My mom and stepdad stayed at Merrill Gardens at Tacoma. It was a great location. It's a beautiful facility. They were very good during the pandemic. Everybody was very friendly. The food there is wonderful. My stepdad raved about the food. It was top-notch food. They had lots of activities. They had a piano, a library, and shuttle buses. They like everything about it. They had as close to a full kitchen as you could have. As my stepdad got sicker, they were very attentive. They were able to get their meals delivered, so they were accommodating. The facility was very well laid out. All the activities were on one main floor, so you didn't have to go looking around for everything. They had poker nights, movie nights, people coming in to play the piano, happy hour, and crafts. I think people did a lot of extra stuff for them that they didn't get charged for.

I toured Merrill Gardens at Tacoma. They are very nice. The one main thing that was missing in a lot of them when I toured, and that goes for both Washington and California, is the unit for a laundry facility for a washer/dryer. Merrill Gardens did have units. They are one of the few. It looks very appealing. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions. They have meals. It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

My parents are slowly moving out of Merrill Gardens at Tacoma, so I was there last night. The independent living cottages are beautiful and spacious and like a home. It's more like you have your own house. I never was in an apartment, but my parents chose not to move into the assisted living apartments because they said that they were too small. They also said that the people were ruder. The employees were not as nice and friendly. My parents were independent. The facilities are beautiful, but with the maintenance, you could not get anything maintained. Like I ended up fixing their shower myself because they couldn't get it fixed and the shower is pretty important. For independent care, as you age, it didn't accommodate for that. My parents are physically capable in a lot of ways, but getting in and out of the shower was difficult for them, and there was a huge step to the front door and there was a big couple of steps from the deck, which is just not good for elderly people. You have to be a very healthy, independent to live there. Their food was great, so we loved the food. They had a fitness room and I think my parents were allowed to go there to work out. They had a movie night and that was about it. Independent living didn't offer you many things because you are independent, but they lacked more social activities.

The staff at Merrill Gardens at Tacoma was very friendly. I checked the menu and It looked very balanced in that they provided good nutrition. We were not able to tour the facility itself due to the Covid times, so that was limited. It had a very noisy street that it was on, so my sister did not like the noise of traffic. The lobby was nice, but we didn't go into any of the other buildings. The place was more of an apartment than it was a home.

Merrill Gardens at Tacoma was beautiful. They were a little sloppy with the money; one person told us one thing, and then, another person told us another thing. For what they offered, their price was reasonable. It was a very nice place.

Merrill Gardens at Tacoma was a very nice looking facility, but we didn’t choose it because it was so big. My parents-in-law moved from a much smaller area in Minnesota, and we wanted to find something similar to that in size; that just felt a too big for them to navigate and get adjusted to at their age because they are 97 and 95. It was a very nice woman who gave us the tour, and we were impressed with her and her presentation. It just didn’t feel like a fit for them.

I was impressed with Merrill Gardens at Tacoma. It seemed like a very nice and well-run community. We saw the rooms, specifically in the memory unit where my father would be confined. The rooms were clean but small, and you get to decorate them with your own furniture. In fact, they were very nice and certainly will make them feel at home. It appeared to me that the residents were very happy.

We visited Merrill Gardens. The location wasn’t as convenient for us. We weren’t ready to make a decision at that time since we didn’t think it suited our needs. The people were accommodating and agreeable. The facility looked adequate. The community and some of the cottages were new, and some of the cottages were still being constructed. They had a continuing care program. By observation, everything seemed to be lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to give it a good rating of 5.

I liked Merrill Gardens at Tacoma, but it was too expensive for me. It’s a very attractive and impressive facility. I know a couple of people who live there, and it has a good reputation. Everyone that I encountered seemed pleasant. The woman who took us around was the main person. There was an incidental exchange of greetings with some of the other people but not much.

We really liked Merrill Gardens at Tacoma. It had very nice, neat gardens and beautiful landscaping. The cottages were really well kept, and the main lodge was beautiful. We really liked that area. It was perfect for us because we were looking for independent for the first few years, and then later move on to assisted living. The cottage was very nice, exactly what we were looking for, at 1,400 square feet with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage. It really hit the spot with that one. They had an exercise room, a game room, and a very nice restaurant open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and you can go in anytime and order anything you want. We dealt with two people who were very nice. I would recommend it to anyone. The price was good, and the location was in the really nice part of Tacoma and close to a lot of things, like grocery stores, restaurants, fast-food restaurants, and lots of places were really close within walking distance.

The memory care wing at Merrill Gardens at Tacoma was in a separate, locked facility. If you need memory care, then you have to move into that wing. The memory care wing was very nice and didn't seem like a prison at all.

Merill Gardens is very nice, clean, and I really liked it. The staff is very nice. The only problem is they don't have vacancy. They have a waiting list, and the price is a lot more than everybody else. It's very nice and very quiet but lively. The people there are all happy. Their dining area is nice. They serve three meals, and you can eat anytime. The rooms are very nice because they are so expensive.

I am in Merrill Gardens at Tacoma. It is a lovely, very nice building with friendly and helpful people. The food is very good. I will certainly recommend it. My only drawback is that when my son brought me here, I asked them about the carpet because somebody has lived here before, and I asked them to clean it. They said they would either replace or clean it, but I do not think they did either one. I am very unhappy about that.

My mom is on a waiting list at Merrill Gardens at Tacoma. It’s a newer facility and had a chef instead of institutional food. The people were friendly. It’s big, clean, beautiful, and awesome, and had a lot of activities.

It was very clean, and the curb appeal was beautiful. The people that we came in contact with were very courteous and helpful. We went and visited one of the cottages, and the gentleman that lived there was very helpful. It was very nice and large. We went to one of the apartments there also. The dining facility was beautiful. Merrill Gardens at Tacoma was the one that we liked the most out of all that we saw.

It was very nice. The people were helpful and friendly, but the rooms were very small. I looked at different places that had cottages, which I was not interested in. I have some friends living there, and they're very happy there. I tasted their food, and it was very good. Merrill Gardens at Tacoma was attractive and comfortable.

Merrill Gardens was the best well-kept place and closest to my home. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good, and most of the residents were busy especially those who are able.

Merrill Gardens at Tacoma is just perfect for my husband's cousin, and it is just very nice. They have very good food, and he's got a bachelor apartment. I just figure it is a very happy place. I would recommend this place. In fact, my sister has moved in there. It is very clean, and the first floor is like a hotel; it is beautiful.

Merrill Gardens was very popular and nice facility. It was very clean and the quality of their food was really good. They had a lot of activities for the residents. They had music entertainment every Friday and had happy hour for the people there. Their hospitality to their guests was way up there. However, it would be too big for my friend and didn't attract my friend that much. They also had different floors and they would have to find a floor where she wouldn't have to go up and down. My friend also had a second fall that did more damage in her brain and Merrill Gardens came to see her, but they said she needed more intense help that they could offer. They were more of an independent living and she needed a 24-hour care.

Merill Gardens is a phenomenal facility and it is sparkling clean. The have beautiful rooms. I was ready to move in there to one of their studio apartments. They were building a brand new memory care facility which I looked at and I even picked out an apartment there and then they told me how much it's going to cost to move in, $20,000 which was the first month's rent and the buy-in but that was way beyond my means.
