My mom lived at Oakmont San Jose for five years. After being at three other memory care facilities (Belmont Village Sunnyvale and Atria Foster City), OSJ was the perfect solution, and where she lived out her final days. My mom was accustomed to high-end hotels and a glamorous life, with excellent customer service and care. We found OSJ to be the perfect fit for high-cognitive seniors. It was so wonderful to visit her as she was engaged in activities or sitting on the beautiful patio having lunch. The current head nurse (Paula) and memory care director (Sherry) are the best in the biz and were the only team to regularly keep in touch with me as her only child and POA. While the leadership changed many times over the course of her residency, the care staff was consistent, and my mom felt safe in her lovely private room. OSJ also welcomed and collaborated well with my mom's physical therapists, external caregivers, end-of-life doulas, and hospice. Being responsible for a parent in memory care is not for the faint-hearted. At OSJ, I finally found a partner I could trust.

I toured Oakmont of San Jose. They're always trying to be interactive with the people there, getting them out and doing things and going where they're at. They have window walls that open up, so it flows out to their patio in a really large way and they have activities.

We chose Oakmont of San Jose for my dad because of the amenities they have. If need be, he could move from beyond assisted living to memory care. It is located close to a hospital. The staff has been attentive, caring, and professional. The food looks nutritious and in good proportions. There is a salon, a courtyard, and a gym.

Oakmont of San Jose is a nice facility. It's relatively new, only six years old. I like the fact that they had handrails in all hallways. So, if somebody was able to walk but unsteady and they don't want to use walkers, they can use the handrails to get around. They have a nice theater; it was very professional. You have a very large projection screen, and the seats were properly raised in three rows, so everybody had a good view. One thing that was an issue is there's no visitors parking. We have to park on the street. They do have a parking garage below, and I think if you're going to visit a resident, you can get admission to the underground parking garage.

I liked everything about Oakmont of San Jose. They were courteous and kind. We had lunch there, and I got to meet some of the residents there and talk to them, which I thought was wonderful. Some people have been there for four, five, or six years. It was just a very happy experience. I would recommend them highly. Their food was very tasty, very creative, and well served. They have a library, game rooms, exercises, and a lovely back area where they exercise outside. When you came in, it was very inviting with couches. It was just delightful. The staff was very caring. When I called them to tell them that my friend had fallen and was injured badly, they were so concerned and were caring enough to call me several times. I can't find a fault with them. They're just wonderful, wonderful people.

I don't think that Oakmont of San Jose had enough staff. My wife went into their memory care unit and just within 2 hours of the time she had been there, they called and said that she had fallen. I don't understand how it could happen that quickly. It's a wonderful-looking facility. She got a shared room and it was fine. The food was OK, but they were very dishonest in their pricing. I told them that I was looking for a place that's about 8000 a month and they said they could work with that number without any problem. By the time I had her signed up, the price had jumped two/three times. It was 12,000 a month and then the night before my wife was due for us to bring her in, the manager called and said it would cost another 10,000 a month for extra night care. I had signed a contract that had gone over all of her needs, including her nighttime needs, and so I told the guy I wasn't going to do that. I was delivering more than what I expected them to do because the contract I signed for was 12,000 a month and it was to take care of all of her special needs. We went back and forth and the guy finally agreed that they would let her stay for a week while they reevaluated her physical needs and their ability to cover her. So, we took her in for a week, and then I immediately started looking for another spot and found another facility.

I toured Oakmont of San Jose. It's a lot smaller in size than the other place I saw and not as open. The staff was really helpful. It's been there for like 40 years, but wht's more important to me is the staff and how they're going to help my sister. The facilities could use some updating. I didn't see any cleaning nor maintenance issues at all. Their dining area looks accommodating. They have a movie theater, meditation activities, and other activities. They pretty much know that with the memory thing, you have to keep their brain working and that's what they do. If anything could be improved, the price could be lower somehow, but these places are all about the same.

