Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care is small, well-run, and very clean. They have a lot of activities and my dad really likes their food. The staff has been very attentive, too. I would highly recommend them. We're just very pleased.

I toured Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. The management was really good. The grounds were well-kept. The people who lived there seemed to enjoy it. They had good amenities like how they take them out to different activities and things like that. The woman who helped us was informative and friendly. My mom liked the food. The place was clean. They had a wide variety of different rooms from smaller to larger rooms, and it was affordable as well. That was one big thing. It was the most affordable place out of all of them.

I saw Potomac Place for my uncle. When I did the tour I liked the way it's kind of tucked back. When you drive down into it, that's the only thing that's back in that area; it's kind of surrounded like a wooded area, even though it's very close to Route 1. When you walk in, it's a nice, big open area. To the left they had a sitting area where there was a puzzle out, and chairs with newspapers and things like that. And then the administrative offices to the right. There's a check-in person sitting right in front when you come in. The dining facility was straight ahead. When I went, they were going down for dinner, and there was a lot of activity, people moving around and talking. I was impressed, because for the age of the building I thought it was very well-maintained. It smelled nice. The administrative was very quick with getting with me and taking me on a tour. They showed me the different facilities, different rooms that they had, and different accommodations. They had five studios and a one-bedroom. They didn't have any studios that were not occupied at the moment, but the lady who lived in one was very kind and was OK with me looking around, and so I was able to see what that space looked like. The follow-up was really nice, too. They got back in contact with me, which I appreciate because it's not with a call. They left me a recorded video, a video message letting me know that if I had any questions they were there to answer them. I thought it was a nice looking, well-maintained facility, and the people who were there seemed happy. It's nice to see them moving around and not just sitting. They don't have the residents separated out. Everybody is kind of mixed in there together, so you couldn't really tell that in one apartment was someone receiving memory care, and then another one was receiving assisted living. They're all kind of in there together. I only met the person who gave me the tour, and the front desk person. It's no different than many other places. It's just a lot of the places that I have visited were very cost prohibitive for someone who's on a very limited income. That's so unfortunate because the people who really need the care can't afford it.

I went to Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. They seemed to have very nice people working there. The facility itself is very, very nice, clean, and well-kept. The layout is very good. In general, it's a beautiful place. But I don't want to leave Alexandria because all my doctors are here. The rooms are gorgeous. They have a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, and a bedroom. It is all very clean, very neat, and very nice. The person who took me around was lovely, lovely, lovely. She's a very nice person. She explained everything to us in detail. I would love to be her friend. You get your meals if you live there. Meals are included, and you get three meals a day. If you want to, you can have your meals in your own apartment if you don't want to go to the dining room. They have a beauty salon and a barbershop. They got everything there that you would need. They have patios and out front, they have a lot of seating where you can sit out there and visit and have company. As you enter, they have a visiting area, too. They have their mailboxes where mail is delivered here. You have your own keys and your own mailboxes. It's beautifully decorated. It's gorgeous.

We toured Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. I didn't taste the food. We saw them having lunch and it smelled good. The woman we spoke to answered all our questions. She was very pleasant. We got to see the model rooms. We talked to some of the residents, and we talked to some of the staff in the physical therapy department. They have a doctor, a podiatrist, and a physical therapist that rent a space in the building, which is a bonus not having to run to all your other doctor's appointments. They have a hair salon. It's a nice, neat, and well-kept facility from what I saw, and it's one of our top choices.

We went to Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. The staff was knowledgeable. It was a lot smaller place than the other one. I met a couple of people. They seemed very friendly, and very outgoing. It's an older facility, but it's in the woods. So whenever you look at any of the windows, there are trees. The room seems very spacious. The suite looked like it was kind of two rooms. The halls are a little bit skinnier, but it's made for older people. It was our second choice. They have happy hour at 3:30. They have bingo. Even though it's watching YouTube videos, it's a passport where people would have to get a little passport that they have to fill out with like these videos of Italy or Pompeii and stuff like that. I didn't see anybody going on day trips, but they do day trips too. When you go into the restaurant or the area at breakfast, they'll have their lunch meal and their dinner meal sitting out underneath little glass containers so you can see what you want, what you're going to order instead of just saying you want this sandwich. What you would eat is underneath that glass dome. So it's like you know exactly what you're going to get when you order it, which I like a lot.

Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care is an older building. It's kept well, and it's clean. The lady that met me was very nice. In most of the places I've been, we get to speak for 30 minutes, but she was with me for an hour. She was very informative, very kind, very understanding, and very patient. You walk in, it's nice, open, and welcoming. People were sitting out front, and people were sitting inside. On the day I went, they were having a speaker come in for Parkinson's. So everybody was signing in, and you had a lot of people wanting to go to listen to that lecture. It was great. Everybody was kind. I got to see a studio room. It was very nice. You bring your own furniture. I think it's an old-converted apartment building. But the room is very nice, and it's got a balcony. Big hallways. On the walls, they have a little board there that you can hold if you lose your balance. It was an older building, but very nice.

We toured Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. I enjoyed the home-like atmosphere. I did not feel like I was in the hospital or any type of health care setting; I felt like I was at home. It was a place that was caring. The staff who assisted us during the tour was wonderful. I like the restaurant-style dining. The rooms were adequate. The atmosphere was positive and home-like. They can improve on mental health care though.

We looked at Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. The tour was good and it's nice. Everything was outstanding. The person who gave the tour was good. The rooms were outstanding. Overall, they were pretty good and accommodating. It's just that the price is a little too much for us.

