CHOICES (Connecticut’s program for Health insurance assistance, Outreach, Information and referral, Counseling, Eligibility Screening) is a state-run program that’s free of charge to Medicare beneficiaries and seniors ready to enroll in a plan. Seniors can get unbiased information, advice, and support from counselors, who can help them identify gaps in their coverage and the Medicare plans that can resolve them. This might include discussions about private health care insurance. However, the counselors won’t try to sell insurance to seniors.
