My dad moved into Sunrise at River Road last month. He's in assisted living and he likes it there. It was a very seamless transition. When I spoke with the coordinator there, he was assessed right away and of course, we had all of his paperwork. I dealt with Deb there and it was a seamless operation as far as getting him in there. It was very easy and everybody is super nice at that location. He liked the people, he liked the facility, and he loves his room so he is doing very well. The food was the reason why he moved there. We took him there, he had breakfast and he liked it. He liked it there best because of the food. That was one of his influences. They offer all kinds of activities. For instance, next week, I believe they're going to be going to Mount Lemmon. He's gone to dinner a few times too. They've taken them to restaurants and they've taken them shopping. I think they go to Wal-Mart once a month. They've had concerts there as well, they had different people come in and play piano and stuff, and they have movie nights. They have different types of activities there and he's already met a couple of people that he likes that are his friends. My only issue is, I think at this point, they have him at a higher level of help, but he doesn't need it. My dad is very independent, he doesn't need to be bathed, and he takes himself to breakfast. He does just about everything on his own, except they come in to give him his medication. They told me that they charged him at a higher level because he needs to be woken up every day. The first month that he was there, he did need to be woken up every day because he was used to sleeping in but now he gets up on his own and goes to have breakfast but they're still charging me a higher level, and I don't quite believe that's necessary. They charge more than what he needs to be charged.

I went to Sunrise at River Road. Their staff was extremely nice. And they had a very inviting entryway to it. The staff was very informative and very nice. They had very clean facilities. They were very occupant-oriented. They were doing some activities with the people that lived there when we were there.

I toured Sunrise at River Road. The woman who was selling it was a lovely person, and I liked her a lot. The facility was excellent. Everything looked clean. They were a little higher. If I wasn't in town and wasn't able to help my mother a lot and she got any weaker than she was, I would have taken her to Sunrise. Their assisted living is really good because they have somebody that works directly with you. It's like your little person that concentrates on you and stuff. They seemed very good. The rooms were very nice, too.

My mother will be moving into Sunrise at River Road. She just needs a little care at this point. She likes the layout of the living arrangements and the price. She likes the size of the apartment. The staff was nice and friendly. Everything seemed good. I had a good meal there. My mom was looking for something not too elegant, just more homey and she felt more at ease there. It's not so upscale. It was a more relaxed setting and not as large as some of the others we've been to. Everything was in pretty tip-top shape, clean, and nice. The rooms they showed us were nice and nice-sized and had adequate lighting, and she liked that. It was kind of homey, nice, relaxed, and not busy.

I went to look at Sunrise at River Road. I liked the knowledge of the lady who gave me the tour. The facility was really neat and clean. Everybody was nice. The staff was nice. The facility was great. I would love for my dad to stay there. The apartments were really nice. They don't have skilled nursing there, which is the only issue we may have in case my dad needs skilled nursing. They were playing cards when I was there. They had a little garden at the back, a barbecue pit, and seating areas. They showed me a one-bedroom apartment and a studio.

Sunrise at River Road is a smaller community of about 100 people, it's three floors, spaced out to 30 or 35 people on each floor. Very bright, very welcoming. Their dining area is set in the front of their building, and it's glass, completely open to the sun, so natural light throughout the facility, and it spans the entire half of their facility. It's a very bright, very updated, facility as far as new, and you can see every nook and cranny. What sets Sunrise apart is each floor has a designated attendant and floor manager that checks on each person on the floor and there's a daily care staff that knows each of the residents, so there's a hierarchy of care there. All of their facilities were bright and welcoming. They had a gardening area that wrapped around the building and patio area. Everything was very open and bright and welcoming, and the staff was also the same, and the price point couldn't be beaten, probably the lowest I've seen in Tucson yet at $2100. They start with assisted living and memory care. The rooms are 4500 square feet. There's a little kitchen and it has a microwave, and they don't have a stove in the facilities, which makes sense. They don't do independent living. It's assisted living levels and memory care. The rooms were lovely, with very large bathrooms, handicap accessible, a large closet area, and a large window area. They have chapel services and all of that, but they also have a full chef's kitchen that is accessible to residents if they want to cook and can cook on their own.

I toured Sunrise at River Road. It was very good. It was very clean. They had a lot of things for them to do. They had the game room. That was all that was going on at the time I was there, but they told me about some of the things that they do. The staff were very informative, and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The room was very clean and neat. It was small, but my friend was only looking at a small one.

Sunrise at River Road was really nice. They had great facilities and a great atmosphere. When I looked at a studio apartment, the cost was $6000. It was just too expensive for me. They have concerts and several activity rooms, where you could do crafts, bingo, play cards, and do puzzles. The facility just seemed a little worn. The carpets weren't necessarily clean.

Have been very impressed with management and staff. Well trained staff, they check on my family member periodically thru the day without having to be called. Management is very proactive in making sure policy and procedures are being followed. When notified of an issue management sees that the issue is addressed promptly. Facility is well kept.