I went to Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. I liked the director. She was great. She had just transferred, and I just really liked her. I thought she was doing a great job in her first six months on the job there. They have a courtyard. It was nice. It's in a wooded area, and it's pleasant. It was peaceful, and I liked it because it was directly across from the fire station for EMT response.

I went to Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. They had an RN on site. The doctor visits, they actually go there, they don't have transportation for it, the patient has to go to the doctor or something like that. They had bingo, arts and crafts, and happy hours. The residents could eat snacks all day if they wanted. They had like a stand where they could just go and get them, but then, of course, they were healthy snacks. They weren't like sugary or salty stuff. It was very, very clean outside, it had trees and stuff. It was very nice. The staff was very good and very helpful.

My mother-in-law and father-in-law are in Potomac Place. We are very happy and they are very happy. They're very friendly, very thorough, and helped us get all of the medical information in and the transition was very easy. It was certainly not the newest one I looked at, but it was clean and warm. It was very nice. It's an older facility, but everything is well maintained. They shuttle them out to appointments, they have a hairdresser and doctors there, and they come and get them to remind them for activities. They do a very thorough job. The food was bland because there's a lot of older people with restricted diet.

Potomac Place is absolutely beautiful. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable as to what they're doing. The dining room is beautiful and they have a wide variety of meals, so they do a good job there too. My mom is not too much of a social person, but they have something going on all the time like bingo, movies, and people who come in to sing.

My relative has been in Potomac Place for 5 years, entering without t requiring much help. In the last 4 years things have gone hill. Help & staff have changed so often that nothing gets done properly. The cost has gone up but not the quality of help. No matter how often you go & have meetings with staff for things not being done for your loved one that are being paid for (no matter what level), all you get is we will look into it but nothing changes. Very disappointed in this facility. We thought it was lovely when we were deciding on an assisted living place but once in boy we were surprised! Would not recommend Potomac Place to anyone. It's a shame that the few people that do seem to care aren't the majority. ,

This facility has gone downhill in the past few months. There are new administrators who seem very harsh on the staff; the staff has held the place together over the past few months. The clear problems seem to be based on how many turnovers of uninformed administration and the firing of hard working staff, without provocation or establishment of concise reasoning. Terrible for the clients, many who have established a relationship with staff, then see the staff change, leaving or dismissed, causing the clients to feel sad or abandoned. Not a well run facility in that respect. Would not want my parent to experience the stress.

Potomac was very expensive and not affordable for me. The rooms were a little larger than what I saw at the other place, but they had the same activities. They were not willing to help me in making it more affordable. They had a therapy room, a large dining room, and a nice garden area outside. I guess they have to be more accommodating, and they weren’t as friendly as I thought they would be.

Mom stayed at Potomac Place for six months. It was not good, so she left. They were too expensive and always forgot to order her medication, bathe her, and clean the room. She has too many problems with the people. They were supposed to do a lot of stuff but didn’t do everything that I would tell them to do. The rooms, apartments, and food were OK.

They are both very agreeable to Potomac Place. The people are very happy. The dining area is very large. The food is very good. There are one and two-bedroom apartments, and they are very nice. They have all different kinds of activities. They have a bus that took them shopping, to doctor's appointments, and to other things like that. I think they are excellent on almost everything that I can think of. I will definitely recommend them; that's the place that I know the best.

Potomac Place is independent living on the third floor, assisted living on the second floor, and full help on the first floor. The lady there invited me to some of the activities. They take you out on a bus. They go different places. They have movies right there, but for the people who can get out, they have church. They have a beauty shop. They have everything under one roof. She showed me a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom unit. I really like that place. I liked where it was located. I like the people. The director was just awesome. Awesome personality. We connected because she's a military wife and I'm a military retiree.

Potomac Place seemed to be well appointed and decorated. It would probably be my first choice. This facility is within half a mile from my own home. The staff was very well informed and genuinely concerned and caring. The dining room was very nice. Overall, I just didn't see anything lacking there at all.

The staff does a wonderful job. However, I don't think I'd like the idea of my elderly mother living amongst roaches. No amount of kindness makes up for subpar living conditions.

The tour of the facilities went very well. The staff was very welcoming to our group and appreciated our visit. They acted very professional and explained what a typical day is like for the residents and what they all have there for things to do, such as Bingo Night, shopping trips, arts and crafts, and daily exercises. The facilities were very clean and orderly. The residents really appreciated our visit and the girl's performance. They interacted with the dancers very well and some even got up and danced by their chairs! It was a lot of fun and great learning experience for the team. It was nice to give back to the community and we are planning to return for another visit in the future. My wife and I are also planning to become involved as volunteers in our community as a result of attending this facility and listening to the residents and staff. The staff worked very well with the residents and one thing that I noticed was the fine way that they communicated with them. They didn't treat them like children or talk down to them. They treated them with respect and explained things very clearly and slowly.

I visited with my church's youth group as a chaperone to interact with the elderly living in this facility and I found the entire building to be very clean and well-maintained. The staff were attentive and caring and I really felt good about our retired church members being cared for there.

My mother has been a resident here for 2 years. The rooms are nice and most have decks that look out onto a wooded area. The place is always clean and bright. The dining room has glass windows that back to woods and is just gorgeous. They have many activities a day for the residents. The staff goes above and beyond to take care of the residents. My mother is treated with great respect and feels that the staff are her friends and family. I can not say enough about how great this place is.
