The Genworth 2020 Cost of Care Survey doesn’t contain senior care cost data for Miami-Dade County, but it does disclose care rates for the Miami area, which contains the county’s principal city of Miami. Based on this data, seniors in Miami-Dade County pay approximately $3,500 per month for assisted living, making it among the most cost-effective options in the state and the nation as a whole. Monthly fees are $200 less per month than the state median of $3,700 and $800 less than the national rate of $4,300.
Miami-Dade County may be a good option for seniors seeking affordable senior care, with fees coming in among the lowest in the state at $3,500. The state does contain a few cities with even more economically priced care, including the Tampa area, where assisted living facilities charge approximately $3,225 monthly, and the Sebring area, where fees are $2,895. In Ocala, care costs exceed the state average but are affordable compared to the national rate at $4,000 per month, and in the Sebastian area, assisted living facilities charge $4,500.