I had this really positive feeling about Oakmont of San Jose from the very beginning just by reading their brochure. I had spoken on the phone several times with one of their staff members named Debbie. She was very warm, very positive, and very easy to talk to. It kind of set the tone for me. All of my contacts with Oakmont of San Jose were very positive, very warm, very friendly and that continued during the actual physical visit. Walking in there, it didn't feel like a hotel. It felt like it was somebody's home. Then I met the nursing facilitator, Paula, and other staff members. For each day, they have a menu for all three meals. We actually had lunch in the dining room. I liked the menu they had. The food was good. It was a nice mandarin chicken, Asian salad, and a dessert. It was interesting that there were residents that came over to the table to say hello. I had quite a conversation with one couple who lived there. The staff was friendly and open as well. I didn't feel any pressure at all. One of the chefs told us that they have pizza day on Thursdays and certain specialties on Fridays. You don't have to have that, but it's available. If you don't particularly care for what's being offered that day, they have an alternate menu. We looked at 3 one-bedrooms that were all a little different. One of them was almost like a studio. The other one was a little bit bigger than that, and then the last one was kind of expanded. They only have 1 two-bedroom apartment. The bedroom itself and the living area had a feeling of space, and they were furnished. There was a lot of storage space and closet space, which I really liked. The bathroom was much better. It had sturdier gripper bars and had a built-in seat. It just seemed a little bit bigger, and that it wasn't crammed into a corner. The kitchen was nice. The only drawback was that the microwave was up high, and I'm a short person; hopefully it can be lowered a little bit. There was no balcony. I thought it would be nice to have that, but it's OK. That's a minor thing. They had a room with various machines that you could use. I was particularly interested in their stretching and balancing activities. One of the things I really liked about the place was it's in a neighborhood. It's not like behind a mall or kind of sitting off by itself. It's in a pretty established neighborhood in San Jose. The grounds were not as large, but they're attractive. There was a large community patio. The dining room was on the third floor, so we were surrounded by treetops (which I thought was kind of interesting).

Oakmont of San Jose is modern, spacious, and clean. They have a very welcoming environment, and are very organized. The staff that showed us around was energetic and knowledgeable. They have a courtyard for memory care with a cement walking path and plants.

Oakmont of San Jose was really nice, very high end, and really expensive. Their food was really good, so I had lunch there. The staff were really nice. They seem to have all the activities, and they seem to be very accommodating with what you want to do. They were just way too expensive for our budget.

Oakmont of San Jose is a beautiful, brand-new facility so everything is brand new. It has high ceilings and state-of-the-art facilities. The room that I looked at -- and this was memory care only -- was a shared room, but it was quite large, and it had a high wall that divided the bed area. It's a nice feature compared to the shared rooms where there's no division between the two sides. It's a beautiful facility. It has a nice dining room for memory care, and it all looks outside to a lush patio area. They had an activity area, a TV area, and a large indoor birdcage. It's very expensive, but I can see why, because some of the money is going to the common area where you could take people out -- like you could take your family member into the common area to sit with them. They have a nice library area set up, and they have a café where they could have snacks, food, and things. They also have fresh flower bouquets everywhere. Those are all extra touches, but you're paying for them, too. The facility, the décor, and all of that were very high end, very nice, and brand new. The person who gave the tour was Heather, and she was very nice. The activity calendar that I was shown looked like they have a full day of activities.

I love Oakmont of San Jose, I want to live there. It was clean, new, inviting, and there was parking, too. The activities they offered seemed to be something my in-laws would enjoy. They have an outdoor dining area and rooftop gardens. The staff members were awesome. They were great.

Oakmont of San Jose seemed very new, it's small, and there's not a lot of people that live there. I think there's only 75 people that live there. Everyone seemed to know each other, and overall we had a good impression of it. The outdoor space is not very big, a small courtyard, but very well kept. One person there seemed very nice, and we met the activities coordinator. He seemed enthusiastic and helpful. They had board games, they have a walking club. The day we were there, they were having a pamper day so residents could come in and have their nails done whenever they wanted during the day. I thought the rooms were surprisingly big, they looked very new, and I thought they were beautiful.

I love our concierge Toni I see her everyday before she leaves she's a lovely person makes my day seeing her at front desk she's genuinely a lovely person who is now my family friend we have great conversations. We as residents need more storage in the rooms, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Staff are wonderful cares for us and about us. I think the staff is the best of the best. We enjoyed before this happened the live musical entertainment. I think our dining room is gorgeous. I think people can look and look but won't find a place nicer then this.

