My mother-in-law moved in at Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills. Her unit is unfurnished, with 1 bedroom and a nice bathroom. Some units are more spacious than others. Three meals are included per day. They have a lot of activities, like bingo, crafts, happy hour, and chair exercises. They contract with a group that does therapy on-site. They have on-site nursing staff available 24/7. My mother-in-law chose this place and she likes it a lot. They have a chef, so all the food is prepared in-house. I've tried some of the food and they are all good. They also have a lot of varieties. We've looked at other places and the costs are all the same. I think for what we're getting, I'd rate it a 5.

We visited Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills and my mother was supposed to move in, but then we had to put it in the backburner because of COVID. The place was clean, the people were personable, and the rooms were pretty big. The staff was nice, informative, and available. We've been to some places where the staff just brushed us off or put us off, that's why I say that the staff there is available and accommodating. They have a separate building for memory care than the one we went to see. They offered us a meal there, but we didn't have time to do that. They accommodated us though we hadn't made an appointment and just went in.

Our friend was a resident in the memory care unit and it was a nightmare! The bedrooms are all locked during the day and all the residents sit in a large gathering area where they eat, so activities, etc. When we asked to put something in her room, they unlocked it and we saw that the room had clothes everywhere along with used depends on the floor. True, there were a few workers there who genuinely cared for the residents, but the rest were at times more interested in their cellphones than in interacting with the residents. Our friend lost her glasses while at Arbor Oaks, as well as her wedding ring! (When asked about it, staff claimed she never had one on.) Family has since moved our friend to another state. Very relieved that she is no longer there. Even though the facility looks great, it is important for family to constantly monitor care of their loved ones to ensure that they are not mistreated or ignored by staff.

First, from the website, room service meals are not offered, unless the resident is ill. The party, coffee room, tv room are all the same space. There are 2 choices of meals on the menu and lunch is the heaviest meal. For dinner, most days is a sandwich, on stale bread, and another light entree. We were promised more homecooking but that hasn't happened. There is a high turnover of aides and servers. I can only assume it is because of low pay. Problems with aides are not always addressed and some residents are left waiting on help for up to half an hour.

My mother was at Arbor Oaks for nearly four years, and everything was excellent. I can't say anything bad about the place. I ate there, and the food was great. I didn't run across any situation where the staff didn't behave properly or come up with the right answer. Everything was good about that place.

For assisted living, Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills was no question the best, but when we visited memory care, it was like entering a different facility. It wasn't up to par. It was well decorated, the people were very nice, and we liked their program, but part of the memory care was stark, had a little bit of a nursing home smell, and the space available for activity or social gathering was very limited. The rest of it was very wide open with a lot of places for people to go and visit. It was almost bleak-looking.

Our experience at Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills was very good. I enjoyed it. The apartments were roomy and handicap accessible. Their staff was very friendly. It was a nice, homey atmosphere. The dining area was very nice, very pleasant, and well lit. I think they had a lot of things available for the residents. They had a little Sunday area like an ice cream stand that was really cute and welcoming. They could improve on transportation. They need either more drivers or more help in that area. The price was very good and comparable.

We moved my mother into Arbor Oaks, and she loves it there. The place is beautiful, like a five-star hotel. The dining room has beautiful drapes and beautiful chandeliers, the food is excellent, and they serve you on linen tablecloths. She is getting excellent care. In fact, she had been in rehab for about six weeks, and in a month at Arbor Oaks, she was doing better than she had been doing the six weeks at the rehab center. In the rehab center, they kept her in a wheelchair and on oxygen, and now she’s in a walker and has a little portable oxygen. Yesterday we went to have dinner with her and she didn’t use it during dinner; she uses it at night when she sleeps. Somebody comes in every couple of hours and checks on her, and they do her laundry for her. It’s just a beautiful place. She has a little studio, but there’s plenty of room because she has a double bed, a sofa, a chair, a china cabinet, and a dresser. There’s a little sitting area in every place, and on the second floor where she is, they have a screened-in balcony where they can sit. They have a little ice cream parlor where they have ice cream socials on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Every Friday, they have a little happy hour where they have non-alcoholic margaritas that they bring in. It’s very nice. They have more activities and 24-hour assistance for her. She said last night it was so much nicer than the other place, so she’s very happy, and I would recommend it to anybody. I think it’s wonderful.

Sharon, thank you for the kind words. I'm glad your mother is enjoying her time at Arbor Oaks.

My mother-in-law was in Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills. It was fine for assisted living, but not for memory care. It's more geared towards assisted living than what we felt was required for a memory care patient. The dining area was just tables, and there was one dining area for the entire assisted living. There was a separate locked down area for memory care patients.

Arbor Oaks was very nice. It was clean, without any nasty odors, and everybody seemed happy. However, we didn’t think my dad would do as well there, and it’s not as close to us.

