Avamere at Englewood Heights is a nice place. It's clean. They're nice people. My dad's room is nice. The only complaint I have is that they're a little understaffed, which is a lot of places, so it takes a little bit longer to get the care of the residents quickly. I went there at lunchtime, and they had barbecue and stuff. So far, the food seems great. My dad likes it. My dad doesn't involve himself in too many activities, but they have them every day down to having music and games. They have something going on every day, and they post it in and outside the elevators. They have a salon there for them. They have a manicure-pedicure girl who comes in for them. There are little nice things going on for them. The dining area is nice. They're under renovation with the kitchen right now, so it is a little bit chaotic, but it is a nice dining area. It's large. It's a beautiful place. However, the staff always seem confused about everything, and it has been hard to communicate with them. If everybody was on the same page, it would be great, but it seems like there are too many people telling people what to do. With regards to value for money, I think they're all high. It's so expensive, but it's expensive no matter where you go.

Avamere at Englewood Heights was more of an older facility. It wasn't quite as new, but the layout was really good. It was medium-sized facility. The room was nice and a little bit more comfortable. The staff was really good, too. They had a recreation area where they could play pool, ping pong, or have a conversation. They had a section (it wasn't a huge section) that had a TV area, where people could watch TV, a movie, or play card games. They also had two small buses that they use to provide transportation for them.

Had a great tour, everyone was very nice and helpful. The restaurant is as nice as any in town and the food was great. we looked at a couple different rooms and were surprised at how big they are. Price is inline with the other places we saw. Loved the gardens. I would recommend Englewood Heights to everyone.

I am not happy with Brookdale Englewood Heights. I dont like their housekeeping and med nurses. The checks for April and May were both deposited the same day in my bank, and they sent me a note saying I was late, and I don't like that. The staff needs to be taught that they can't talk in front of people like they're dead. The food is good, and my mom's apartment is fine. I'm paying a little over $10,000 a month and that's crazy. It's worth nothing.

Brookdale Englewood was number 1. I thought it was wonderful. They were kind, clean, and very nice. They showed me the rooms. They looked like an apartment. You could get a one-bedroom or a studio unit.

Brookdale Englewood Heights was very pleasant and very nice. All of the employees were aware that I was there but did not care to bug me, so I was able to sit with the person who screened people. I sat with people who already lived there and talked about life in general. It was very nice. The room they showed did not have enough closet space, but it had two windows. I had lunch there, and the food was fine.

The staff at Englewood Heights was very gracious with my grandmother's specific needs. Whenever she required assistance, there was staff on duty willing to provide it. Care was given at all times of the day, no matter how late at night. The staff was eager to help, and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. The food at Englewood Heights was delicious. I would go most Sundays for lunch with my Dad and sisters. In addition to the food, there were opportunities for entertainment, with the piano, movie showings, and pool table they had on-site. The accommodations were more than necessary, and provided my grandmother with an enjoyable last few years on this earth. Without the helpful, willing staff at Englewood Heights, my grandmother would not have had as good of a transition to the afterlife. I would recommend this assisted living home to anyone looking for a place to grow old in life.

My grandma was moved here last year at the age of 95. She has been there 8 months and I have visited here there 3 times. The staff seemed to genuinely care for the patients and did what they could to keep them comfortable. They seemed knowledgeable and kind. The facility itself was very nice and my grandma seemed to enjoy it (as much as one can enjoy being such a place). The food didn't smell that great but for obvious reasons I did not try any. While I have not visited any other assisted living facilities so I have no basis for comparison, Englewood Heights facility seems to be above par and a very caring, supportive place for my 96 year old grandma. My grandma's favorite nurse is Kelly (I believe that is what her name was?) but has said that she has yet to encounter an unpleasant worker. Overall, I would recommend this facility to friends looking for facilities for their elderly relatives.

Very clean facility! Excellent quality of care! Years of experience in the community. The most wonderful nursing home in Yakima. My friend received excellent care and the facility was always clean and the staff was caring. Very diverse, which is great. You can meet many different people.
