Brookdale Yakima was a nice facility, but it was just a little too large for mom. It was new. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was very well laid out. They had reading rooms, a theater room, and a lot of amenities for the residents. They provide transportation to appointments and activities. There was a library, a community area to watch movies, a little kitchen where they could make popcorn, and areas for family gatherings. The dining area was nice, too.

Brookdale Yakima looked like a good place. I wouldn't have a problem putting mom in there except they're a little bit expensive. Other than that, I didn't see any problems with it at all. The staff during the tour showed me everything I needed to see. The rooms I saw were great. If I would have put her there, it was a smaller room and it would have been perfect for her. It just didn't work out. I saw the common room where there was a bunch of people hanging out and it looked fine. I think they were a little too expensive. It's nice and clean.

Brookdale Yakima (Formerly Wynwood of Yakima) was excellent, very clean, and well lit. It had accommodations for people with disability or with difficulty walking. It had nice wide hallways. The staff was friendly. They had a bus taking people shopping, etc. They had all kinds of activities there.

My dad is a resident of Wynwood. We choose it because everyone says it is a good place to go and it is about a mile or a mile and a half from his wife's home so it is very convenient. The people are relatively friendly. However, they are understaffed. My dad has difficulty walking and they are supposed to walk him up and down the hall every day to strengthen his muscles. But that did happened it was his wife who was the one who ended up walking him up the hallway. They are also not doing his laundry. She has to take his laundry home and the sheets are not being change every week. The carpet was also dirty when we were there a month ago. Considering that she's paying quite a bit of money for his stay there, the people ought to be doing what they are supposed to do.

We walked in at Wynwood and it felt right. It was very welcoming. We knew that it was a good place to have my grandma. It was a 1-bedroom but it was a great size; it was facing over the yard. She would have been very comfortable. We didn't eat but we did go in when they were serving a meal and it looked appetizing. The people were caring, great and easy to work with. They were very helpful and willing to answer any questions we had and very considerate of us as a family. The director was very helpful, took a lot of time with us and explained the process. He had a lot of good information. It was a good experience. We were all ready to move Grandma in Wynwood but she ended up in the hospital and passed away last Thursday.

We chose to have Wynwood of Yakima for my dad who has Alzheimer's. He's been in Wynwood for a month now, and as what I am seeing every time I visit him, I must say he's looking good and well taken cared by all the loving and caring staff. He's happy being in the place and he's telling me stories that he already gained friends, and we are really happy about that. I remember my dad has mentioned on many occasions how happy he is at Wynwood and he feels it's the perfect place for him. He is eating well, making friends, and we are able to enjoy weekend afternoons out for a ride without the stress of worrying about who will watch out for him when we're not there. The staff is really caring and I'm really thankful for all of them.

The home had a very pleasant entrance that made you feel at home and at ease. The rooms were very basic, but nice. When I say basic I mean they have what a person will need and not overly fancy. They had small kitchenettes, bathroom and some with an open living/sleeping area and other a seperate sleeping room. There was staff 24 hrs a day and nurses on hand if needed. They also provided other services if needed such as portable EKGs and xrays from NW Mobile where they come to you and the resident doesn't need to leave the facility. All in all it was a nice home and in a nice are and they provided things to do and places to go with stores and parks close by.
