We toured Park Vista by Bonaventure. It was a very nice facility, but very clean. They offered a lot and a lot of activities. They have good staff. It's just the location we didn't want. The gal who gave us the tour was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Park Vista by Bonaventure wasn't quite as an open environment. It was a little more condensed, but it had a little bit more of a homey feel to it. I talked to two people there and both were very professional and helped me understand very well what they were offering. Their room might have been the smallest of the three that I looked at in terms of the size of the room but they were still a fairly decent size.

I toured Park Vista by Bonaventure. I like the size of the rooms. They were very nice, and the entrance was nice. The people were very nice. It had a very nice lobby. It's spacious and open and they had very nice people to greet you. The staff was lovely and very helpful. She showed me several apartments. She invited us to come eat, and we did. The food was marginal, though. The food was not that good, but the facility was very nice. They had exercise programs. They had game rooms. They had an arts/crafts area.

I was impressed with Park Vista by Bonaventure. There were lots of things there for people to do, like exercises, games, sewing and quilting, excursions, and visits to doctors and dentists. There were places to walk and places to sit. It's beautifully wooded around much of the place. They also allowed small pets to live with the residents. The staff member who showed me around was very informative and helpful.

I've chosen Park Vista by Bonaventure. It was very nice and very clean. The apartment was exactly what I need. It's a one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and a walk-in bathtub. They have studios and two bedrooms, but I just have a one-bedroom. The staff is very good. They clean your apartment once a week, do your laundry, and change your sheets. They have happy hour twice a week, an exercise room, and everything I need. They provide two meals a day.

I toured Park Vista by Bonaventure, and it's a very nice facility and it's all-inclusive. The problem I'm having right now is that it's very expensive, but I'm working with an outside group to help me maybe move in there. They have a fantastic plan to work with people throughout the whole system. They have activities every day, which is amazing. You can go from activity to activity. The apartment itself is very, very nice. It has a full kitchen so if you don't want to go eat downstairs, you can eat in your unit, and take care of yourself. It's got a bathroom that is a complete and senior facility. It's a walk-in shower so you don't have to step over a tub. It has safety bars in the bathroom so if you are having problems walking or getting up off the toilet there's a safety bar there. So, they thought that out very, very well. You can do a lot. You can eat all your meals downstairs or you can cook in your unit so that gives you the best of both worlds. They offer three meals a day. The staff was very good. She understands what's going on and they've contacted me twice since I've been there. They have also invited me to one of their parties. The food is very nutritious. The place is so clean and nice, it's unreal.

My husband is at Park Vista by Bonaventure. He is in the memory care area. I think the staff is very caring, kind, and takes really good care of them. It's a beautiful facility. It's very nice when you first walk in. It looks like a big living room with a fireplace. Everything looks really welcoming. His room is pretty spacious. He's got a roommate, but you can hardly even tell because the way they have the room divided and everything, There's lots of privacy, lots of room, and it's very quiet. Everything looks good and smells really good when he's eating. He never really participated in any activities, but I've seen them playing bingo and some things.

Park Vista by Bonaventure offers independent living, and my in-laws are not ready for full-on assistance and still need to have independence, and that is one of the biggest selling points there. Everything looked very well kept. We mainly dealt with the person who handles the tours and the new residents, and she has been wonderful. I'm not sure how old the complex is, but it all looked very new. It is less than a mile from our home, so that is a big selling point, because that will be like less than five minutes from us. The room that my in-laws are moving into is like new, and it also offers more storage for their things than the other places that we had looked at.

Park Vista is a beautiful place and the food is great, I've eaten out there a lot of times before COVID. My mom has been there for 4 or 5 years now. She's in a 2-bedroom apartment and there's a lot of room, it's very nice. My friend also lives there in a studio and he's happy with it too. She plays cards every day, sometimes during the day and mostly at night. They have something to do for the residents and they interact with other people so it's really a great place.

I visited this facility

I did an in-person tour of Park Vista by Bonaventure. It was nice. It wasn't suitable for my mom, but if you don't have medical problems, the memory issues that my mom has, and one-on-one care, it would have been a great place, like an assisted living type of place. My mom is well beyond assisted living and it wouldn't work for her, but for someone that i more independent it would've been a great place. They showed me both assisted living and memory care, but memory care isn't one-on-one. They had way too many residents per staff member there. She needs help showering, when in the bathroom, with her medicine, and she needs literally help getting up. She needed a more one-on-one type care, not group care. The rooms were of good size. Presuming that was independent, it would have been great. If they came from a house then they would need adjustment because it's smaller than an apartment, but it seems very social. In my mind it would have been very social should COVID not be locking everybody in their rooms. They explained when they're not in COVID they have activities, people would leave their door open, and socialize with each other. The only staff member I met was the lady who showed me the facility. I walked in, I went straight to her office, and straight to the room. They were trying to keep everyone segregated from everyone. The lady that showed me around was very nice, very helpful, and answered a lot of questions. I can't tell you anything about any of the other staff. They're trying to keep outsiders away from them to prevent the spread of COVID. With COVID, all I saw really was her office and the room. I'm assuming there were amenities there 'cause the building was too big to not have something, but because of COVID again, they were like, "You go here, you go here, you're out."

