Under new management, most of the caregivers, office staff, nursing staff, kitchen staff and maintenance/landscapers have left. Horribly sad for the current residents as many of them are "stuck".

Laurel Glen at Bremerton Senior Living was terrible. It was very short-staffed. The one woman at the desk was overwhelmed because several people were trying to get something from her by appointment, but nobody had a record of the appointments. And the person that was supposed to give me the tour wasn't there, so the girl at the desk had to give me a short tour. She took me to a really old studio. It looked like it had been used a lot, and everything needed to be updated. They had a small, not very pretty lobby. I thought it was terrible, but I didn't give it a whole lot of chance because I was so put off by the whole thing. They need to update the facility. It needs help. It looks old. They need more help. It didn't seem they had enough help.

I went here. They had a variety of studio, one, and two-bedroom rooms, and they were all being modernized as they went. So the property I thought was clean, and it seemed like a nice place. It was a good experience. The manager that met with me was very helpful and answered all my questions directly. I spoke with one of the nurses, the other people I spoke with were friendly. She showed me one of the big two bedrooms, it was spacious, and certainly too big for my mom. The rooms she showed me were being modernized and repainted as they became vacant, and the amenities and the quality of the upgrades seem very nice. They were nicely painted clean rooms. Some had new kitchenettes and new cupboards and things like that. So, they looked very nice. There was a group of ladies that were doing activities. It's in an urban setting, right there by the old hospital. I saw the menu, it did look pretty diverse, and they had a dietician on staff. So it looked like a good variety and they were sensitive to the needs of their residents.

I toured here. We got a general overview of the place. They talked about how you can add on things if you need more care. We looked at their dining room, which is very nice. It was a nice establishment. We just saw one room because they just had a studio, and it was nice. It had a walk-in shower. I woke up having some questions this morning about walk-in showers because my dad's not too steady on his feet, so he would have to sit, and I didn't see anything there, but they looked fine, and the lady who toured us around was very nice. There was a stove so that you could cook in your apartment, and it had a nice view. I thought the community was really good. The entry was quite secure. The door was locked and so you had to press the buzzer to get in, which was nice and secure, and then we checked in. I thought the restaurant was really good and also the activity room. There were some people playing games as we went in, and my dad was interested in that. There was a lot of variety, and they were also saying that they had music acts coming in like about once every one and a half weeks. My dad was pleased with that. They had a version of bingo and things like that.