Arbor Oaks was very nice. I liked the fact that they had walk-in showers. They had a full kitchen; just a burner for a stove but it was very nice. The apartments there were sufficient and there was a whole lot of room. They had a couple of different styles and the fact that it was brand new was very appealing. The people there that showed me around were very nice. They did have other services there and quite a bit of amenities.

We visited Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills. The rooms and the facility were nice, and the people who work there seemed to be very nice. However, the residents seemed to be not happy and looked overmedicated. They were in their wheelchairs in the lobby, and I wasn't real happy with watching the residents interact. The facility was beautiful, the people were great, and the dining room was luxurious. The rooms were quite nice; they had availability. The food looked good, and they had a great menu. The residents just didn't seem to have much participation in any activity.

I have friends at Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills. It's got an assisted living facility, an Alzheimer's unit, and a huge independent living facility they just built. They built it all around the lake, and they have public balconies facing the lake. They have a spiral staircase in the independent living facility, which is absolutely amazing. The assisted living facility also has a spiral staircase, a library, ice cream parlor, and a beauty salon. They have games, bingo, singers playing the piano and singing, and ice cream socials. I was told by one gentleman that they have a bigger vehicle and a small vehicle, so if the people need to go to doctor's appointments, they are able to accommodate them. They have great staff. I absolutely love the people. It's a gorgeous place. They have rockers in the front porch, so the people can enjoy the outside. Everyone seems very happy.

Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills is very new and very nice as well. I liked it. The grounds were nice, and for my father it would be a little too affluent. He would have gotten lost. The people were very nice. The dining room seemed very nice as well. The lady at the front desk was nice, but she was not able to take us on a tour because she had no help and she can't leave the desk. We talked to a couple of residents, and they seemed to like the place.

We visited Arbor Oaks for my neighbor. It was a very nice facility. We even had dinner there, and it was very good. The room was very nice. The woman who showed us the facility was very friendly. She made a call afterwards to see why we didn't take it, so I told her it was the price.

My husband is doing well in Arbor Oaks. I was really impressed with the facility. It looks like a city hotel to me. I had lunch there one day, and it was good. The rooms are very nice. They have huge bedrooms with a really big bathroom and a small kitchenette. They have activities like social hour, ice cream parlor, bingo, and movie night. They also have church every Sunday. Everybody that I have met has been over the top nice, and I have not seen anybody in a bad mood. They are really good.

I visited this facility some time ago and found it simply beautiful. It affords individuals the accommodations they need for independent/assisted living and the amenities were quite nice. The location is so pleasant and close to everything that's necessary including: transportation to necessary appointments, shopping, entertainment, etc. Unfortunately, we found it too expensive for our budget though.

My parents moved in at Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills. My parents really like it there. The aides that they have are very kind, understanding, and very helpful. They have a nurse on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's a really nice place. The meals are very good. My parents are always saying that the food is delicious. They have a lot of activities for them to do.

The staff is wonderful at Arbor Oaks. The facility itself is gorgeous. Everything is up to date, and it seems like a really nice, welcoming place. The food is not really up to par. It seems that's the worst thing. But the rooms are spacious and very clean. I like the cleanliness and the helpfulness of the staff.

My relative is in Arbor Oaks for a couple of years now. It’s a very well-run facility. He has a private room there. It was very compact but all the amenities that you needed were right there. The staff was excellent. The food looked appetizing but I didn’t eat there. My relative was very satisfied with the place. They had a library, they watched movies, and they had a snack bar area where they could have ice cream, milkshake, fresh baked cookies and popcorn.

Staff is caring, and go out of their way to help. It's a new place, but I'm sad to see neglect of entrance upkeep. The meals are not all fresh ingredients as was promised. using prepackaged foods with preservatives and other additives is not healthy for those on all those medications.yes they may be within state guidelines, but why not go above and beyond to serve simple delicious, nutritional foods. other than the dining, Arbor Oaks seems a bright, fun place to be. always something to do...kudos to the entertainment director...

Arbor Oaks is a very nice facility. It's pretty new, bright, and cheery. It looks like a luxury hotel. They have a library and a reception area. When we visited there, they were having a little group jam session. The staff were very friendly and helpful to the residents. They were very generous in touring us around the facility. If I had a choice, I would like to see my mother go in at Arbor Oaks.

We really like Arbor Oaks. The staff are all very nice. My sister-in-law went there, and she is able to do more than she is now. It's very clean. My husband and I go over there almost every day, so we always check on her. I think their programs and social directors are both doing a wonderful job. It's a very good facility. We're very happy.

We moved my father to Arbor Oaks in Lakeland in November 2010. Dad went reluctantly, but he eventually settled in and was very happy there. The entire staff at Arbor Oaks were very kind and patient with Dad and you could tell they really care about not only him, but all their residents. They are able to get their residents to participate in all activities and they know when to leave them alone. Dad passed away 4/30/12; if we had to do it all over again, we would definitely choose Arbor Oaks. We visited several facilities before deciding on Arbor Oaks and were so happy we did. We hightly recommend Arbor Oaks of Lakeland for your loved one. Visit them and you will see immediately the good care your family member will receive.
