I got a good impression of Timber Ridge at McKinleyville. It seemed clean, kind of positive, and nice. They have a good variety of rooms, which look like apartments. Everything looked fairly clean and well put together. They have a beauty salon, they play bingo, there are events, and a number of activities that my mother will be interested in. The staff seemed friendly and like good people. It's one of the better places I've seen. They have a small outdoor area.

We visited Timber Ridge at McKinleyville. The place was really clean, nice, and newer compared to the other place we saw. Everything was bigger. The staff who accommodated us was very polite.

Timber Ridge seemed a little bit more established and the rooms were bigger. It was just a little bit farther away and more expensive. My mom thought they would be very comfortable to live in and they had a lot of choices.

My first impression of Timber Ridge was fairly good. It seems well kept and clean. There are a variety of room optons available to the residents (studios, one-bedrooms, and shared suites with private bedrooms). I had the opportunity to visit the one bedroom. It's not incredibly spacious but enough room for a single person. I was told by my friend (resident of this facility) that most of the seniors don't spend too much time in their rooms anyway because of all the activities that occur in the common areas. The dining room was a pleasure. There are waiters instead of self-serve and everybody is entertained by the sound of a player piano (very refreshing from other facilites). There is a nice private dining room and living room as well where residents can host get togethers with loved ones on special occasions. I think I was most impressed by the overall "homey" feel of the place. It very much felt like going over to someone's home as opposed to a care facility for seniors. Pets are even allowed which is great.
