My parents were at Kettle Park Senior Living. They were in an apartment together. The staff was very good. They had a salon, they had someone who cut hair, they had exercise classes, and they had a gym. The service was good. The people were very caring. They would knock on their door and say, 'Hey, we've got something going on. Would you like to join us?' It was very inclusive. Everybody would acknowledge the residents and their families. The facility itself was kept well and clean. Some of the cleaning staff could be a little more thorough inside the apartments. However, if the residents were ill or needed assistance, the people were very good at offering their help.

One of the things my parents liked about Kettle Park Senior Living was the age of the building. The decor felt nice, clean, and homey. It looked professional, and yet welcoming and warm. They also liked the number of units and residents, as well as the opportunities available to them on the campus. Chris was wonderful. He was one of the directors there, and he gave us a tour. He was very personable, very warm, and answered a lot of questions. He was friendly and kind. He gave us a lot of information and he did a really nice job. They actually had an entertainer playing a guitar as we walked in, and it was off in part of the dining area into the sitting room. The thing that was very impressive was that the entire room was filled with residents. We loved the fact that they were engaged, they were participating, and they were interested. They also had a craft activity room, a workout room, a TV room, a salon, and a social room. Another room upstairs was a huge kitchen where you could have families come in and reserve it to do something special. The dining room was very nice. They had a kitchen there. They had a bar area there. The meal plan was very appealing. You can have no meals and just cook independently in your apartment, or you can come down for one meal, two meals, or three meals a day.

Kettle Park Senior Living was like a hotel. They just opened, so it was new. When you walk in the front door, there's a big fireplace sitting there with furniture around it and there were a lot of people sitting there just chatting. I think what their deal was, they start at a low price, like $2500, and then everything was a la carte. If you want somebody to clean your apartment, or somebody to manage your meds, or if you want a parking place underneath, you add those on. We were there at Cinco de Mayo and they were having a happy hour. Not only did they have an activity director, but also an assistant activity director. They do exercises, movie night, they have knitting club, baking club, and golf clubs. They even have golf greens outside their facility. I didn't think their kitchen setup was quite nice and they didn't have balconies. It was just a bedroom, but the facilities were beautiful. The gentleman that led us on the tour was taken a little off guard because he didn't know we were coming. I think something didn't work out in the scheduling but, he made time for us anyway. He was very pleasant and was very nice. Even the people at the desk were very accommodating.
