My dad is already placed at A Home with Hope II. So far, those men are absolutely wonderful. They're very caring. I have nothing but good things, so I'm so thankful I found it. It's not like the assisted living places he had been in in the past. They take better care of him here. I like the way the men talk to my dad. It's very gentle and caring, and they look at him in the face when they're talking to him. When they're helping him get up, they're very gentle with him, and they talk to him about what's going to happen. They're just very caring men. Except for the lifting part that I couldn't do, they took care of him almost as good as I could. The house itself is a nice little house. It's open space. What I do like about it is they have alarms on the beds for when the residents get out of the beds or move on the beds. They have alarms for them they can push to call them in. They check on my dad every few minutes. Someone goes by and sees if he's OK, and that he is not trying to get up on his own. I've talked to several of the other residents there, and they're all content to be there. I just love the way they treat my dad. They treat him like he's their own grandparents. I always ask my dad how's his dinner, and he always tell me it's very good. With regards to activities, I know they play checkers. It's a pretty small place. Two of the people that are there pretty much stay in their rooms. The other three are all out in the living room. They have this little high school girl from Columbia River that comes in on her own. She's not paid, she is a volunteer. She comes in several times a week, and she just sits and talks with them, just carries on conversations. She plays checkers with my dad, she plays cards with him, and she goes fishing with him. And when the staff is not busy doing other things, he brings a little tray table on and puts the checkerboard down, and just, "Ok, it's your turn, this is how you do it," and my dad loves to do it.
