The kind and caring people at Westgate Villa have prevented any of the residents from getting Covid-19. My mother is a resident and I have felt so much less worried about her because they are so careful. They have visited her when she was in the hospital or temporarily in Skilled Nursing Care and made sure she had things she needed there. It really does feel like family and I feel so lucky that this is where Mom lives.

I toured Westgate Villa Assisted Living. It's close to my house, so that's very convenient. It's not that big, it's quite a small place. They provide everything I need. There are more small rooms for two people. The only thing I don't like is the shower. The shower is far away from the rooms, and it takes hours to give patients a shower. They don't have showers in the bedroom. They have a special room going for showers. I guess that's the way it is. The price is quite expensive for what they offer, but the location is good. The elevator makes a big noise. The staff was very nice. They showed me the rooms, and they were very nice. They have a little patio there where they can sit outside. They showed me the dining room, too.

I went to Westgate Villa Assisted Living for my mother-in-law. It felt homey, and I felt like everyone there is like family. I saw a lot of seniors that were engaging with each other. I would say like a big family. They have extra precautions. They made sure that I wash my hands, and they took my temperature. They are living as if we're still under Covid, and you have to wear a mask. I saw both a 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom unit. It's very clean, and I think the way they set up the rooms were hotel-like. When I went there, I saw some of them playing cards and socializing with each other. They showed me the bedrooms, the restrooms, and the dining area. It is very clean, and I like the way they're taking care of the cleaning. They take it seriously.

The staff at Westgate Villa seemed very nice. However, I didn't like the continuous music at the entrance because it was annoying. It was a little bit expensive, and that's because of location. A semiprivate was $5,590. They were willing to work with me though, waiving the fee to get in. The bathroom counter could have a little bit more space and have a little bit more storage. There are varying stages of capacity in the facility. They have people with who are totally alert in one lunch area, and then they have a different lunch area for people with fewer cognitive abilities. That was a good thing. They had people who were kind of out of it, and people who were spot on as far as the residents were concerned. They had a little bit of a courtyard, but not much. There was a library. The showers were not in the bathroom. Each room had a half bath for safety, and I can understand. They have a calendar of activities, but I didn't pay too much attention to that because my dad's not really interested in activities. I like that they have the Roku TV in each room. It was complimentary, and Netflix was included. That was a big deal for my dad. Each resident has a call button that they can wear. I like their aviary, but the music was just plain annoying because it was too loud. I touched the cabinets in the bathroom, and they were sticky. It is also going to be undergoing some renovation with the floors. It has everything there. The staff was very nice. The layout was fine. There is no separate parking.

My son is in Westgate Villa and it's very nice, very clean, doesn't smell, people seem to care, and we're pleased with it. They try to get him to participate in activities like word games and identifying states. He seems to enjoy the food.

Mom is at Westgate Villa. I would recommend this place. We chose this one because they were able to accommodate my mom. Because my mother is wheelchair bound, at most places, she would have to go to skilled nursing. Here, they are able to take care of her even though she can't walk. They are able to do more care than a regular assisted living. Also, the price is really great. The staff is great too. They take very good care of her there. Food is good, although my mom does complain that it's bland. I think they do no-sodium for almost everyone. For activities, they have bingo, exercise, etc. They have something going on everyday, just enough for my mother. They do have a bus that takes the ambulatory patients on trips once a month; however, mom is not able to do that because she is in a wheelchair. At this time, they're not able to take wheelchair patients on their trips. That's one limiting thing.

Westgate is an assisted living, but they're also able to do full care and it was very reasonable in price. It seems to be good in all those areas. A lot of assisted living facilities don't take people that need help getting in and out of bed which my mom does. They have different activities like bingo, baking, and singing songs sometimes, although my mom is not interested in too many things. It's also close to us so we could visit her pretty easily.
