I went to Brookdale Allenmore (South Union Avenue) and I'm moving there. I like the feel of the place. It was friendly, and they were generous enough to offer me lunch. I toured the apartments, and although they're small, I think I can make it work. The staff member was very professional, friendly, and he answered all my questions. He gave me a folder that showed the activity schedules and floor plans. They have a beauty parlor, but they don't have anybody working there right now. They're looking to hire somebody. I like the fact that the apartment that I'm interested in is getting new carpet and flooring. They're pet friendly.

I didn't care for Brookdale Allenmore. It was kind of dated as far as decor and it wasn't particularly clean. The apartment was OK, but it was just dated and dingy. I would not have gone there. They need to remodel the place. It was way too big, too. They had a library, a salon, and they had smaller places to go eat aside from the dining room. I saw an activities calendar, but I didn't see any activities going on. They had bingo, puzzles, word games, and holiday-themed stuff on their calendar.

I think this facility is in the running. A number of rooms to choose from, studio with a couple of different floor plans and 1 bedroom places with Private decks or yards. Has everything one would need. The dining room is very nice and the menu changes daily, although they do serve favorites every day. The units have kitchens so if you wanted you could cook your own meal. The food is so good and such a wide choice you don't need to cook at all. They have exercise room and laundry rooms. Transportation to and from Doctor appointments as well as planned outings to Costco, shopping, casinos and more. Game rooms. Puzzle rooms, cards, library with regular print and large print books! The staff is exceptional. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Check it out you won't be sorry. Shopping center with lots of stores right across the street. Hospital and doctor offices also right across the street. Perfect.

Brookdale Allenmore was very, very nice. We liked it. We were treated very nicely when we got there. The young lady that showed us around was very knowledgeable, straightforward, and told us everything we needed to know. The room we saw was kind of small, but that's to be expected. Plus it's well-equipped and it's got a nice kitchen. So, it would be adequate for our needs. They have everything anybody would need there, from nurses to exercises and we were very pleased with that. The facilities were very nice and well-kept.

My mom is a resident. She has been there for less than one year. Overall, her experience is OK. She does not live a big life, so the bingo and happy hour have her pretty busy. but her rent was just increased $375 per month. The is 15% in less than a year. I am angry because it's money she does not have. When the local staff tells us, "This comes from corporate." but the letter is signed by the local staff, and corporate does not acknowledge me. The proxy show that CEO makes $6M to $7M per year, with a lot based on targets, while the local staff make so little. A 5% per year increase would be a lot. 15%? On a fixed income. I know costs have gone up, but 15% is not OK.

Brookdale Allenmore was a great place, but it was too expensive. My mother loved it. The rooms were perfect. Everything was good. The staff was very nice and very polite. They have full appliances inside the rooms, like a refrigerator and dishwasher. They have a courtyard and a community room. The dining area was more like a restaurant.

The tour at Brookdale Allenmore was very good, the people were friendly and helpful. The rooms were small and there was no exercise facility. The rooms weren't furnished and the square footage was pretty small for each apartment. The dining area looked nice and people seemed to be comfortable there. The place was well kept up, and the staff was nice and helpful.

I'm living in Brookdale Allenmore. I moved in the first part of November. It's very good, but right now, the dining room is shut down for two weeks, and that's not so good. They have an assisted living place next door, but they're too restrictive. Here in independent living, you got more freedom. I have a big kitchen and stove, and you just rent a room and buy your own groceries and not go to the dining room if you choose to. They have an exercise program that's not too extreme, just a little bit, and it's pretty good. I don't like not eating in the dining room, but I guess that's the governor's problem. The staff is very good, and the office is very good and very helpful, too. They got washing machines down the hall. It's good, but you walk quite a ways to the elevator; you need to exercise anyway. They charge me quite a bit for moving in, but I guess that's normal. Food is good, but they give you too much of everything. We have activities at 10 a.m. every morning except Sunday, but it's just light exercise and it's good. I do my own exercise; I exercise in my room every morning. They have jigsaw puzzles, but I'm not interested in that, and we have TV in the room. There is a lounge where you can sit around, and before you get to meals, you can sit there and talk with other people. My room isn't perfect. I don't have lights in my bedroom, and I gotta fix that. Otherwise, it's pretty good if you want a big kitchen and a big room, and two people could live here. There are two elevators and they're perfect. The place is four stories. You very seldom wait for more than a minute for an elevator.

I like Brookdale Allenmore a little better than the other places because the dining room was smaller and more intimate. The one-bedroom had a really big bedroom, a nice kitchen, and a nice view. The residents seemed very friendly. It's near a bus station. The staff member during the tour was wonderful, and their cook was really good. The food was wonderful. They had a little varied menu, and the service was faster because it's a smaller place. They had the ability to transfer you to another place if you need more services like assisted living.

Brookdale is a very nice community with lots of amenities and services. The rooms are nice, and the help is nice too. But its a little more expensive than most places.

Brookdale Allenmore is a very impressive building when you first walk in. I have a friend who lives there, and she's content. They have to stand in line to get their food, and it's so crowded that people who bring their walkers interfere with the people who are serving trying to move around. They have some wonderful things like interesting activities. They have a lot of activities, and they have committees that are in charge of certain things that they do. I have taught a class of painting canvas shoes over there. The food is good.

We are happy with the service of the staff at Brookdale Allenmore. My mom’s room is like a small apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, little kitchen, and living room. The food is not wonderful but adequate. They have bingo, and people come in to play music. They have an activity director, so they have quite a few activities and church services. What I like most about Brookdale Allenmore is that the aides are very nice to my mom, and they take good care of her, and that the whole facility is clean. The dining area is like a cafeteria type with nice tablecloths; it is very nice.

Brookdale Allenmore (Formerly Villas at Union Park) was a wonderful facility. The people there were just absolutely great, but it's just way too expensive for us. They had wonderful amenities. The dining room looked great, but we didn't try any of the food. The activities were great. The apartments were clean. Other than the cost, it's a great thing. The location was wonderful because everything was right there. You can just walk across the street and go to the store, go to Target or Wal-Mart. The doctors' offices are there and most of the hospitals are neary as well.

The studio rooms at the Villas at Union Park were too small, as well as their dining room. As soon as I saw the room and saw it was small, I wasn't interested anymore. It also looked like to me that the hallways needed to be repainted and it needed some upkeep.

Villas at Union Park was a very nice place and I liked the facility. I thought it was nicely laid out. The staff were very helpful and everytime I went there, a lot of the residents seemed to enjoy it.
