The facility is beautiful. The staff is very friendly. Do NOT apply here if your family has mental health issues. After taking our money, scheduling a move in, and buying furniture my father was denied because "we aren't equipped to deal with mental health issues." For the record, he has depression. My frustration is the stringing along. Now we have 2 days to find another facility for a loved one. We hid nothing during the application process. Very misleading.

We have half of a duplex in Wesley Palms. It's about 1100 square feet, which is just very pleasant. We are happy with our neighbors. We enjoy quite a few people in the community. We are just appalled at the price of what it costs us to live here, and we find the food difficult to deal with because it isn't very good many times. I think the facilities are really quite excellent. They are kept very well, by and large. There are 32 acres of grounds, and they are very lovely. There are a lot of activities one can partake in. We only do that occasionally, as there are many things that we're not very interested in doing. The place is very safe. The staff is very kind and very pleasant. We have absolutely no complaints about the staff.

Wesley Palms was very nice. The rooms were OK. They had a swimming pool, library, putting green, and a movie theater. The person I met was nice.

Wesley Palms San Diego Retirement Community was nice, but they didn't have anything available. They had a mile track around the property, which my father likes. But if he needed more assisted living, he'll have to move to another building. Everybody was nice and very welcoming there. My father likes this community, and the staff was really nice. They also have happy hours for the residents, and I like that they do a lot of activities together with its sister community under Front Porch Communities. The meals looked good and all three meals are included, which is a good selling point. It's a little more modern than its sister community that we also visited. They have a very pretty view where they're at, you see all of downtown, including the airport and the ocean. The one selling point is that they have the medallion you keep on your person, and if something's wrong you can push it to activate 911.

Wesley Palms was a very nice place and the tour was good and thorough. We saw common rooms and one resident's room, which was a brand new and standalone duplex; it was very nice. There was a nice cafeteria, a library, an auditorium where movies could be presented, and a putting green. There was also a 24/7 nure on staff. The facility is an older building, but it looks like it's well-maintained and it's nice. The common areas look like they have been modernized and well-kept.

Wesley Palms was too expensive. I saw a studio, and a 1- and 2-bedroom apartment. They're not spacious, but they're adequate. They had pretty much everything you could ask for. They have Bridge, movies, painting classes, exercises, and walks. At Pacific Beach, the properties are more expensive and a lot of them had views of the ocean, so you pay more for that. They offer three meals a day. The staff was very lovely, very helpful, and very pleasant. They have a library, a computer room, and an exercise room. The one meal we were invited to was nice.

Wesley Palms was undergoing a renovation. I have eaten there, and their food was very good. They have done a lovely remodel; when I visited it before, it looked like a basement of a Baptist church where the chairs lined up. They have a very small swimming pool, a computer class on Saturday morning, a bus, and concerts and symphonies. They have a maid service every week as well.

Wesley Palms is located way up on top of the hill. It is a big place with lots of little bungalows around. It is so expensive, but it's probably worth it. It has a beautiful view and is very high class. You can get anything from a studio to a two-bedroom unit.

I like Wesley Palms, but they have a long waiting list. Because it’s a senior living community, the people that already lived there and developed dementia were priority over anyone on the list. The setup was like individual summer homes. In fact, they called it their summer home area. It was a different kind of setup and was very, very nice. They just started memory care two years ago, so it was very recent. When I toured there, all the people were all doing a singing activity.

My mom has lived at Wesley Palms for two years. She loves the place, and it is wonderful. She has a small cottage with a kitchen, bedroom, and living area as well as a little storage area. She likes that their meals are optional as she prefers to have her breakfast and lunch out. They have a lot of tours and a lot of activities that she could do.

The one place that we really love and probably would consider is Wesley Palms. For one thing, it is being completely remodeled. It has separate cottages that would give us more independent living. You get your own garage right there, although, the downside is you have to drive or be driven to the main building for your meals. It wasn’t like living in a hotel; it was more like living in a condo. The staff was absolutely great. One thing that we liked when the staff showed us around was that everybody said, "hi," and, "hello," and she said, "hello," to everyone. It was a nice community feeling. There were plenty of people that were ambulatory. There were many, great activities going on. Also, the facility was fairly close to the beach. It was a great location. Great people. Great food. Great facility.

My mother had neighbors in San Diego that moved there in Wesley. She was a resident there and was very happy with it. Wesley Palms is very nice and contemporary. It is fairly open. Their marketing representative is very knowledgeable. She sat down with me and spent probably a good hour and a half going over their community. We were very close in selecting that one because my parents were living in San Diego at the time. They have both memory care and assisted living. The rooms in the assisted living, I did not see, but I did tour their summer house which is an open planned section. It is a secured environment for the Alzheimer's or Dementia patients.

