will ever see for condos. Not assisted living, just 55 plus with a very well maintained par 3 golf course. Pros are beautiful landscaping and gardens, great location, detached garages friendly, affordable. quiet, great neighbors. Cons are Denver high crime, and very steep HOA charges. A peaceful enclave, not for everyone, but worth a look for many. Overall I do recommend highly.

This place is not the best if you are someone that likes your privacy and is not that social. So many of the people are nosey, and disrespectful. There's people that do respect your space and privacy. I was just trying to go into my garage and I was yelled at by a resident that almost tried to hit me , she clearly saw me , because I didn't get out of her way to go to recycling. People stare in your windows. People like to try to be up in your business. If people don't like your appearance your on the receiving end of their remarks. The HOA is constantly going up. They do a good job of maintaining the grounds and clearing the snow. If you do move here try to make sure your car is garaged and always secured. This isn't the worst place I'm just personally not that comfortable here. When my mother dies I'm not sure I want to stay.

I am a resident of Windsor Gardens. It's very friendly and inclusive. They have good facilities. They have a pool, a hot tub, an exercise room, and a restaurant. The food is good. The staff members are very nice and friendly. They have movie and music nights. They have a golf course and an art room.

Too much cigarette smoke in the buildings, no way to get away from it, the hallways smell like cigarette smoke and chemical spray. The outside areas have strict smoking rules, so I was very confused by the fact that smokers are allowed to smoke in buildings designed to for air flow throughout the building. If you have asthma or like your lungs, don't move here.

I have lived in Windsor Gardens for over two years. In sum, it is a very good place to live. The in-house management team is excellent – knowledgeable, responsive and caring and the residents serving on the board and various committees are intelligent, thoughtful and dedicated. The maintenance and ground crews do a very good job keeping up these old buildings and the grounds. While at first blush the HOA fees may appear to be on the high side, they actually are the best deal in town, because they cover a lot: individual property taxes, maintenance of the common areas, water and sewer, heating, garbage collection, recycling, in-house management, a large, competent maintenance staff, 24-hour security, a golf course, activity center, exercise room, in-door and out-door pools and a library. While the buildings and facilities are old and do require more maintenance, the residences appear to be well-constructed and are quiet. There are many activities on site to suit the whims of most residents. The Highline Canal runs along the southern edge of the development and has a great walking and biking trail. The grounds are large enough to support families of rabbits and squirrels, flocks of Canada geese, as well as the occasional raptor and coyote passing through. Shopping along South Havana Street in Aurora is just a short hop away and RTD provides special trips for senior shoppers. The vast majority of residents are friendly, helpful and considerate -- although you can’t help but have the occasional crank in a 55+ community. While there are many rules in this development and some folks chaff at them, I have learned over time that they make this place a better community – so if you don’t like to comply with community rules and think that you should be able to do whatever strikes your fancy, a condominium probably isn’t your best choice.

Several buildings have a problem with bullying others. These are people without cognitive issues who have CONTROL issues. Unending, incessant, cheap gossip rules. Too many "corpses" without a life here always interfering in others' lives and business because they have nothing else to do. If this is retirement, I don't want it. Looking forward to selling my unit and moving where there's life again!

Windsor Gardens is a 55 and over community of 3,600 people and 80 buildings. There are absolutely no services. It's like living in an apartment house. We have a gym, an indoor and outdoor pool, a hot tub, a steam room, and there's an activity center with an auditorium that has various kinds of activities, a golf course, and a restaurant. I have a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment. It's beautiful here.

Windsor Gardens was nice enough, they're just way too small for the furniture I have. They have a community center, Bingo, and a swimming pool. The facility was clean and nice. The staff was very nice.

I have lived here at Windsor Gardens for 20 years. My experience with them is very favorable. It is independent condos. It is a village basically. There are 55 or so separate buildings. The four stories have elevators, and all of the wings have a washer and dryer. There is also a central activity place. They have a restaurant and a golf course. They have the usual amenities. The community is very attractive. It is very well cared for. They have a very good business manager. The things I like best about Windsor Gardens are the activities and the friendliness of the people.

I and my wife have been here at Windsor Gardens for seven years. There are so many activities. There are dancing and exercise classes, there's a woodshop for anyone who wants to use it, and there are all kinds of clubs. They keep the sidewalks level so you won't fall in and stumble, and they clean it up so there's not a shoe stain. We're happy here.