I did not like Park Vista by Bonaventure. The upstairs was nice. When you first walk in everything was nice and the people were friendly, but when you go down into the memory care place, it smells terrible. They took me to show me a room and I could hardly breathe. I did the whole tour for the whole facility, but I did not like the memory care facility at all. The person that took us around was fine.

I had an in-person tour of Park Vista. It was hard to get in. They had to sign a lot of paperwork. We did not go through it before the administrator came. We went into her office and she explained everything and then she took us to a one-bedroom apartment. She gave us pricing. We were able to see the entry. One thing was that we were not asked to wear masks, which was a little concerning, but we did because that's what you should do when you're around people. I noticed that, at what they call a weekly meeting, some of the people in there had their masks on and some of them did not. It was also very pricey. That's one thing that affected my friend; it was just too much for her. We enjoyed going there and seeing what they had to offer. Later on we were told that they shouldn't have taken us to the room since we're in phase two, that they really shouldn't have taken us through the place, and that they should have given us a virtual tour. I liked the room and so did my friend. We went and looked at a one-bedroom and it was very nice. It had a small kitchen, and it had a refrigerator and a stove in there. It was nice. The director was very nice and very knowledgeable. She's the only person we had contact with.

My father moved into Park Vista by Bonaventure. It's a little expensive, but he's a veteran, so they took him. So far our experience has been very good, and the staff is very nice. It's a very well-organized community. The room he has is a really nice room. It has a bedroom, bath, a living room, full kitchen, and it has a balcony, but he will be transferred down into the memory care unit because he has dementia. They have two very large dining areas that are really nice. They're just like regular kitchens, but they have multiple tables and chairs; it's a really nice facility. It's a three-story multi-wing building that holds hundreds of people. They have an excellent staff, really clean facilities, and they take care of their guests. The staff members are young and they seem to be well trained to take care of individuals with memory loss. They're in a separate wing of the building. I don't think the value for the money is that good. It's very expensive and my dad is going to be paying quite a bit when going into their memory care.

My husband moved into Park Vista by Bonaventure. The staff is very caring and more than willing to accommodate whatever we need done. I am very pleased with how they have handled everything so far. The woman in charge of the memory care is absolutely the most caring person I have met in a long time. She fights for her patients. She does an excellent job. The place itself is very nice, clean, and has two dining rooms. There are plenty of places to sit and there are lots of things going on. The better memory people mix in a lot with the assisted living people. They have exercise classes for the memory care residents and they seem to look forward to it.

My Father lives in the 24 hour Memory care center. He has Dementia which has steadily proceeded to get worse. Debbie who runs the Memory care is amazing, my Dads care Is second to none. Debbie is always egoing above and beyond not just for my Dad but for all of her residents. If I ever need that level of car when my time comes I hope there will be a Debbie in my Future. She is truly one of a kind. The rest of the Staff is also great and very attentive of the residents needs, they are always interacting with the residents either with games or social events, they even take them out on bus tours of the local area.

My Mom moved to the facility in May 2017 from rehab after having had multiple strokes....She is very picky about her food, clothes and room...I have eaten with her several times and the food is good. She has a studio apt which has actually been perfect for her. It has a large walk in shower and is arranged well. They also have someone to clean and straighten up every week which is nice. The Facility is clean and attractive, the staff is friendly and helpful and there are quite a few activities if you want to join in. Mom loves playing Bingo and reading (nice little library) She seems to be doing well there and I have been happy with the care. I looked at quite a few facilities before she went into Park Vista and I would have to say they are one of the best in the area. My dad has also moved into Park Vista Oct 2017 he has Dementia and he has also been happy with the care he has received at Park Vista. His condition will progress and when it does they have a memory care unit he can live in. Dad enjoys walking around the building on their walking trail and they also have a nice patio area to sit at and enjoy the outdoors. I appreciate the fact that the staff is always friendly and kind to my Mom and Dad and that they try to answer any questions I have.

