I'm living at Summit Woods. I'm on the fourth tier of assisted living. It's a nice-looking building. It's kept clean. There's a family room, a dining room, and a foyer in the front of the building. There are one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. The services are very good. The food is varied, and it's also very good. I have no complaints about the food. There's a lady that's in charge of the activities. She provides trips to different restaurants and different locations (like in the fall to go see the colors they've been to Sunflower Farm and Pumpkin Farms). They go to various different places. There's also a singing group in the building. There are other nights when they have trivia and bingo. Sometimes she brings in live entertainment. It is local people that will come in, play, and sing for you. There's hairdressing available for women and men. There's a little workout room if you want to get up and exercise. There's a big library. There's a little country store that's open three days a week. There's a nurse on-staff. We're doing fine.

We went to Summit Woods. The rooms on the north side were too dark. There's no light coming in even on a bright, sunny day. And those were the rooms they showed us that were available. There's a room that had no balcony, and it felt way too enclosed. It was an older facility, but it was well kept up.

Summit Woods has everything we need. They have a well maintained building, and the people are really friendly. They have lots of programs if we need it. We will be moving into independent living, and then we can go to assisted living if we need to. The apartment we're taking over was well cleaned up and painted. It's in good shape. They have movies, exercise classes, little meetings, and transportation to shopping centers. They also have a nurse, a hair salon, and a country store. It's pretty well set up, and it's one of the better ones around here.

Summit Woods seemed to be the nicest and active. The people there seemed to be in good shape. The place was very clean and very nicely kept. It's close to a lot of things but still all by itself. They had what looked like just a regular apartment, which was nice, and it had a full kitchen and nice views.

Summit Woods had a bigger building, so they had more people. What I like is that for a person on a wheelchair, it was easy to get around because the hallways were big. You can decorate before you can go into your private rooms, but the studios were too small. The 1-bedrooms were big enough and very nice. They had special things like a tub that's wheelchair accessible, like a sauna, which was nice. The cook showed me the menus, and their meals are balanced and good. It was really nice.

The place was great. They have spacious rooms with an option of one or two bedrooms apartment-style. They have scheduled community service and the people were so nice. It was pretty pricey and my mom actually only has a little money to start with.
