My mom was a past resident at Renaissance Assisted Living, and that was a good experience. It was very homey, very clean, and had a lot of activities. They had relatively good staff. The rooms were good and very roomy, but the food wasnt good. They had a salon, library, and a billiard table.

Renaissance advertises itself as assisted living but it looked more like an old-fashioned nursing home with people in the hallways drooling and confused. My first impression was really negative because the first thing I saw was a confused woman who was in a really bad shape. I am a nurse and know nursing homes, so I thought, “Oh my gosh, she shouldn’t be here if this is truly assisted living.” Nobody said “hi” to us. It was just creepy. Everything was really outdated like from the '70s or '80s, so that was a turn off. Even if I had made an appointment, no one seemed to be there to greet us, be friendly, and be excited to show us around. I just expected more. It would be fine if it was just a straight-up nursing home, but they advertise assisted living. That was a pretty good nursing home but not what I was expecting when I walked in.

The Renaissance was huge and very fancy; the location was very good. They did not supply meals, but you can eat if you pay extra. It was very good pricing, but you have to add for the meals. The residents there are more active. It’s like The Grand Hotel, the rooms were very nice and most have a little kitchen and a refrigerator. The atmosphere is elegant. I would recommend it for certain seniors.

Renaissance was recommended to us and my mom had stayed there for eight years. It was fine. The staff had good work ethics. Mom was in an apartment with a bedroom, a spacious bathroom, living room and a small kitchen area. The food was fine with my mom. They had outings and card games. I liked that it was fairly small. So, all the staff knew my mom and she had a lot of personal care. However, they could improve on their rent costs because it seemed to go up each year

A friend of mine was in The Renaissance and so I went over and visited him and then he showed me around. They got one of the nurses involved and lo and behold the room right next door to my friend was open so I got it. The people at The Renaissance were very helpful, they sent me literature and what to look for, and they gave me all kinds of good advices. My mother moved in July 30th. It worked out really well. She likes it, she's comfortable, so I feel good about it. It's right on my way to work, I can just drive right by there. Meals are good, people are friendly, and they got everything there for you.

While I only visited the facility a handful of times, I could tell my my grandmother was quite happy with the accommodations. The staff was very kind and courteous. The room she was in was spacious and allowed for a great deal of privacy. She had her own bathroom and small kitchen area but she could get assistance at any time needed. They provided cooked meals and I did sample some lunch one Sunday afternoon and I must admit it was quite delicious. Their also seemed to be a a lot comradeship among the people staying their grandma introduced me to a few of her friends and I could see they were pretty well acquainted. I was completely satisfied with the care she was receiving.
