We moved our mother from another assisted living facility to Avamere of Wenatchee. She is so happy! She is delighted with the food especially! She says the people seem happier so she is happier!! She also was pleased with the first haircut she got. That is something that is important to her.

We toured Avamere at Wenatchee. It was a really nice place. We met one man, he toured us around, and he was OK. He was very informative and he told us everything. The dining area was big and looked like a really nice dining area.

I toured Avamere at Wenatchee. It had lots of amenities. It was very clean and the staff was super nice. The one that I looked at was really nice. It had high ceilings, so it felt really spacious. Kevin, the gentleman that showed me around, is very knowledgeable. He introduced me to a lady that takes care of planning all the activities. Sounds like they have quite a bunch of different activities they can do. They can take them on excursions.

The people in Avamere at Wenatchee were really nice. We couldn't go inside because of COVID so we just walked around the grounds. We didn't really get to see the inside or anything, but it was really nice. We got to look at the rooms through the window. It was on the first floor and they were kinda like a bungalow type. They came right out onto the grass area and there was like a patio. They looked really nice. My first impression was I felt like my mother-in-law wouldn't be safe there because it was real open-like. You could just walk right out into the area. It's real pretty, it was up against the mountains, and it's in a gorgeous area where they had it, but not to our liking. It looked like the apartments were really kept up. It's really nice to have a little patio and stuff. The lady that showed us around was really pleasant and very nice. She took a lot of time with us to show us everything. The facility was topnotch.

Avamere at Wenatchee was a very delightful place. My father has a childhood friend living there who feels like he's died and gone to heaven. We're looking at the possibility of him moving in there. They offer transportation. We went there for lunch and my father had been there before for lunch to meet with his friends and the food was really good. All I had was just a salad from a salad bar and it was good. They have different levels, and they've got activities all the time. The staff was excellent. It's a very beautiful facility.

Columbia Heights was absolutely beautiful. The apartments were nice. They had a lot of interaction going on between the residents. They offered a lot of different services such as a hair salon and a library. The person that assisted me was very helpful. She gave me a tour of the facility, and she explained a lot about what was available. I was very impressed. I had chosen this place for my mother-in-law until her medical team said that she needed to be in a place that would offer her 24-hour care.

We were happy with Columbia Heights as that’s what mom needed. They have good nursing care and three meals a day and that’s what we are looking for. One of the reason we chose the place is they were able to get her on Medicaid a lot quicker than the other places that I called. Most places want you to be there one to two years on personal finances before they will consider you for Medicaid, and we were able to get her on the Medicaid within four months. We had no problems at all with them, and we’re very pleased. They occasionally have dinner nights, there’s a casino about an hour away, and they go there once a month and other activities in the place. She really likes the breakfast, but lunch and dinner she only likes occasionally, but all the people have the tendency to be critical as to what they meals they want. She participates in all the activities they had.

Columbia Heights was very nice. It seemed a little older, smaller, and a little more rundown, but it was due to its age. The facility was very nice, and the apartments were well maintained, but some of the facilities just needed more updating. The people were very kind and welcoming. We weren’t able to stay for lunch, but the chef packed us three lunches to go. My father in law was very impressed with that, and the food was very good.

Columbia Heights was more uppity. I feel there was more emphasis put on how good the place looks than about getting down to the bottom line with care. I didn’t see much there, so I couldn’t really comment on the caregiving. It was nice, new, and fancy. I just think it’s a little too fancy.

I visited Columbia Heights since I had some recommendations from other people. I called them several times and they responded several times. I visited the place with my stepmother and had lunch there. This facility looks like it is professionally run. It is clean and exceptionally nice. The food was great. All the people are trying to be helpful.