My mother-in-law is at Park Vista by Bonaventure. In general, everything is fine. However, my mother-in-law is a very, very picky eater, and more child-like; she eats chips, candies, and cookies, so meal-wise, she doesn't really like anything, so she is not really eating meals. The staff has been good, though. I don't have any complaints. There are a variety of activities. They go out shopping, to the casino, out to lunch, and have bingo. I was impressed when, right before the holidays, the Boy Scouts were there singing Christmas carols, and upstairs, high school girls did nails for the residents as part of their senior project. It seemed like there were activities and things going on. On New Year's Eve, they had happy hour starting at 3:00 for the holiday. The one complaint that my mother-in-law has is that the assisted living side intermingles with the independent side. Like in the middle of the night, she might hear somebody running up and down the hallways screaming from the assisted side. There is no separation between the two.

WOW!! Okay. This place is amazing. %100 improved. I visited my grandma and grandpa here multiple times. But this time was the best by far. The food was delicious. The service was superb. The young man who served us was an absolute delight. His name was Michael Gray I do believe. We had their pan fried whitefish which was outstanding. The caregivers there are also very kind. I know my grandpa can be a grump. I appreciate everyone in Park Vista for dealing with him and all the others. The front desk lady Clover was the MOST helpful person I have ever met. I thank all of you for the improved experience and you can expect me again soon!!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I am the relative of an elderly resident residing at P.V. I have given the facility 4-stars for the following reasons: 1) The apartments are more than adequate, and housekeeping seems to take good care of the units; 2) the nursing care also seems more than adequate - my relative requires assistance in bathing, etc. and the caregivers go out of their way to make sure she has adequate nursing care; 3) There are lots of activities for her which she really enjoys. NOW, the reasons I couldn't give Park Vista 5 stars are: 1) The staff turnover is ridiculous (from one day to the next you don't know who is going to be employed there - and that goes from the food servers in the kitchen right up to the Directors. This is very disconcerting to the residents). 2) Many questions (re: rent, activities, nursing care, etc.) go unanswered when presented to staff. There is obviously a lack of training or structured guidelines at the facility on dealing with everyday and more complex issues; 3) And most importantly, the food at the facility is unbelievably bad! 90% of the time it is served COLD. 90% of the time it has way too much salt (really great for senior citizens who have high blood pressure!) Most of the time the items on the menu are not available. The meals rarely come out of the kitchen as ordered. I have seen residents get up and leave the dining room after waiting 30-45 minutes just to order, then wait another 30 minutes or so to get the food. (Guaranteed to be cold!) If you had a good meal there, it was probably because you were looking into putting a relative there or the wait staff told the kitchen help the order was for a guest. I promise you, after doing a month long survey (3 meals a day), rarely do the residents get a decent meal. (For example: ham and scalloped potatoes on Monday, ham and scalloped potato "soup" for lunch/dinner on Wednesday. Hmmm?) This is NOT an isolated incident, believe me. I feel extreme sympathy for the residents who are forced to eat this "food" as they have no choice. In conclusion, if a nice environment and good nursing care are what you're looking for, Park Vista gets a "4". If you are concerned about healthy nutrition and appetizing meals, look elsewhere!

Sadly the attractive building covers an ugly management problem. I lived there for nearly a year. I don't expect perfection, but the lack of quality management trickles down to poor service, poor attitudes, and generally unhappiness. Almost daily I see confused residents wandering the halls lost. I helped a lady find her room which took about 15 minutes because she couldn't tell me her name or apartment number. The entire time there was no staff to be found. Doors alarms don't work, these poor folks could easily walk out and no one would notice. I've helped confused residents get back in when the doors don't work and they are stuck outside.

We're considering Park Vista. They had a friendly, open, clean atmosphere, and the staff was very friendly and seemed to really know what they're doing and understand geriatric care. The apartments were very clean. You have to supply your own furniture, but other than that, they had nice bathrooms and a little kitchenette so it's very nice. I have eaten there, and it's very good. They go on trips to the museums, bowling, and shopping, and have music nights, movie nights, games like Foosball, cards, and a little library.

Park Vista by Bonaventure was an OK facility. The staff was very nice and gave lots of information. I only saw one room, which was clean and in good condition. The grounds were impressive because it had a place for people to walk around, and the location was good because it was on a boulevard. Their food wasn't great, but it was fine and had a lot of choices. The dining area was very attractive.

Park Vista was a really nice community. They gave you the feeling that they really cared about the people that lived there. The staff was pretty thorough. They answered all of the questions despite having a busy day because they had somebody from upper management show up for a surprise visit, so it was a little hectic for them. We had lunch there, which was very nice. The dining room had two areas: one side was where you serve yourself soup and things like that, and other side was full-service. It was like going into a restaurant and had a really nice feeling. People that work there came over and asked what we wanted to eat and drink. I would definitely recommend them to others. The rooms were wonderfully set up for retirees, which was nice.

