There was nothing that I didn't like about HeatherWood Assisted Living & Memory Care. They have a restaurant club where they either go out to eat occasionally or have food brought in, entertainment, and they do a lot of craft work. They sent a plate of homemade cookies home after our tour and explained how you can pay money down, how you can get on a waitlist, the different levels of care when you enter, and what they recommend. They were just very informative. My next-door neighbor had a stroke and she's there now, so I visit her once in a while, and she settled in easily and said the food is wonderful. I've been to some of their events as a guest and it's just nice as well. The facility was kind of L-shaped so depending on the sun, you had a choice of sitting in the shade at different times of the day. They also have a beauty shop and apparently, they owned a little bit of property right next to that patio and they had someone gardening there. They gave some of the produce to the facility so there was fresh vegetables and stuff that they cooked in their kitchen. I thought that was pretty good.

I liked HeatherWood Assisted Living & Memory Care the best of all the places I went to. I just thought everything was so nice, clean, and bright, and it didn't feel like I was in a nursing home environment. The food looked good, it was nice, they had a patio area that overlooked a dog park and a garden area. All the people there looked so happy. The only downside was they had limited memory care, so there was a long wait to get in there which could be a problem for people if they want to move. I think there are only 8 beds for memory care

I initially wanted HeatherWood Assisted Living & Memory Care because I love that place, but my mother couldn't go there because it was registered as an RCAC. (It needed to be registered as a CBRF.) It does have a CBRF wing but that was full, so I couldn't go in there, and that really discouraged me. Nevertheless, I love everything about it. It has a beautiful garden, and it is a small, homey, down-to-earth, family-type deal. It's very good, and it's my number-one choice. Price-wise, it's much better than others, plus they promise to never go up in price in your lifetime, which is unbelievable.

We have moved into HeatherWood. It has been very positive. We like the apartments and the place itself is attractive. The people have been very nice to us. We are happy. I'm in the independent living and my wife is in level 2. We've been here for two weeks now. The food is good, a nice variety. At lunch, they have a very good salad bar as well. They have daily exercise, and they have a chapel on Wednesday. They have a variety of activities in the afternoon usually at least one every day from a trip to Walmart to celebrating a birthday to bringing a dog in for a visit. We are new to this but we are enjoying the activities and the additional interaction of people that they provide.

My mother moved to HeatherWood assisted living. I have had no problem with the place, they have been great. Her apartment is all she needs, and their food is very good. In terms of amenities they've got everything and she doesn't need a thing there. They also take her to doctors' appointments.

I like HeatherWood, and my mother and aunt have been residents there. The place was really nice, and they also have a memory unit now. The rooms are very clean and I find the people to be very nice and friendly. They have church services which impressed my family. Their food was very good; if you request a meal their cook would actually try to cook the menu item that you like for the whole group once in a while. They also have activities, they take their people on outings and shopping trips, they go to the theater, and they do a lot. They have community days and it very nice. It's a very pretty place, the rooms on the first floor were lovely and very well-decorated. They decorate during holidays like Christmas, and the flowers on the grounds were lovely. It's well taken care of and very tasteful, and it makes me happy because it doesn't have quite as many residents as some of the other places. They also let you bring little pets in to visit, which makes people happy. They also have an activities director. It wasn't really more expensive than any other place, and my aunt had quite a big apartment, so the value is there.

We visited HeatherWood. We were impressed with the person we were with and were impressed with the situation there. It looked like a friendly, open area. We enjoyed the openness and the camaraderie that was taking place. There were tables of people just visiting and having coffee. It looked like a very comfortable atmosphere. The facility was very nice.

Heatherwood was very nice and very caring. The thing that sets them apart from other places is the rooms were small suites, so there was actually a little bedroom. it was a very small efficiency apartment with a bedroom and bathroom. So that was pretty nice. The apartment was about 500 sq/ft with unique concept. The staff is good. They had a lot of activities. They got memory care and assisted living, so they have combination for some activities, which was good.

HeatherWood was OK. The rooms were small but rather nice. The food and cook were good, but we can't afford it. The staff was very friendly during the tour.

I was very impressed with HeatherWood, and Jerry, the manager, followed up with reasonable rates. They have the regular apartments that can move to memory care. The rooms were very clean, which is important to me because if they're not taking care of that, they're probably not taking care of the people, either. I didn't see a lot of movement or activity when I was there. I didn't see anything wrong.

Thank you Steve for your kind words and taking the time to post your review. We take great care in not only the physical environment, but also our residents--as you keenly observed that housekeeping is just one area that is important in caring for others. Please feel free to let us know if there is anything else we can be of assistance with. Thank you again!

I found this facility really nice. My grandparents were adjusting to moving from Florida and were not happy to go there but ended up liking it. The staff made them feel comfortable and respected. They enjoyed their apartment and were able to watch game show network. My grandmother did not really like the kitchen, she found it hard to cook in. The bed rooms were nice and had enough space. Mostly my grandparents like the social aspects there. There are events thrown by staff, like bingo and other social activities. My grandparents were able to make friends and play cards. My grandmother loved that they had a weekly way to get her hair done. As their family it was reassuring that they had house keeping available so that they were able to enjoy their golden years. It is also reassuring to know that they have twenty four hour a day assistance if they need it.