I happen to have friends at Wesley Palms Retirement Community, and we looked it up on the internet to see what they offer. They staff members were very helpful. They gave us a tour and invited us to lunch so that we could sample the food, which was very good. The food was excellent. The dining room was very nice; it has a lovely view. It is not a five because it doesn't have skilled nursing.

I like the Summer House at Wesley Palms. I thought it was very beautiful. The rooms were well laid out. I like the fact that they had most of the things built in so that you did not have to buy extra furniture. I like the outdoor places where they could walk. There were trees and flowers. There were places where they could sit if they wanted. The thing I didn't like about this facility was the rooms; all of these were sort of like little cottages, and they all just came right out into the fresh air, so I thought, "Where do they go when it's cold or raining?" I didn't like the way there was no place inside where they could walk. They have a lot of activities though.

Someone referred my sister to Wesley Palms, and she had been there so this is like a second visit for her. She wanted me to check it out with her and see what I thought. Everyone was very courteous, knowledgeable, and very helpful. What we were interested in I believe they called them cottages. I think they have like a 4-story building that’s got apartments in it; those tended to look rather small for what we were looking at, but they have cottages that are individual. You have your own individual little building scattered throughout a very pretty campus, and these cottages were very spacious. The food was excellent and my sister had eaten there twice and she said both times the food was really good, and I thought it was good the time I was there. They have two separate areas in the dining room; one is a little bit more fine dining, and over around on the inside it looks more like maybe a little bit of a cafeteria look to it; both places were very nice. They have a very nice fitness center; it was small but it did have adequate things in it. They had a pool and some activities like a water rope. They do have vans that took you to doctors, took to you places, musicals, and shopping. They were very accommodating. The separate little cottages was a really nice atmosphere; it made it feel more like home, and that really impressed me.

The Wesley Palms had very lovely grounds and a nice walking area. It was a huge property, and from a lot of the places, you could see the ocean, and it was beautiful. But the rooms are the drawback. A lot of their rooms are outdated and need some work, so my mother was not interested. The staff was delightful. They have some of the nicest people there.

My father-in-law has been at Summer House at Wesley Palms for two months now. Since he moved in, he's doing much better. The staff is great and the food is great as well. One of the things my husband and I truly like about this is that it's a memory care facility. They have 22 studio cottages in a circle and they're all enclosed, so residents can't wander away. They each get their own little cottage and they can walk out their front door and sit in the sun or take a little stroll around the grounds which is really important for us. You don't get that at any other places.

My father, a mere 93 years young, is a loving and well cared for resident of Wesley Palms. Planning ahead he visited nearby next step housing for himself. Dad was a surgeon in a small mid-western town, retired to California. Living an active lifestyle and continued to work up to a few years ago. We tried a live in couple, that did not workout. My father on his own made the decision it was time to move. My bother and his wife decorated his new apartment with select furniture from home and a new high bed. Pictures of family, painting, his desk, part of the sectional.... all was in place before Dad came in. I visited recently for his birthday and was welcomed by staff and residents as Doc's daughter with open arms. I know my father is living the rest of his life well cared for with a quality of life that we had hoped for our parents. Wesley Palms has a superior staff that compassionate and caring. They know all residents by name, residents wear name badges. The facility is immaculate, pristine, 5 stars dining, many living options from cottages to efficiency rooms. Not to mention hotel rooms for family members. Exercise classes, cultural activities, beautiful grounds..... Wesley Palms is just plain wonderful.

Several months ago, my mother sold her house & became a resident at Wesley Palms, in San Diego. I have since visited her there a few times (it's a 2 1/2-hour drive for me). She says that she likes it there. The grounds are very nice; she has her own bungalow on the grounds. They also have a good variety of activities and a nice cafeteria with good quality food. She socializes with some of the other residents there. She also feels that the overall caliber of staff there is excellent. In her case, although she is eighty-three, she is in relatively good health, so she is able to maintain a good balance of autonomy and independence, while having the extra comforts and assistance that the facility provides. Wesley Palms also has rooms in their main building for other residents who require a higher level of assistance, although they are not set up to accommodate seniors with more serious, ongoing medical needs.

I visited there, with my mother, before she moved in, saw the grounds, which are very nice, and had dinner there. Subsequently, I helped my mother move there and have visited her after she was settled in. We both feel that the staff is very helpful and friendly. The dining area and food quality are also very good. There are activities of varied types, including lectures, games, classes, and films. In the few months she has been there, my mother has made some friends, although she doesn't interact with most of the residents because there are more than one hundred of them, in varying states of mental alertness. My mother is relatively (no pun intended) alert and active for her age, which is 85. Geography prevents me from visiting her more often, as I live in Los Angeles. When she was evaluating various places to move to after selling her house, she ultimately felt very satisfied with the choice she made. She has a one-room cottage to herself, amid very well-landscaped grounds, with many shade trees, birds, and such. The kitchen in her cottage is small, but all her meals are provided in the common dining room, which is staffed with very friendly and competent waiters and waitresses.