I was unsure about senior living environments at first, but I saw all the great events and activities they have here. And it was a great load off of my children, while still remaining close to them. The food has made improvements in the past few months. The staff is very nice to me and my pets. They walk my dog three times a day and are always pleasant about it.

The community handled the COVID-19 pandemic really well. The management team and staff all very friendly. The food service is nutritious and suitable for seniors. The housekeeping and maintenance team is very responsive and works hard to solve any problems.

Oakmont of San Jose seemed great. There was a change in administration so it was difficult at first to get specific answers to questions, but now I have all of the information that I need. The room was very clean and it was easy to make it feel like a home with your own belongings. They make it really easy to move in. The activity director who assisted me was wonderful. The only problem was that it wasn't communicated that we would need memory care, so when the tour began, it was in a different part of the facility that wouldn't be useful to us. The dining area looked clean. The residents were watching the World Series when I was there.

I'm not that happy with Oakmont of San Jose. They're understaffed and misleading in how much attention they say they will give their residents. The place is beautiful, but I'm not satisfied with how they keep my mother's room. There's a lot of nice programs there, but she doesn't take part. The food is good. They just need more staff. We've had meetings and we've talked about things we want to change, but they don't change. They should be more responsive to requests and criticism.

Oakmont of San Jose was just basically outstanding, primarily because it had a brand-new building. It was the best of the ones I've seen. I loved that 90% of the food prepared is fresh, and only 10 percent is pre-packaged, that was great for anyone on a special diet, and they kept the dining room open from 7 am to 7 pm. Everything was awesome, the facility was just 3 years old. The dining room was on the upper floor and it had huge picture windows all the way around. I also ate lunch there, and it was outstanding. They showed movies in a little movie theater twice a day, and there was a craft project going on in a room.

I did not have any meals at Oakmont of San Jose, but I did look at the menu and it looked good. The rooms were acceptable. Everything was clean and nice. The people were great. The staff members were very nice. There was no problem at all. However, the rooms didn't have balconies.

Oakmont of San Jose is a newer facility and it opened in October of last year. It was very nice and I really liked it. The people in the memory care unit seemed very well cared for. It's a beautiful facility, but it's a little near traffic, so you can hear some traffic noise. I really liked the director and it seemed like a nice place.

Oakmont of San Jose was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful. They had more amenities and activities than you can imagine like a cafeteria, games, and socialization. They were finishing up a snack like a brownie that they had baked. I loved the community, but it was out of our price range.

Oakmont of San Jose has friendly staff, is beautiful, and has good food. They put my mom in assisted living, but she should be in the memory unit, so they're moving her this week. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and spacious; I wouldn't mind living in one. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. They have a little dog area, so I bring my dog to visit my mom; she loves that. It's pricey, but they're very caring and I really appreciate that.

We went to see Oakmont of San Jose, and it was OK,;it was a beautiful place. They had beautiful amenities, very nice people, and very nice facilities. They were very professional, and we felt that it would have been a very good fit for my parents. We saw the kitchen and the food preparation. It looked very nice for some menus.

Oakmont of San Jose was very nice. Actually it was the nicest place, and I like it the most. I liked the common areas a lot. The apartments were a bit on the smaller side and dark, but the common areas were very nice. Everybody was very nice; they had a good staff. The nicer apartments were very expensive, and the affordable ones were dark and small.

Oakmont looks very nice as it’s relatively new; it opened last September. I enjoyed the visit with my children and thought it was a good place. I liked the feel of it. The staff was very nice, and the people were friendly. They had a number of activities, but we haven’t made a decision yet. They have enough activities for people who care to participate.

Oakmont was brand new and nice. The only reason why we didn’t pick this one was because of its location. The staff was very accommodating and showed us around. The rooms were really nice. There wasn’t much going on when we were there because they had just opened. It was really nice, but the location was in a high traffic area. I will recommend it because the lady who helped us was so nice. If it had been located somewhere else, we would have put my mom in there.

Oakmont of San Jose was very nice. It had a movie theater, an exercise area, a wellness area, a beauty parlor, a dining room, and a garden area. It was a newer place, so it had a lot of different things. The staff was nice. I had the impression that the residents were happy living there.
