There was one person at The Kenney who was great and toured my daughter and me around. We had lunch there, and everything was fine. They gave me a list of the activities that they had every month. It's in a residential neighborhood, and I was looking for some walkability for other activities. They also wanted a big fee payment upfront.

The Kenney is where I wanted my mother to go to. I like the facility. It has a really good reputation. It's been around this town for years and it has been maintained for a long time. My mother thought the price was too much. That's why she didn't go there. What's neat is you can start out there independent and they take you til you're fully dependent. It goes all across that span and it's got a very high reputation for its care. The rooms are very nice. It depends on how much you want to pay but the small rooms are small. The food is very good. The dining room looked really convenient like any one could come and go in there and it's very spacious. After we found out how much it was, that was kind of the end of it for her.

My grandfather has been at The Kenney for almost 4 years now, and, while my mother is the one who takes care of him, I visit fairly frequently. The facility has independent-living, assisted-living, and a nursing/rehab center. For the first couple years, my grandfather was in assisted-living and had a beautiful room with a large window and lots of natural light. After he fell and broke his hip he was moved to the nursing/rehab center, which is in a different part of the facility with much less natural light. His roommate is one of his friends he's known for years, and there are other relatives and friends living in the facility. The staff is very friendly and provide adequate care. There are plenty of activities and entertainment that he attends. Overall, I feel like The Kenney is a good facility, and I believe my grandfather is as happy as he could be in any comparable facility. Compared to a couple other assisted-living facilities I'm familiar with, though, I feel that the nursing/rehab center is not as open or bright, and feels more like a hospital than a living area.

The Kenney is a top-notch facility in beautiful West Seattle. The grounds are beautifully maintained, though I wish there were more parking. The staff is warm and friendly, from the front desk personnel to the serving staff in the dining rooms. I visit the Kenney regularly with my daughters, and the staff is always ready to accommodate our dining needs with a pre-set table. The meals are basic, but delicious. The multi-floor buildings are storied and showcase the Kenney's history, as well as artist work for sale and other exhibits. A large music room with a fireplace is always ready with fresh coffee, tea and treats set out on a tray. I've also noticed a game room, library and various puzzle alcoves. Rooms are basic, but fairly roomy. Guests have the option of dozens of daily activities and excursions! If you're visiting, you won't need a sweater -- the Kenney is kept quite warm!

The Kenney is a wonderful retirement and assisted living facility. The units are clean and bright and the staff treats residents like family. I appreciate that the facility offers a wide range of interesting activities for residents and the dinin room offers fresh health meals throughout the day.

My client was sent to the Kenney after a fall. She remained for two months. While the building is lovely and the staff seems very nice, we had some trouble. They sent my client home with insulin to use, but it had expired. We also received multiple bills for the same services. I spent a great deal of time on the phone trying to resolve these issues, and it felt like I was being passed from person to person. When my client fell again, she requested not to be sent to this facility and choose another one in the area.