Everybody was really friendly at Park Vista, they greeted my mom, and they were interested in her, and treated her as a person. We had lunch, and the staff was really friendly and accommodating. The dining area was like in a restaurant. They had a serving staff, and you can order what you wanted. It was really clean, and they had a lot of activities planned for the residents. It had nice surroundings, they had a large storage space, a walk in closet, and they had closets in the bedroom, and cabinets. They also had a patio, and the place looked homey. They do have a bus that will take you shopping, they had organized entertainment, they do things for the Holidays, and they set up activities in the entertainment rooms. They have exercise classes.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My father is in Park Vista. Actually, it is just down the road from my house. There is a lack of staff, and he is not treated like he should be. They are nice and everything to him, but his needs far outweigh the staff. There are two staff members each shift, and that is not enough for what he needs. He is falling, and we were told when they did the interview with him that there was plenty of staff and that they would be watching him, and the falling would not occur. He fell the very first day he was there, and I was like, "How did this happen?" So he has gone to the emergency room and had to have the EMTs called out. No, there is just not enough staff. I am very disappointed. The one good thing is that he actually likes the food. He gets fed there, and that is not even an issue, but the actual care is bad. It is not a memory care center. Even though they say that's what it is, it is not. The rooms are not clean. There is plenty of room there, but the housekeeping is not good. They don't clean up. He pees on the carpet, and it stays there. It smells like urine, and the bathroom is indescribable. They are just nasty. I have never seen any activity at all. They need staff members who are qualified for memory care unit and people who have Alzheimer's, and they need like a skilled nursing facility there. It is more assisted living and that is not what we were told it was going to be. He is pretty much on his own until something happens, and then they'd step up and help. They give him his medication, which I am thankful for, but the simple thing of combing his hair -- he was immaculate, he has always been a clean guy and everything around him clean. And when I walk in there and smell pee, it is ridiculous, or he's peed on himself and doesn't get changed. My dad deserves better than that, and this facility is not the place for him to be. It is very frustrating. He has gotten out, and this is supposed to be a secure place. I understand the fire hazard door and how that has to be, but he was actually outside the facility, walking down the sidewalk or actually stumbling -- because he doesn't walk -- next to a busy road. When the staff went to appear out the door, they didn't see him immediately, so they came right back in. And it wasn't until a spouse of one of the staff members was driving down the road that he noticed there was a gentleman stumbling down the sidewalk. Then, he told his wife about it, who immediately got in the vehicle and went down the road to pick up my dad. So the security is not well at all. They don't respond to alarms. I've been there several times and had to pull the cord just to have a nurse or the aide come in -- they're not nurses, they are aides -- and it is a good 10 to 15 minutes before someone finally responds.

We really liked Park Vista by Bonaventure. It seemed like it would be a good fit, and the apartment style made it homey. We were happy, but when they got back to us, they didn't feel that he would be a good fit because of his age; my son is only 27. The room was nice. It had a little kitchen and its own toilet and sink, but they had a common area for the bathroom so that he could be watched. The surrounding was very nice and very well landscaped, and the inside was very clean.

We chose Park Vista Retirement and Assisted Living Community for my mom because it looked the nicest and seemed the best among other communities in our area. There are a lot of places in this community for residents and guests to sit and have conversation. My mom is not happier but she is accepting living there and doing okay with it. We got her a two-bedroom apartment with a washer and a dryer. I had lunch there a couple of times and the food seems very good. What I like best about this community is that there is a positive upbeat feeling to it. They also have a variety of activities like bingos and games. They also have music nights, happy hours and tea parties. They have tried to have something to do everyday. It also seems to be a well-staffed community. The people seem friendly and they really know the residents.

I visited this facility

I was quite surprised and pleased with the community as a whole. I wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first experience with an assisted living community. The staff was very pleasant and helpful with any questions I had. It had a very positive and supportive vibe that just seemed to welcome you in as well as want you to come back. The grounds were well maintained and ornate. The rooms were extremely nice, well maintained, and modern, in my opinion. The dining options were varied as well as tasty. There were many outings and activities available for the residents on a daily and weekly basis. In speaking to people that currently lived there, they had little to no complaints about the overall community. I wish that I could go into greater detail about Park Vista, but my grandfather passed unexpectedly before I could visit it any more times. However, I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I look for stability and this community does not have any. Can't tell if it is the communtiy or the company that runs it. We have moved out our parents after the 4 Director and 10 nurse in 10 months came and went. Stay away....

This particular assisted living facility had the feeling of home. It was bright and cheerful. The decorations made the facility feel cozier and more of a home atmosphere. The residents are allowed to have pets and come and go as they please. They offer services such as haircuts, manicures and pedicures. The staff was friendly and willing to go the extra mile. The apartments homes were spacious. The grounds were well manicured and nicely kept. Plenty of parking too.
