My brother moved into The Ridge at Madison. We chose it because they had a 1-bedroom apartment available, and after a certain length of private pay, they will take Medicaid. It is a very clean facility, and everyone seems very friendly. They have easy access to laundry, and they have 3 meals a day. They have bingo and other activities where the residents could get together. His apartment is very nice, has plenty of room, and is very wheelchair accessible.

My brother moved into Avalon Assisted Living Community. The experience is very good. I like, especially with everything that's going on right now, I like the care he's getting, the nurses have been very wonderful, they're great. Right now, with the way things are with COVID, everything is really hung up. I guess it's hard for me to rate, because I can't go in there, I can't see how it gets going. The place could have been a little cleaner when we first moved him in, but other than that they've been great. There's not much activity right now but TV night and bingo, I think.

I liked Avalon Assisted Living & Memory Care Community pretty well. It was nicer than I expected, and it's set back off the road which gives you a nice feeling, although I don't think there are any actual grocery stores that are very close that you could walk to from Avalon. There's one down the road you can drive to, but not walk to easily. They took a lot of trouble to make sure I was shown everything they had which I thought was nice. They have housekeeping and meals, and they give care there.

I went to The Avalon, which I liked, but I was never able to reach the person I needed to talk to for two months, so I'm very disappointed in as far as them getting back to me. I even sent emails and got no answer. I still like The Avalon better than another facility for my friend. I really like the staff, and it was not as plush as other facilities because it is for people with lower income. It included those with memory problems and those who couldn't be independent. There were three meals a day. I saw areas with lots of trees. The rooms were all very nice ad had choices of one or two bedrooms. They had a smaller kitchen that wasn't fancy and little gardens for people to grow vegetables. I liked that the community was more natural and not plush.

The woman who showed me around Avalon was very nice and friendly. I was looking at the memory care. and it’s separate from the other building. There just didn’t seem to be a lot of activities, and that was my main concern about that place. I didn’t see many residents around, and the sense of community wasn’t happening to me.

At Avalon, there are lots of trees and garden there. They did allow smoking on the property. It is a smaller place, but I guess the biggest thing was the outside atmosphere. You could sit on tables and there are places to be outside in gardens. It seems like a country atmosphere, but it is in the city.

It wasn’t good at Avalon Assisted Living. They did not know how to deal with my husband. They had a lot of problems with him being aggressive, and I think it was because they were pushing him too much to do things the way they wanted him to. Also their people sat around all evening and watched TV instead of doing anything with the residents. It was not good, but food was excellent.

I took a tour at Avalon Assisted Living. I feel the place is OK, but my general feeling was a little bit less. The staff was good. Overall, it seemed like a nice and friendly place.

Mom has alzheimers and is in need of constant care. The staff is attentive and geunuine in their concern for keeping her as involved and active as she can be. The facility is clean and well kept and everybody there treats me as family. I would highly recommend Avalon.

We found a great fit for our father at Avalon. The staff is attentive and genuine in his care. I like the recent work done to the facility and have been told there is more updates to come. The place is clean and well kept with a fresh smell to it. We did a lot of homework before deciding to place dad there and I feel it was the best choice. I would recommend Avalon

The thing that impressed me most about the Avalon Assisted Living Community was the diversity of the staff and the residents. It is a good fit for my mother in terms of the facility itself and they have the resources that we need.

My love one has been at Avalon for a couple of years. We chose this facility because we liked it. The community it self is beautiful. They treat him very well. All the staff is very caring. Their care focuses on the safety and well-being of the residents, 24-hours a day. A good place to recommend.

The management staff at this facility was constantly in a state of flux. This caused low staff moral which was then transferred into sub standard care in some circumstances. The living situation was a homelike atmosphere where my mom felt comfortable and cared for.I think I was the person who felt the most uncomfortable with the care she was getting although I am not sure that I would not have felt that way wherever she was. The space was adequate and the facility was clean although the residents were not all that well taken care of in terms of cleanliness and suitability of housemates. Mom was in a situation with people that needed a high level of attention and thus was neglected at times.Twice she was thrown from her wheelchair by resident who tried to move her with the brakes still on - one of those falls resulted in a hospitalization. There were not many activities available for her and although she was limited physically her mental status was pretty intact and did not receive much stimulus other than sitting in front of a television. Mom loved to talk to people and I think it would have taken very little effort for someone to talk with her and to her.The overall idea of a communal living situation was a good one but it was not well administered. Staff were underpaid and under trained but did the best they could with the little support they were given by management.
