My parents are now at Country Meadows. They are loving it. It's a small community. They've got a cottage feel to it as opposed to an apartment feel. The living spaces are a little bit bigger than some of the other communities that we looked at. The staff members are extremely friendly and very accommodating. They engage with my parents. They know them by name. The food is very, very good. I had a small meal because I went to an event there with my parents when we were investigating, and it was just hors d'oeuvres and finger foods. My parents have been there now for a little over a week. My mom has special dietary needs, but they're very accommodating to that, and my parents are enjoying the food. Everything is great. I don't have a single drawback. Activities have been really good. They have been involved from the get-go. With regards to value for money, it's on the higher end of the spectrum for my parents but with everything that they're getting and being able to have more of a private living space made it worth spending the little bit extra money. Looking at some other places, it was pretty comparable. The expense in general is a shock, but when you find out all the things that you get along with it and then having the extra space and the privacy makes it all come together.

The activities at Country Meadows include movies, trips a couple of times a week, and individual service to and from doctors. We have a lot going on. They provide dinner only, served in the main dining room. We have two chefs, and the food is excellent. It's the perfect place to be, unbelievable, and worth every penny. I am delighted.

We like the cottages at Country Meadows. We like the fact that they are a two-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage and that their one meal a day is very large. They call it The Big Red Barn. But they serve other meals as well, but the one big meal is included. They have a swimming therapy pool also in The Big Red Barn. They have a basement with a lot of activities for all of the residents. They have 43 cottages, and they were all full when we visited. We were initially far out on the waiting list, but the ones ahead of us were not ready to move in yet, so we were contacted and it worked out beautifully. We decided to move in here soon because of the friendliness and outgoing attitude of the people.