Please don't waste your time at this facility. It may look nice on the surface but, underneath it is just not a good place at all. I was quoted one price and it was in my Mother's price range but, after I spent hours filling out and uploading tons of requested move in paperwork, the old "bait and switch" routine was pulled. At the 11th hour they jacked the price up from $51base rate for a studio apt to $65. Katrina didn't even have the decency to at least make a counter offer. It was well, if you don't accept it at this price, you can pick up your $500 deposit. This place is no different then dealing with an unscrupulous used car dealership or some other unsavory place. It's really disgusting that they know that when you go there you obviously have a loved one who needs care and they make sure to take advantage of you and your loved ones vulnerabilities. I want to say more but what would be the point. The kind of people who would treat the elderly so shabbily would never understand why what they did was so abhorrent. In a way they did my Mom a favor, I guess. We now have the chance to find a kinder place for her.

My mother will be moving into Sunrise at River Road. I can't really say how she likes it yet, but out of all the places we went, it was the one she left saying, "I can see living here." Some she said, "I really like," but that one she left saying, "I could move in right now. I like this place." This was the second place we had toured, but every place that we toured after, we just kind of compared to it. They had more staff. It just seemed like they had a little bit more to offer than the other places (not so much one-on-one care), but it seemed like they had more caregivers in the facility. They had studios and one-bedrooms. They had the usual stuff, just groups that get together. They had a schedule of all the activities they had coming up. It seemed like they had a lot of things to do. They also had a nice patio or outdoor area as well to have a little more room to kind of move around outside. They had a library and a salon. The staff was very good and easy to get ahold of. Obviously, if they were in the middle of a tour, I couldn't speak to them, but they got back to me relatively quickly. They answered any questions that we had. My sister also had contacted them. Any of us that had questions, they were really good.

The concierge at Sunrise at River Road was super friendly, offered us water bottles, told us to have a seat, and that they would be right with us. Our guide was Deb. She was exceptional, and she was probably the best guide of all of them. She gave us a very detailed packet. The facility was excellent, and it was clean. We didn't try the food, but they offered it. The dining room was clean, and the residents were very happy. They were also very friendly. It's a wonderful location. Although there was a little bit of difficulty turning into it because you have to go up a street, then the main road, and then it says to make a U-turn. It was fine though. We didn't have a problem at all. I love the cleanliness and the feel of the place most. I left with a good feeling. I feel good overall. All of it was good: the services, the activities, and everything.

The staff at Sunrise at River Road was very knowledgeable. They had a great presentation, but the rooms were just too much like a hospital. The dining area was like an open place and this may have been the place that I saw was using plastic utensils, paper plates, plastic or paper cups, and I didn't like that at all. I know they do it for safety but I still didn't like that at all. The place was pretty homey and had a nice outside appearance. When I was there, they just had some people in a room and they're all watching TV.

I went to Sunrise at River Road and inquired what the assisted living and memory care would involve. There's not much to tour with Covid, but a few things were pointed out. I was impressed with their description of the activity or what their philosophy of memory care was, but of course, I would want to see more with my own eyes before I accept what they said. The rooms were small. It's not a 2-bedroom, but a 2-room apartment, so you have one that could be a bedroom and one that could be the living room. It had very little closet space for storage though. There was only one staff that I met and gave me the tour, and she was very knowledgeable, friendly, and did a fine job. Everything is delivered to the room because of Covid. They just said the dining room was down the hall. I have also read their website and talked about nutrition with them. Everybody was in their room during my visit. Activity-wise, they took some trips and there's a walking path where they would take their residents out, and that's about it. Because of Covid, you're not gonna get a whole lot of information, but they did the best they could. They provided me with a mask and a shield, and they're very conscious about Covid. The rooms were small. The square footage was small, but they're doing the best with what they have.

I have visited my friend several times and am always impressed with Sunrise's cleanliness. His wife shares all of the newsletters she receives from the director of Sunrise and I am consistently amazed at the extremely low number of Covid19 positive cases and how quickly the appropriate measures are taken. And more often than not, there are no positive cases! Given the tragic Covid19 death statistics in elderly care facilities, if somebody asked me about Sunrise, I would enthusiastically recommend it. I am also impressed with the staff's kindness to the residents especially at this terrible time of isolation.

Sunrise at River Road was a very nice community and it had a memory care, but it was much larger and much more expensive. The staff was good. One thing that really impressed me was that the staff tends to stay for a long time, which is always a good sign. If the staff is happy, they're taking good care of the residents.

We've visited Sunrise at River Road and it was very nicel; it's just gorgeous. It smelled nice and clean, not like antiseptic. The lady who took me around was excellent, she was really sweet, wonderful, and nice. We met their activities director and she told us about all the things they have going on. The only thing I wish they would do is lower the cost, because the price is just outrageous.

Sunrise seemed nice and clean, and the people are nice. They seemed to take good care of my dad. The food is very good, I liked the dogs they have on site, and I liked the entertainment they do. The activities are fun, and I like the poker, Bingo, and all the extra things they do for my dad. I would recommend it.

