We've chosen Acclaim at Belmont Bay for my mom. The facility is amazing. It is clean and lively, and there's a good amount of people visibly enjoying their time there. It is also very upscale. The apartments are luxurious. The atmosphere is active and comfortable. They have a lot of activities for the residents there. The most important thing is they provide transportation for appointments within 5 miles. They have a salon, a gym, a pool, a game room, and a dog grooming center.

Acclaim at Belmont Bay was awesome because, although I arrived early in the morning, the residents acted like I already moved in. They took me for complimentary breakfast, which they serve every day. Then we went on the bus and went out to one of the little shopping malls. This was all before 11:00 AM. When we got back, the management was there. They were like. 'Oh, I see you've already met some residents.' They showed me the apartment that I was going to have for that weekend. Then I went upstairs, and I took a nap. I came downstairs for lunch. They have a little restaurant right inside. I ordered my lunch and something to have as a snack a little later. They brought that up to my room. In the afternoon, the residents had me again. We played bingo and went to a water aerobics class. That evening, because it was St Patrick's Day, there was a show right after dinner. After the show, they taught us how to do the Irish dances, so I really had a ball. The tour was phenomenal. I got to go into the different apartments that were available. The residents were friendly. The staff was super friendly. I enjoyed the meals. They were great.

Acclaim at Belmont Bay was very nice. The place was exquisite, very well kept, very clean, and very organized. They had most of the amenities that I'm looking for, such as the exercise room, the swimming pool, and walking trails. The outdoor activities were okay, but I had a little problem with the community fees in the beginning. They recommended that I could adjust that by being a veteran, and I'm a veteran, and they would offer me a discount. The discount came to about 10% of the total monthly cost. For the apartment that I wanted, it was like $3,555 per month and that was a little bit over my budget. I sent them a copy of my budget and we compared notes, and it turns out that was equal to about 67% of my disposable income. I thought that was a little bit too high for me, so I'm holding off and seeing if I can find something cheaper. I give them high marks except for the cost and the community fee. They want a non-refundable community fee upfront and I thought that was a little bit harsh. They have quite a few collections of apartments. They had a one-bedroom with one bath. They have three styles of that depending upon the square footage involved with each one. They had a one-bedroom-one bath with a den, they had some two-bedroom apartments, and they also had a two-bedroom with a den. All total, they had about five or six different styles of apartments, which I thought was very nice. The apartments were very well-kept and very clean. They had a few vacancies at the time. They were very polite. They showed me the swimming pool, which is nice. I'm an avid sports fan myself and I love to swim, so I could take advantage of that. The amenities are very important to me since I'm physically fit and I don't need care right now. They have a game room. I had two people that toured me. I had the sales manager and the guy who handles all the finances. They both showed me around together. The staff were excellent. They offered me a meal, but I didn't take them up on it. As a matter of fact, uh, they offered me a stay at the place for two or three days so I could make up my mind. They offered to put me up for free for a day or two to try to get my business, of course.

I toured Acclaim at Belmont Bay. It's nice, it's brand new, and everything is really clean. They have a movie room, they have a gym, and they have a barbershop. They have a lot of amenities, and they have a full activities calendar. The person who assisted me was really nice, answered a lot of questions, was very helpful, and accommodating. They gave us some gourmet homemade cookies when we left, and they were good. They had exercise classes. I don't remember exactly the organized activities, but they had like an activity room where you could go and play cards and shoot pool, and they had like games and things in there. I got to see several models of rooms, and they were all like fully furnished models. They're brand new, everything had like really nice finishes, and they had different options, like you could get them painted and get different types of flooring. They're really nice.

I went to Acclaim at Belmont Bay, and their staff was excellent. This was by far the most inexpensive option that I had seen or heard of from all the places I checked out. This is independent living, so there is no medical staff on hand. They are only at six percent filled because it just opened up, and there was still some construction going on for other buildings that were separate from the senior facility. It was also very clean. When I walked in, there was a lady that greeted me. She was phenomenal. One of the salespeople happened to be walking by. She had just finished giving a tour. I literally just walked in, but they still answered all my questions. They were super nice and super informative. They seemed to be offering a lot, and the prices were so low that I couldn't believe it. They have limited shuttle service anywhere within a 5 mile radius, and then it is like a dollar a mile afterwards. I guess it is still cheaper than Uber. The metro station is maybe three miles down the road. If you need to go somewhere, the metro can take you just about anywhere in the area. They had a very nice dining facility, a rec area, and lots of walking trails. There is wetlands behind it, so it's not like it's going to get totally built up. It is right by the water of Occoquan River and the Potomac bay area, so it is very nice. All the people seemed professional and easy to talk to.
