Nampa Senior Center(208) 467-7266Nampa Senior Center is a place for the city’s older citizens to meet and socialize with friends while also taking part in a range of activities designed to improve their fitness, such as senior aerobics. The center regularly organizes games of bingo, bridge, and pinochle. A $1 donation is requested for most activities. The center also offers freshly prepared lunches on weekdays for a suggested donation of $5 per meal for those aged 60 and over. 
Senior Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA)(800) 247-4422SHIBA is Idaho’s state health insurance assistance program. It is staffed by trained counselors and volunteers who provide free and unbiased advice and support to Medicare beneficiaries and seniors who need help enrolling. The nearest office to Nampa is in Boise. However, outreach programs operate in various locations —typically in senior centers. The counselors can help seniors identify their coverage needs and apply for the best Medicare plans for them. Although this may involve discussing private health care insurance, the counselors will not try to sell plans. Counselors can also help seniors who have been denied Medicare with their appeals.
