My mom moved into Wesley at Tehaleh, and it was great. The facility was newly built. They just opened it two years ago. It's very close to where I live, so it helps me to care for my mom and get there when I need to. The facility is very clean. They have two dining sections. They have independent living, retirement living, assisted living, and then memory care. The front desk and some of the employees seem fine, devoted to working and caring for aging people. They seem to have it well staffed with the kitchen, the nursing, and the housekeeping.

Wesley at Tehaleh is really on top of paying attention to and keeping the memory care residents as active as possible and involved in things. The staff is excellent and have been very informative. I think that they do a very good job. They've got exercise classes that they actually can do right there inside. They have a main gym upstairs, which my brother can go to with supervision, or you can do them right in the memory care, which they just started recently. They have small exercises, lots of games/things that stimulate the mind, a swimming pool, a theater, and an area where they worship. They also have outings, so I think they have a lot of things to offer. The memory care unit itself is very open and airy, but it's very secure. They actually have a gated area outdoors where the memory care residents can go. The inside doesn't feel dark or gloomy. It's laid out so that you feel comfortable about it. You could see through windows everywhere you go. They have an area for eating and dining up there on one of the main floors, and an outdoor sitting area that looks out on a nice field you can walk into. They serve three nutritional meals a day. They have their own refrigerators (my brother does), and we buy him things that he likes, so he's always got something to snack on. In terms of the cost, they are the highest one that I found, but I think they are worth that, because they don't let the person sit around and do nothing. They try to engage them, and I think that's a big, big part of it being there.

Wesley at Tehaleh is beautiful and brand new. The person who took us on the tour, Andrea, was outstanding. She gave us as much time as we wanted or needed, answered every question, and took us to extra rooms just to give us an idea of what they looked like on the other side of the building and the views that they had. The amenities were impressive. The rooms were large. They were between 800 and 1100 square feet. I thought the price was reasonable. The smallest room was priced at just under $3000 a month. They included two meals a day, they have the bus, and they have a restaurant. Each room came with its locker in the designated hallway to store things that they don't want to keep in their room. It's a planned community, so all the housing and schools and everything are set up nicely and is well landscaped. There were miles and miles of paved trails so that my father could ride a scooter out there or walk. It was a very impressive place. They're so new. There are some things that they say will be starting in a couple of weeks or that they'll have open, and I run into it before where they don't quite open on time. They've got senior appointments. They've got three levels, and they allow you to age in place, as they put it, because their medical staff is right there. You don't have to move from apartment to apartment if you go in and things change. The only person I really met was the receptionist and the person giving the tour.
