My sister has been living at Amber Lights for 2 years now. It is a very nice place. She's happy where she is and she's doing well. She likes the climate there. She's in a well-cared-for place. They have a nursing staff that takes people that can stay there until they pass away. One of her favorite things to do is to go up to the dining room and visit with people and walk around the outside on the sidewalks because it's really warm weather there most of the year. Everybody is friendly and the place is clean. She has people who come in to help check on her regularly and give her her meds. We've been there several times, and the food is really good. There are lots of activities. People choose to do the activities they want to do.

I went to Amber Lights. They're friendly, warm, and clean. The room was larger than the other place I looked at. It's a one-bedroom plus a den and it's available now. The salesperson was very friendly and went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable, and we answered every question he had. He invited us for lunch, and we sat at the table for a long time, and several of the staff members came over to meet me, from the driver to doctors' appointments, to the administrative director, the chef, and other staff members. The dining area was clean, had good service, and has generous portions. I ordered a rice pudding dessert, and I found out they have ice cream, so I ordered that, too, and they brought it. They went out of their way to be nice. They had a flier for happy hour that afternoon. The next day, they were having an open house with a jazz band and New Orleans dinner with jambalaya, crayfish, and gumbo and they were excited about doing that. I would like to have gone to that. That's the kind of activities that I'm talking about that I don't think that the other place has.

We had a great tour with Kelly, He answered all our questions and filled us in on many more things we didn't even think about that will be very helpful. The rooms were very nice and light with all the windows as was the restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. They were having music that afternoon for Octoberfest and snacks and some German food on the menu which sounded very good. We did have lunch there and it was very good. There were many activities to enjoy so feel I would be quite comfortable there. I'm not quite ready to move but they will certainly be at the top of my list.

When you apply to Amber Lights, a medical assessment is done to decide if they can meet your needs. Our sister’s needs are not hidden. In addition to diabetes and high blood pressure, she has heart failure causing edema and needs wound care. Amber Lights accepted her anyway. She paid to have the carpet replaced with tile because of concern about incontinence caused by the high doses of diuretics that she takes for the heart failure. She cannot pack and unpack, so she paid for movers to do that for her. After exactly three months, she went to the hospital for an infected wound and then had to go to a rehab center. Two and a half months later, they said that she no longer needed specialized nursing, but Amber lights said that she could not return. They told us that it was because she needed care that was “beyond their medical licensure.” We offered to bring in private nurses, but they still said “no”. Our sister is not without fault. Evidently, she was demanding and difficult to work with. She was told by the doctor, by the rehab center and at least one Amber Lights staff member that was the real reason that they wouldn’t let her return. During the months that she was not there, she paid for the basic rent, board and services. At the end, she was also charged for an additional month of level two assisted living services, because they said the contract required it. In spite of Covid19, they allowed movers to go in and remove her furniture and belongings. My advice is, “choose carefully”. Consider whether there is any chance that your medical condition will require more than the most basic care because that is all that they claim to provide. If they can say that your needs are “beyond their licensure”, they can kick you out without any notice. (Our sister’s needs are now being well met at another assisted living facility that probably has the same license.)

Amber Lights is a very good place. Mom has already made friends, and they’ve been very good to her. Megan is delightful and very helpful. She had bent over backwards to help out. The staff that takes care of Mom is very lovely and very caring. The dining area is quite luxurious and beautiful. The wait staff this morning was lovely, smiling, and friendly. The food is very good. They have exercise and Zumba every day. They also have an outdoor pool. They will be having sing-along and music soon.

My mom lived at Amber Lights -- which is a great and wonderful facility. She had an apartment which was cleaned once a week, and the lady did a very nice job. The room was bright and had a little patio, several windows, and a little kitchenette. The staff is wonderful; they took my mother to exercise class and were very caring, and I was very pleased with them. We wouldn't have left except that my mom started to wander, and they didn't have a secure facility. The food was very good too.

Amber Lights seemed to be a well cared for and nice facility. There was one man in our church that stayed there who was always very happy with it, and they even accepted his pets. We have another friend there in memory care who seems to be doing fine.

Amber Lights provides independent as well as assisted care and don’t have a separate assisted living area. The staff who toured us showed us a little theater room, arts and crafts room, and an outdoor area with fountains and different plants. Inside, they have a living room where the residents can chat. The staff was very nice and professional. We ate lunch in the dining room, which had a lot of windows, so it's very bright.

I visited this facility with my mother for my parents for assisted living. The building is very nice and so are the apartments. We had lunch here and the food was terrible! It is the main reason we did not chose this facility. My parents have acquaintances who moved here and they were concerned about the food. The other reason we did not like it, is the saleswoman we spoke to was very creepy. Very high pressure and denigrated the Fountains where my parents now live - which has very good food and wonderful staff. Very unprofessional with these silly scripted comments! We also spoke to the Director briefly, who also made derogatory comments about The Fountains - which is about a block away. We could not get out of there fast enough!

I loved the caregivers at the facility. They took great care of my mother before she passed. However, the receptionist, Cricket was very rude and inattentive. She always seemed to be on break smoking when I needed help. Overall I loved the care the facility provides, I just wish it was more consistent, especially for the face of the company.

Amber Lights is a retirement community, and it is a very nice one. They have wonderful staff, and that is the best thing of it all. They are very good. The apartments are small, but they have a good housekeeping staff. They make everything in order for us. All of them have balconies and pretty grounds. It is nice. The dining room is huge. It is quiet and formal. It has chandeliers and things. That is probably the best feature that they are most proud of. The food is good. The services can be slow, but that is the only complaint I have. They have theater, movies, happy hour where they bring in live entertainment, exercise classes, and weight rooms. They have a very good reputation in the area.

My parents have lived in Amber Lights for 2 1/2 years. They were tremendous in facilitating hospice during my father's last year and continue to offer my mother great care. I have never heard anyone speak meanly to any of the residents and the care is outstanding. They are very responsive to my requests and have made this time in our lives as easy as it can be. The facilities are clean and bright and the food in the restaurant is great. We celebrate holidays there and enjoy their festive environment. This facility has been a great fit for my family and I appreciate all that they do for us and the helpfulness of the staff.

I visited this facility. The setting was really pretty; it was well lighted, not depressing or dark. The rooms I saw occupied a single bed with a kitchenette and an attached bathroom. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They offer several activities to their residents too. I observed their exercise class during my stay in this facility. I heard residents complain on the response time of workers, its delayed. Even in answering questions, they don't reply in a timely manner or in their request for assistance in going to the toilet. The outside area of this place is not covered. More shaded area would be better since its really hot in Arizona.

Facility was well maintained, Very nice elegant fecility, Med Techs, ding staff, and front desk wonderfull and very supportive. Yet on the other hand caregivers seemed overwelmed and stressed not many strong caregivers.
