I chose StoneBridge of Conway for my mother. It's wonderful. I love them. She was private pay and she needed a memory care unit, so they worked with me. I was in a rush to get her placed because the 24-hour care I had with her at home was dwindling. They did very well to work with me in the haste that I needed. Also, my grandmother was placed in that facility as well, and they took excellent care of my grandmom. The facility in general is beautiful. Everything is out in the open. They have a grand piano in the center of their dining room. It's new and very elegant. The memory care unit is open. They have different areas set out with different stations. They have a nursery station, like for baby dolls and nursery setups. They have a dress-up section set up with hats and scarves and an antique vanity looking thing. They have a little library area. They have different little activity stations set up throughout the unit, and it's not cramped. There are lots of room for the ladies to participate if more than one wants to participate. They have a movie area where all the ladies can sit around and watch movies. They have a game area with different therapeutic tactile things to stimulate. They have a pretty big-sized fish aquarium with different pretty big fish in it. They have a reading/writing section set up with the old-timey rotary style phone, where if they want to write letters or whatever, they can do that. My mom loves the food.

So far we were pleased with Southridge Village for my dad and my stepmom. The environment is good, and it is nice and clean. The people are friendly, and they have good food. They have lots of activities. They have music, bingo, and church. The staff is very responsive, and they let me know anytime if there is an issue.

I was really impressed with Southridge Village, and I would have put mother there. The only thing was that it's not Medicaid certified. It was a well-run assisted living place. They had very nice apartments and you could have a one-bedroom or two-bedrooms. They also have a section for advanced dementia, which was quite off-putting because it was more sterile, more hospital looking. But the residents still get their own room with their own bathroom, and it is secured against the rest of the facility, but they can participate in a lot of the same activities. The staff was nice and capable. You'd feel like your parents are safe there and well cared for. They had an on-site doctor. They had regular activities and their calendar was full for morning and evening throughout the week.
