My brother has moved into Orchard Mesa. They have a lot of activities. His room is just enough for him. The office staff seems very nice. The upkeep seems to be good. They keep the grounds well-maintained, and it is nice and green. I always see the maintenance people around, so that part is good. One drawback would be that the place is really small. It's only for one person, and I think a couple would have a hard time with it. The biggest drawback would be parking. You have to walk a long way to get to your car, and you have to be on a waiting list to get a closer or a covered place. However, you do what you have to do when you only have so much money. The choices are limited.

I got my mom in a place called Orchard Mesa. It worked out perfectly. She is in it, and she is having a good time. I would suggest them because they have activities and stuff, and it's just great. I've searched a whole lot of them, and a lot of them have a waiting list, but out of all of them that I went to and got the names of, The Orchard Mesa was the best. Their wait list wasn't too long, and they're a 55 and over community. Everything is in the area, and they're nice, so it was the perfect place for her. Everybody is great there. My mom loves it. She is getting back to her old self like dressing and not being depressed. She is making her own food. They have apartments. You got first and second-floor one-bedroom apartments. As for activities, there's bingo, karaoke, church, ice cream social, movies, and all kinds of things. They have a clubhouse where they do everything, they have a library, they have a fitness room, and they have a pool. It's nice. They go by what you make, and it is subsidized. You can only make a certain amount, and there's like about three different prices depending on what type of place you get, so it's very nice. I would suggest to anybody that is still independent and needs to be around people to go there.

Orchard Mesa is a very nice place to live and it's very inexpensive. My room is convenient, but a bit small. There are a lot of activities, but most of them I don't participate in. However, I love the swimming pool. The staff is very accommodating. It's very nice and clean. There isn't any food.

My mother is living at the Orchard Mesa. It's always clean, well kept, and the rent is affordable. The people respond when there's a maintenance issue. They are really friendly. They have events that make it fun. She is happy and thriving there. The only negative is there's not as much parking, which would be nice for visitors. Other than that, it's been a great place. They have a van that takes them to do their groceries and things like that. There are a fries and an ice cream store across the street. If they're ambulatory, there are plenty of options. The apartments have a full kitchen. Everything's really nice.

The apartment homes at Orchard Mesa are rather small, basically 400 square feet. The amenities within the apartment are just your basics, but the place itself is nice. They don't serve any meals, but you do have a little kitchenette inside your apartment. The facility is very well landscaped. I did like the grounds. They are well maintained. They have an excellent activity program and a good transportation program. However, the big selling feature of the whole facility is that they have about 30 to 35 fruit trees on the property and residents there can have all the fruits that they want.
