We went to Avista Yakima. They looked like they're a pretty active community. The few residents we saw were playing games. I did talk to a gal outside who was a resident there, and she said she enjoyed it. They cannot do any memory care there, so that was probably going to be a stickler for us because my mom is starting to show more signs of dementia, and the whole point is we wanted to keep mom and dad together. She would have to leave there eventually if she needed more memory care and they're the ones who determine that. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. The room looked fine. It was small. We were looking specifically for a one-bedroom, not a studio, and it seems to me the room I saw was just a studio. I don't think we're able to see a one-bedroom. It wasn't going to work for our needs, so we just kind of ended things at that point. What we saw seemed fine. The people there liked it. We didn't spend much time there because once we realized it wasn't going to be an option, we didn't stay longer. We just showed up. We did not schedule a tour. There was parking and it looked clean. The dining area was right when you walked in, but it was not a mealtime, so nobody was eating in there. They were still cleaning it up. It had tables and chairs.

It was a very nice place. It was clean, and the staff was very nice. I was kind of interested in the place. The atmosphere was awesome. They had a really nice setup in their activities. They showed me the rooms, and they were also really nice.

We went here. The experience was really good. One of the staff that took care of it and a couple of nurses were extremely friendly and helpful. They explained things to us. It was very nice. The facility was extremely clean. People all seemed to be in a pretty good mood for the most part. The rooms were pretty standard. They were handicap accessible for walkers and wheelchairs. I had seen some older places that weren't well set up, but this place looked nice. We looked at the menu and it looked good. The residents were playing bingo when we were there. They had a schedule up. They had Bible study and church services planned on Tuesday and Sunday. They had a trip to Walmart planned for folks. There was other stuff going on but it was right after Thanksgiving, so they were getting ready for Christmas decorating and stuff, so they had fun stuff to do. Everyone was pleasant.

It was the one we chose had my mother not found a way to go back home. That was a very nice facility with activities. It was all one-story. They had nice rooms. They had things like bingo and card games. They had a lake with ducks and things that they could watch. They could walk outside to breathe the fresh air. It was very desirable.
