What an amazing place m, the second I walked in I felt maybe a bit overwhelmed. But the director was so helpful and mad me and and family feel at ease. They are all very thoughtful and detailed orientated, it’s clear to see that they respect there job and residents and not just there for a pay check. This facility is Amazing I. Really hope others are able to check it out and get the quality care for there loved ones

I was really impressed with Prairie Home Assisted Living-House of Joy. I like the director there a lot. Everybody has their own room, every room has a window, and every room has a bathroom. It seemed to be like more of an individualized care program instead of just a standardized one. They treated each person as an individual, and I heard laughter when I was there, which is good. The rooms were small, but they were clean, and everybody got their own bathroom with the toilet. The facility itself was clean and orderly. Everybody was very polite, they were nice, and I got attention right away. I went to where they ate and it was nice.

Prairie Home Assisted Living- House of Joy was comfortable and a little rundown. The rooms were basic and minimal. The furnishings were provided, but everything was well used. The person who toured me was the owner, and he was very knowledgeable and available. My daughter and I saw the place first and then I brought my father back to it. The gentleman that we talked to at first was not onsite, but he came back to talk to us before he went on vacation to Michigan, so they were doing their best. The dining area seemed homey, but again kind of cluttered and well used.

Awesome care and love of my Gramps. Daily activities and wonderful meals. Loving staff who go extra mile to make resident not like a resident but family. Rooms are clean and just like a room from home.

Prairie Home Assisted Living House of Joy was nice, and people were welcoming. It had a very nice dining area and community gathering area. They had a salon and the rooms were roomy. We saw people in the library reading and some on computers.

We've placed my mom in Prairie Home. We chose it because it was smaller, and my sister wanted it. They have something going on everyday for her, and they have 3 meals a day. They have memory care, and they were willing to deal with the memory issues that we have, so it's good. The staff was very responsive, and the family gets input into the care plan. I think the place is very pretty, and they have all the living rooms and gathering places so it doesn't look too institutional.

I liked Prairie Home a lot. It's very impressive. They have bingo, cards, visiting entertainment, and go on outings. They have excellent care, a homey atmosphere tht's not sterile like a hospital. The food is homemade and very good. The staff is excellent, friendly, and courteous.

Prairie Home Assisted Living doesn't schedule tours but encourages visitors to drop by anytime to see how the facility is run on a daily basis. They are that confident of the services and care provided to their Residents. Walking in to the place you can immediately see that it is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. Prairie Home has Caregivers who are CNA or CBRF certified. They have a response rate of less than a minute when a Resident asks for assistance. They provide medication administration and assistance with all daily cares for their Residents and have state of the art safety features all through the facility. Prairie Home has a full time Activity Director who has planned events taking place daily in all three buildings. Residents can join in activities in any of the buildings and sometimes there are as many as 30+ people enjoying Penny Bingo at one time. Residents often go on field trips together with staff and holidays are always celebrated with style. This place is family owned and operated and I have seen staff and management go out of their way to make sure everything is done correctly for the Residents they serve.

I liked Prairie Home. It is just too small for him. They have a nice room, lobby, and hallway. I don't know if there is enough going on. I didn't see a lot of social activity going on when I was there. People were confined to their room. I guess I just got in the wrong time when everybody was in their room. They have three separate buildings and about 16 residents in each building. They should interact more with the people. Instead of them all staying in their room, they should have more activities to encourage participation. At the time, it’s the nicest place I could find, and it was right next to my apartment building. It's a pleasant place, but there's not a lot of interaction.

Prairie Home Assisted Living is fine. I had no problems with it until the very end when they accused me of stealing which I never did. They went through my stuff. Otherwise it was a good place. They had floor exercises, card and board games and bingo. They had different games on other days. They give away prizes.