Sunrise needs some upgrading; it looked dim, but the people there seemed quite nice. They had a very small open area, they had a library, and they had some activities available. They had a cafeteria in each building. They didn't have as much for transportation.

Sunrise was very spacious and nice. It has an elevator. You could take your animal in your room. I like the idea that there were animals all around. They have programs for dementia care and other interesting programs. They also included the family members a lot of the times.

Sunrise at River Road's rooms were lovely, and the décor is very nice. They have a very relaxing atmosphere. The setup of the rooms was very nice. The personalization on the exterior of the rooms that they could do was very encouraging, and a lot of the views were very nice from the rooms because it overlooks some of the mountain areas. It was cheaper. It's an ample-sized facility, but you wouldn't have to navigate through the hallways, and it was less confusing.

Sunrise was really nice, and we looked at that for my mom. I liked the way they had music, and they were organized. They had people coming for live music, they made sure the residents sit for dinner, and they had activities so the elders would not be bored.

Sunrise was very nice and very clean. It wasn’t as large as others, but the grounds were very well-kept and nicely landscaped. It had a great, big wrap-around front porch that had a bunch of rocking chairs on it where you could go out and sit, which I thought was nice.

Sunrise was a lovely place, and everybody was so friendly. It’s not a very big place. They have a group that knits and crochets that makes and sells things, and the money goes to Alzheimer’s research. The staff is really great. The dining area was a nice size, and the food was really good.

I was very impressed with Sunrise at River Road. It was more of a corporate institutional place, not a home environment. It would've been our second choice. I would not take my mother there if I wanted her to be in a place that wasn't more geared to a home environment though. Everyone that I met was very cordial and interactive. We had lunch there, and it was good. The rooms were much smaller than where my mother is now. They had an immense amount of activities and in some ways probably it would've been overwhelming for my mom who has Alzheimer's.

This is a very nice facility with a wonderful and caring staff. The only drawback is the poor quality of the food that is served to the residents. This subtracts 2 stars from an otherwise 5 star facility because meals play a very important role in the quality of life to those that live there.

The visit at Sunrise River Road was very nice, and the lady there was very nice. I was supposed to have lunch with them. The rooms were very small -- slightly bigger than studio apartments. They had games and a community dog who moved from room to room; he was nice. They had cards and movies. I saw two small dining rooms -- one downstairs and one upstairs. The upstairs one was a little more casual. The atmosphere seemed nice; I spoke to a couple of residents, and they said they were very happy there and enjoying.

We chose Sunrise at River road mainly because of the people that were there. The workers and residents all seem to be happy to be there. They were very content in where they were living. There was just a good vibe all the way around. The room that my mother got is very nice. It is a one bedroom, but it is very roomy, so she won't be crowded with her furniture and her walker. It is a real nice room. It's such a nice place, and she is very happy there.

My relative has been at Sunrise at River Road for months now. It is very nice and she loves it very much. It is close to our home. The staff is very nice, very good, and they're professional. It seems to be a good place. I had lunch and dinner there, and the food was fine. The chef is good and very approachable. They have a great calendar of activities every day. I've seen games like bingo, exercises, and they have walks, too. Their grounds are very nice. I do wish they get her to exercise more, but they don't force them. However, they could improve at cleaning the rooms and to take over a little more because they don't want to touch the clothes or the drawers.

I found Sunrise at River Road to move my father into. We chose that one because it has the memory care that my dad needs, and it has bigger rooms than other places we looked at. You could have a choice of the room: a bedroom with a living room, or a studio. They also seemed to have the most welcoming environment; the manager seemed helpful and very good. All the activities are designed for people with memory issues, like current events activities. The food is good.

We are extremely pleased with Sunrise at River Road. My parents have been there for two months now and we are very grateful. The staff is all warm, welcoming, and gracious. They are extremely accommodating. It's a lovely environment. The care is fantastic. My parents are very happy. The transition was wonderful. We looked at other places in Tucson and it was the best that we saw and we loved it.

This is a gorgeous facility. It is 2 story with beautiful Victorian style architecture. It has a walking path which goes all around the facility with places ro sit. They have a large patio and bbq area in back. In the front they have a large porch. The grounds are nice with greenery and floors. They have 105 residents. The apartments are studio, one and two bedroom with partial kitchens. They have cable, phone, and internet access. The interior is beautifully decorated. They have sitting rooms, tv room, activities room, a small library, computer room and a nice formal dining room. They serve three meals a day and snacks. It is restaurant style so there is a lot of variety. The food is great. They offer housekeeping and linen service. They have all three levels of care. There are two nursrs on duty daily and on call. They have docters who come in. They transport to appointments if necessary. They have a hairdresser and activities director. They have a very busy activity program. In house they have bingo 4 times a week, other games, exercise program, karaoke. live entertainment, birthday parties, theme parties, and bbqs. They go shopping once to twice a week. They have outings such as bowling, luncheons, movies, concerts, and picnics two to four times a week. This a wonderful facility with lots of things to do. It gives a very homey atmosphere and staff is very caring.
